Is your keyboard per-key RGB? If so, then KeyboardLED doesn't support it and John probably won't work on it.

Newest version of Keyboard LED doesn't work on my P870TM-1. Launches and I select colors/zones/etc... and accept and nothing.
I actually dug through my backups and found a version from last year that worked fine so I'm not sure what's going on. -
Nothing works on my Clevo NH58RDQ. I hit Updater, Fans, and Keyboard and nothing happens. Just blank clicks.
Unfortunately I uninstalled CCC before installing this thinking the two might clash. Since you can't find CCC anywhere (the lone version I found on Clevo's site causes all sorts of errors), now I have no software to control my LEDs.
Any help is appreciated. -

Why does the updater insist on unpacking the drivers instead of just downloading them into the folder? Just wasted 500 MB downloading the nVIDIA driver that cannot be used with nvUpdater or nvSlimmer, as both these utilities need the packed driver.

Hello, I have installed on my System the fan control, Control Station and KeyboardLED.
After a clean installation of my equipment (windows 10 2004) KeyboardLED no longer works.
Is it possible, could I install the clevo control center together with the fan control, Control Station? -

Understand, I will try to install the CCC.
What matters most to me is the fan control obsidian. This one has to work perfectly. -
I need to switch it off, but will have to install and keep running whole package of CCC to do it...bennyg, joluke and bonassifer like this. -
Thanks for the answers. My equipment is a P950HP6.
Is it possible to keep the CCC installed and disable its functions? Keep only the LED control activated?
How to do this? -

I can't get the obsidian led keyboard to work. -

Control station, Fan control and Keyboard Led.
The problem is only with the led, when I start the machine it turns on the led in blue, then turns off.
I no longer have control over the leds. -
yeah confirming again that led control doesnt work , when i know it previously worked on this model Clevo P670
-
Will the obsidian led keyboard be fixed?
Will it work P950HP with windows 10 2004? -
I just did a wipe and fresh install of windows on my 2019 PB71 and I'm wondering if I should go for the obsidian software instead of downloading clevo control center again. The only issue I see is that my computer has per key rgb and I guess the obsidian software doesnt deal with that. Is it possible and recommended to have the obsidian control station, fan software, and then the clevo rgb software? Does that all work together well?
Also, do I have to do anything regarding drivers after this fresh install or does checking updates on Windows basically take care of all that? -
Regarding drivers, don't exactly rely on Windows updates but the Clevo website or your reseller website if they offer. And then run a Windows update. Only driver windows updated for me was Intel Graphics and Synaptics Touchpad (maybe a couple smaller drivers I don't remember since it happened only once). -
So you did you end up trying the Obsidian Software then switching back to CCC? I've noticed the blue keyboard light wont go away now that I've done a fresh reset. Did simply downloading the Clevo Keyboard program in conjunction with the obsidian control center not work? I've used throttleStop in the past and have really liked it. I saw that there is some integration with Obsidian Control Station but did that not work for you?Attached Files:

As for Control Station (CS) I want to fully switch to it but since KeyboardLED doesn't work with per key RGB, I've simply disabled it (as in don't run on Windows startup) and use CCC fully now. Also I will mention that I use the 8th gen Intel CPU model that uses CCC 2.0 which doesn't come in parts unlike the newer CCC 3.0 from Windows Store that I believe you are using.
Thing is CCC and CS use different services that cause clash so using even a part of CCC may cause CS to not work properly. You can simply download just Clevo Keyboard and test out for a week to see if there are any problems while using CS. As for Obsidian Fan Control, I believe CCC messes with this the most. -
Friends, is there a keyboard LED separate from the CCC?

The only requirement for Keyboard LED to work on non-Per-Key-RGB is you need to at least install Fan Control and run it once...
As for why i´m so pissed and participate so little on this project nowadays is that even CLEVO stock BIOS include our OBSIDIAN tags in an attempt to unlock our software, FREAKING CLEVO!
To stop piracy we basically need to spend more time on piracy protection then actually developing this. This is just ridiculous.Josh Gunderson, anytimer, bennyg and 3 others like this. -
The other, which may be and probably is completely unrelated to your software, is that now my laptop goes into sleep/hibernation even though my windows and control station settings are set to never do this. Any idea why this would happen? -
Control Station stopped working after update.
EDIT - downloaded and reinstalled. Working now.Last edited: Jun 18, 2020joluke likes this. -

Hello! I have P970EN Clevo model.
I've updated my Chipset drivers using the Updater app and I've lost all extra touchpad fuctionalities like scrolling, pinch to zoom etc. It shows my chipset version is 1.0.3 now. I've tried to re-install the version that came with the laptop from my reseller but it still doesn't work, Updater still shows I have version 1.0.3. Literally the only thing I can change about the touchpad is sensitivity. I went into BIOS and loaded default settings and still nothing.
Just wanted to ask here for any tips before I'm forced to do a full Windows reinstall to maybe get this touchpad working again. Is there any way to downgrade to 1.0.2 chipset drivers maybe? Or is there a way to uninstall chipset driver completely so I can properly install the version that came from reseller? I have full, paid version of the updater sofwater from Obsidian-PC.
Cheers. -
You may need to force-reinstall the touchpad drivers. There used to be an issue with the chipset drivers causing the trackpad to be completely/partially broken. Reinstalling the trackpad drivers may restore the missing functionality. You can enable this by using 'force enable all' and installing the touchpad drivers again. You may need an external mouse plugged in or available, just in case of trouble.
As far as I can recall, the chipset drivers are essentially just inf files and don't do very much of anything useful to an already-running system. -
Posting here because I can't find a specific thread for the Obsidian Fan Control...
I'm a relatively happy owner of a P650HS-G - once I found the Obsidian updater and fan control. That Microsoft would decide to update drivers on my laptop illustrates how smart people can be so stupid, but that's not the point of this port. The Obsidian fan control s/w is driving me batty working from home as it cycles fan 1 from 46% to 67% every 10 seconds... The main reason is due to ClevoService.exe running along at 14% of cpu. No idea why it's doing this, but Obsidian tells me the service is only used by the fan control.
If you happen to be using this software on a Windows 10 machine, would you please check your task manager to see what ClevoService.exe is idling at? My theory is that something in the latest series of Windows OS updates (I'm on Win 10 Professional 64 bit, Version 2004 Build 19041.329).

