these numbers are basically guidelines as far as i can tell....and without being able to measure them separately...cant really say how close to these max tdp's we really are or if we are already over them....

SO in terms of the final questions... which is more powerful....
the D90xF... has supposedly SLI GTX280 and core i7... while the m98 is SLI and mobile processor... so isnt D90xF a clear winner... and second...
CAn i upgrade my D901c??? does anyone kno yet... it looks totally possible from the pictures... -
-
2: m98 would be better at gaming while the d900f would be better at encoding.
3: both are good machines but for different purposes -
looks to be hdmi and esata on the left.
and it will be costly..or so they mention. no price listed

just trying to knock down some of them suspicions you know....
still looking for a bottom shot though. -
So far the new D0 stepping (March) of i7 920 brings no TDP changes,

This is a nice article comparing the power usage of the current C2Q, C2Qs and i7. Well worth reading.

is it just me, or does anyone else realize that those "Eurocom" D900F pics are not accurate... and not even of the D900F?
you can tell by looking at the ports on sides of the notebook.... if there is no HDMI or eSATA.... then its a D901C chassis.
Eurocom seems to have many tech news sites fooled.... but we know better here at NBR.
Maybe I should send some proof to these sites that may not know the D900F and D900C differences are.... geez. -
Yeah, I couldn't find te HDMI or the eSATA port anywhere. In the CeBIT photos, I think I see the HDMI around where the DVI used to be...

Quad cores, ready to ship by 1st May 2008. And I wouldn't surprise if john shore jump on this thread and deny what I had just said. -

that's hdmi and right next to it e-sata

Sorry Gophn, just noticed on one of the pics, that there IS actually an "M" on 90XF's card.
Yeah, I know the difference, but wish that there wouldn't be any at all...
Anyway, as you can see we got desktops' cpus, mbs and RAM successfully put inside of a laptop... There WILL be the next step, when video cards shall follow, as soon as 3-4 years from now, I think,..when Intel shrinks to 16nm dragging AMD and Nvidia to the same game.
Not to forget Intel's laminar jet airflow system. Can't wait to see it coming... gaming on an ultrathin laptop with 30" holografic display ...
Back to the real world.
Who's got 5 gran spare money folks?
-
so SLI is confirmed in the D900f?
-
-
I forget who pointed this out, but technically with the X58 mobo in the D900f is capable of both SLI AND XFire. It all just matters if it fits in the box. And I guess whether it'll melt through the box.
-
So, looking at these pictures we shouldn't be able to swap the motherboard from the d900f into our d901c without modification. As far as I can see, the esata port is the only change that cannot be accommodated by our current case design.
-
Will M98NU have Montevina refresh platform??
there is any hope to see a PM47 in a M570ETU ?? -
it is using a Nvidia MCP79 chipset, but Intel chipset.
And it will have Hybrid graphics to save battery. -
UPDATE: from AnandTech.

the one picture that matters the most at this point......and you ain't got it!*LMAO*
the bottom of the d900f -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
i dont understand why they are using the same deign as the 9262 - its ugly sure i love mine and it works great but its plain and ugly, couldnt they have done a refresh? the 18 inch version looks very nice - not too sure about the 8 gaming buttons im guessing thats what they are with the G in the, just like the 9262 just with more of them
the only thing i dont like about the 18inch version is the size, any idea which will be heavier?

hummmm, bunch of girlie replys on there if you ask me. gophn
why is it that people who run their mouth about high end laptops..98 percent of them never owned one. and most of these laptops are faster than their desktops they spent 200 - 1000. dollars on (and that's seriously pushing it. a bunch of people are cheap, but try to rationalize it off by downing a highend product)? "oooo look at me, im cheap and spent less than you" oh brother! "i bought a amd turion 1.2 ghz with 10 hours battery life".. takes about that long for that guy to encode a file so he would need that long on battery..lmao!
then half of them dont even know what they are talking about. then one guy talking about having 2 gpus is stupid. now he sound stupid. dual gpus dont need to be used in sli to be beneficial. i don't know where he got his dual vga card training from. dual gpus allow for running dual monitors at very high resolutions or if your a stockbroker and run multiple "ticker tape what ever heck they do windows on multiple monitors" had a guy running 3 gtx280's & 6 30 inch monitors. (another stockbroker) people get ridiculous when they don't know any better or it doesn't fit their spending budget. because they want a cute girlie notebook. and yes friends!! i too had a few cute girlie notebooks. *LOL* so i can call them that and anyone not liking it...... too bad!and the gtx280 is probably a 3700m die shrunk and over clocked for all we know...so that would still cover a 3d cad gpu, right?
that's like saying...all benz/bmw/jags/porches/lambos and any other high end car owner are stupid, because you drive a fuel efficient Hyundai or a prism...too funny
well anyways.... it was a very nice write up and correction, but better than half them post are ridiculous. i was too lazy to sign up and post.
the writer was told this...
Eurocom informed me that they are looking to support four physical hard drives, but it's not clear if that will really happen.
woohoo 4 internal drives! -
MOFA, anyone interested?
-
They are trying to stuff 4 HDDs into 900F?!?
-
I talked with Clevo rep. and he said: "No way to put 4 HDD in D900F".
-
glad we are in agreement there.
did that clevo rep state as a fact, that the d900f does not have 2 pcie 16x slots??? -
I thought that with the M98NU they'd FINALLY use a standard keyboard layout. The gaming keys take up WAY too much space...
-
-
ROTFLMAO!
man, they have some around the bush answering tactics going on....
well...looks like about another week or so and someone should have this unit for benchmarking and review. guess we'll get the real scoop then....
you still out there xirurg? -
-
@ dtwn: they do... -
well bust out the *cough* girlie *cough* laptop since clevo ain't about to let you get near a keyboard or even lift one up 1/2 inch off the table.
and do a live streaming video..lol
i wish you could really do that though.
and dtwn:
at first glance i thought that mofa was short for mafia with all them rugged folks milling around...no wonder them lappies are on lock down...lol -
Yea, they sure look unfriendly. They even have a little "private members only" area. -
Anyone know if there might be an ATi option for either of these models? I'm considering trying a Clevo when my C90 dies and not keen on going with Asus again.
-
yep dtwn83, time for me to check in with my secret contact at the cebit show..be right with you...
yo Xirurg
my secret contact at the cebit show...so any news yet?? learn any trade secrets? find any info or dirt...we're not impartial to either or.. all news is welcome! -
I would want an offical release date from Clevo themselves. Any chance Xirurg can ask them of a release date? I ain't trusting Eurocom at all..
-
I asked: "why no Sli with D900F?D901 had SLI,what changed?" he said: "Since D901 is using revolutionary new case design to support i7,we weren't able to put 2nd card in it" me"revolutionary case design...all "new" I see are HDMI and eSata ports" He "no,this time you are wring,D9xx had HDMI for ages!"
about release date-"around summer...probably late..."
@ Prydeless:
-
thanks for the update X. If late summer is the shipping dates, then I must consider buying a W90 A1 then. As I need the computer by june/july before school starts
I never liked ATI and had a bad experience with ATI on my desktop and it seems the W90 X1 is having problems also. I always liked Nvidia over everyone (except the days of Voodoo gfx video cards back in the day :] )
so its gonna be a hard choice for me, I got $4ks aved up for a gaming notebook. I dont want the d901c either, want something new.
