I got some serious GPU issues, which I know this won't fix, but it will help.
Even if I can down-clock GPU so it doesn't crash would help a lot.

I recently emailed about the old Obsidian tools I purchased, and now I realize a lot more has been happening with Updater, Fan Control etc.

Bought Fan Control, had to create my account again because seems like you guys have a new system it seems.

Good, that the solution worked for you. I'm pretty sure, you chose one of the profiles, which has a reverb effect connected to it. Most of them have it, actually. You can choose specifically the type of the reverb you want or to disable it completely. BTW, you might want to resize the window to see all the options available on the main screen.

I have changed CPU in my laptop and I believe that a new ID has been generated because after boot the Obisidan fan software went back to demo mode and gave an error that my license is invalid.

I wrote an email weeks ago to Obisidan team with the ID foe which I get the error however no response and my license still does not work.

Can I manually update is somehow?

I wish Obisidan would find another way for activation since using UUID is pretty stupid, a major hw change like CPU or yet again, sometimes even a BIOS update can generate a new ID and break the license...

 

edit: after rechecking the the UUID has not changed, my license has just been terminated without any warning and without any reason and Obsidian is not even responding neither in email nor here ...
edit2> Found that older versions works, only latest version says invalid license -_-

 

Did you register your laptop/license after the upgrade? @John@OBSIDIAN-PC had to create a new validation system due to the increase of ppl using the software without paying.

You guys ever have any discount codes for fan control? I have the updated purchased but haven’t been able to justify spending $30ish dollaroos ok fan control. Great software, cheers.

 

He usually doesn't do codes anymore, but will periodically have them on sale. If he gets more company licensing for his apps, he should lower the cost to a new regular price. You could email him and ask.

 

30$ for this app and him being the only developer... sorry but this is more than worth the money..

I have a problem with the LAN connection on P775DM3-G. Today the LAN connection was no longer working suddenly. I noticed that on the Drivers Update Utility the LAN driver was not detected. I tried to click on "install" version 9.0.0.49 but nothing happened. Only the wireless network works! Can you help me please?

I have realised some license issue, whenever I change cpu I loose the license. The support helped me but it happened again.
I have reinstalled the win 10 but the keyboard manager does not work. No matter what I set it does not change the color any tip how to resolve that? thx!

 

I had this happen in strange ways as well. Upgrading from the 6700K to the 9700K (with the dsanke BIOS that supported both, as 1.5.something), the UUID initially changed and then rolled back again (which required John to change and then revert my activation details). Following a reinstall of Win10, the UUID changed again and stuck.

For the keyboard manager, I think you need FanControl installed for some supporting library to be available; you don't need to run it, though, from what I recall.

For the licence thingy I have written to the support, regarding the keyboardLED I will wipe down everything then reinstall all 3 apps.

 

Hi! I really like all the Obsidian Tools that saved me from a lot of troubles.

I would have 2 suggestions:

1. Could Control Station register an hotkey to apply brightness fix? Sometimes, when I launch full-screen 3D applications on my P955ET1, the brightness resets to 100% and becomes not adjustable. I can minimize the application and click on "Apply brightness fix on start" in Control Station to fix it, but when I restore to the full-screen application the brightness is broken again.

2. Could KeyboardLED register an hotkey to enable and disable lightning? When using full-screen applications, it could be useful.

For the point 1, I realized a small C++ program that registers an hotkey and sends a WM_POWERBROADCAST / PBT_APMRESUMESUSPEND message to Control Station when the hotkey event fires. In this way, when the brightness breaks, I press that hotkey and the brightness gets fixed immediately, also in full-screen applications.

For the point 2, is there some kind of message I could send to KeyboardLED to enable or disable lightning?

Absent offered updates from Updater, I manually installed the latest Killer drivers; that seems to have helped mitigate periodic BSODs on my P750DM3G machine (that seemed to coincide with network activity). I guess the Updater backend isn't automated. Hope John is OK.

 

Yeah, he probably adds them manually. You can see it with frequent Nvidia updates. Let's hope he gets back on developing and supporting the software

In Updater, the 'Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650' is missing from the drop-down list on the Drivers tab.

 

The tools haven't been updated for some time, unfortunately.

I now have an issue that after changing resolutions the control center remains 'blown up'.

Also there's still a bug that after a few hours fan control sometimes misreads the cpu temperature at 87 degrees for a few seconds, and the fans spin up accordingly. Neither throttlestop or hwinfo register this spike in cpu temperature

 

So I have N950TP6. I found out that my led shortcuts (on the keyboard [fn + *key*]) doesn't work anymore (since using Keyboard LED). Does anyone have the same problem and have anyone found a fix for it. It is pretty annoying to go into the app to do changes (turn on/off), and after restart the lighting is changed to some static color, even if I have used some other from static mode. It still shows the mod in the drop-down menu, but it does not apply it, instead it stays static.

I have the same problem since started using but I have not noticed if it ramps up like you explained. I should check and see if it does it. I belive it does.

 

Would be nice to decentralise it and open source it...just saying

 

I had a reply to email a day or so ago. I think they've been distracted by supply issues from China due to the virus outbreak. They indicated the software was still being supported and updates were likely to come shortly. Fingers crossed.

 

It is a revenue generating product. How does that benefit him/them?

I know the new licensing mode is in response to disgusting thieves stealing and using full mode fan control / updater illegally. It makes it hard to stay motivated when scummy garbage bottom feeders steal your software.

 

Fan control is just awesome.

 

My Fan Control has been a bit problematic lately, actually. Fans not spinning down as they should, and seeming to spin up quicker than before. Haven't done a full reinstall just yet but might need to.

 

Also is this in every profile that you enable or just one of them? Did you try adjusting the fan ramp up/down speed? There is a control in there that does just that.