Hi John, Hi everyone,
I tried to use Remote Monitor. But it doesn't work. I got the following message "Could not connect".
Does anyone tried this app? -
Updating Intel graphics driver failed. Rebooted, cleaned with DDU, then installed an older driver that I had lying around, because if you click the 'install' button Updater deletes the file it had just downloaded and tries to download it again. I have limited bandwidth.
So that makes 3 drivers that I've now set to 'ignore'.
nVIDIA graphics
Intel graphics
Sound Blaster - I'm using a modded driver for that. -
Hi,
I would just like to say a massive thank you for providing the Control Panel, LED Keyboard and Fan Control! I have recently purchased a Clevo P170SM-A and after encountering some bugs and problems, I downloaded an outdated control panel and a LED keyboard controller from the Clevo website. After playing around with the settings, I discovered that I couldn't change many of the settings in the Control Panel and the LED keyboard application - probably because the software was designed to be used on Windows 8 (I have Windows 10 installed).
After downloading your applications, I am now fully in control of my keyboard and a lot of the problems and bugs I was encountering have since disappeared!
Secondly, I was having problems with my CPU constantly thermally throttling whilst playing games resulting in massive FPS drops as you can imagine. Once I downloaded your Fan Controller application, I could set my fans speed to Maximum and after doing some initial tests, my CPU temperature seems to have dropped by around -7°C! The CPU is still throttling in some instances but there has been a major improvement. I think the next logical step is to disassemble the laptop, give it a thorough clean, check the heatsinks are installed correctly or haven't moved over time and eventually apply some new thermal paste to see if I can gain further temperature drops.
I have one question regarding the Fan Controller application, if I may:
Mine seems to be different from the Application posted in this thread. I seem to have much less control over the various fan speeds and settings. I am assuming this has something to do with the BIOS in my model not having as many features or being limited in some way?
This is a screenshot of the application running on my system: *I have blanked out an area towards the right of the screenshot as it contained some kind of ID/Serial Number and I wasn't sure if that should remain private or not*
Thanks again and any help regarding my question is greatly appreciated! -

Hey guys,
I cannot change the brightness with my Fn f8/9 keypboard keys.
I have tried:
- uninstalling / reinstalling hotkeys
- uninstalling / reinstalling latest graphics drivers
- uninstalling the Keyboard entries in Device Manager
- Obsidian PC Controller (the slider seems fixed at -1%. Even if I slide it to 100%, nothing happens to the brightness on the screen and the slider defaults back to -1%)
- I followed various regedit suggestions online; nothing workedLast edited: Jul 29, 2020 -
SOLVED !
I used DDU and did a clean uninstall of drivers (vs just within device manager)Last edited: Jul 29, 2020 -

You don't have to buy it. You can go download it for free right now. But if you want added functionality in 2 of the 4 pieces of software (Updater and Fan Control), you can always activate it.
I mean if you have a specialized piece of software you wrote for a specific line or brand of laptops that adds or enhances utility of the customized software that comes from the OEM I'd be
interested in it. -
Hi all,

I know due to Clevo's and others ****ty behavior regarding Obsidian Tools, John has stopped giving it attention, but I'd still like to make a request in case he ever sees this.
"Just a ON/OFF functionality for KeyboardLED for per-key RGB keyboards. No color changing, brightness control, etc just the ability to turn it on and off"
This is the only reason I'm still using CCC (which also brings my GPU clock speeds down by ~400MHz). Fan Control works, Control Station works, Driver Updater works; unfortunately only KeyboardLED doesn't which causes the keyboard backlight to be always on and blue.joluke likes this. -
I figured out how to disable all of the functionality of CCC except Power Modes and Keyboard LED by messing with Win10 registry. Basically you just do a search for all Clevo related entries and delete the ones that you don't want anymore. Backup your registry before trying this in case you bork something up. You could try disabling the GPU Overclock module of CCC. -
I'm also awaiting per-key LED keyboard functionality. Then, I finally get rid of CCC altogether.

Yesterday and Today updates might cause problems.
If after the update you get an error, as always, just install the full package again (no need to uninstall first):
https://shop.obsidian-pc.com/en/support.html -> Column on the right
Updater includes X170SM
Updater includes latest WIFI models
Keyboard LED does not have support for Per-Key RGB but allows you to use the CLEVO app just for the keyboard (its not a full CC install so its all good), just tick the box "Use CLEVO Per Key RGB" and it will install all that´s needed.Josh Gunderson, FTW_260 and anytimer like this.
