when your on battery, the 9400m uses way less power than running 1 or 2 gtx280m's. so you get the best of both worlds so to speak...
hybrid sli/regular sli

what about the Clevo m865tu
any pictures/words from the Cebit 2009 ?
-
Ah yeah thats right john, it has hybrid graphics, I completely forgot about that.
-
that would be a plus, we just dont know how long it last yet...we have to wait till they come out with a full working model.
-
I for one, think that 18.4 is pretty awesome. But I don't really have to carry my laptop around that much.
-
Well it depend on how often u travel and how u plan to lug it along. As for me, i travel quite frequent therefore the extra weight is not something u wish to lug around(previouly on messenger bag). Expecially with my d900c which is one of the heaviest in it's class. Luckily i'm getting a trolley type laptop bag so it is no longer a problem no more. Nevertheless anything bigger than 17'', finding a trolley laptop bag will definitely be a problem though.
-
So the D900F is just a new D901C
Too bad they just changed the motherboard and used the same ugly chassis.
John are you sure it has three gpu's?
That is an odd number,
No other pictures, doesnt Clevo have any models
K-TRON -
Some of the configurations of the Toshiba X305 also have 3 GPUs. the 9400M for low power and low energy use and the dual SLI main cards for heavy use. -
yall funny...it's because they we're given only one gtx280m..the second one sits right next to it...lol
right there in between the cpu and that other gtx280m. it even says slave right there..lol -
so the 865tu is basically a chasis revision?...it looks better than the 860tu imo...any news on it?
-
so the system shown open is the D900F then?
Kinda strange they made the cpu heatsink smaller. The old cpu heatsink for the d900C was bigger
K-TRON -
the d900f is still up in the air at this point.
edit: im keeping the faith till i see the bottom of that d900f, but as of right now...it's not looking good for sli support. -

Any news yet of the prices of the D900f or the M98NU?
Without a 2nd GPU, the D900f would be cheaper, but i'm guessing the i7 chip and new board would bring the price back up a bit. So maybe it'll be about the price that a D901C (with 2 9800GTXs) is now ($2800 - 3200)?
I'm thinking the M98NU will be pretty expensive - with the larger screen, 2 GPU's, quad core, and all the fancy bells and whistles it has. Maybe in the price range of $3200 - $4000?
Offering an ATI card option for either notebook would be a nice way of lowering the price and still delivering the power for games.
What do you guys think? -

now you know how clevo is...they will give you a bag more than likely(high end models)....now being stylish and all...highly unlikely...lol
-
The w90vp has one big advantage. It has a reasonably attractive and well made bag that fits. Users of the M98NU will probably experience unwillingness in bringing their laptop outdoors in the hideous bag that was provided.
-
yep!, because that asus bag is looking top of the line! and clevos is looking like..be happy we gave you one..lol
i use mine to carry my notebook cooler in.when i take it with me.

They didn't stay on that M980NU long enough for my tastes.
-
im not familiar with clevo nb. is the d900f is the only one with i7 and 280 gtx? i think i found this one is (pre-)orderable now with shiping date 15. april?
but when is the m980nu supposed to be in the shops? is it yet? -
The D900F is the only one with an i7 CPU. Clevo sells them to resellers, who may may rename it, although it still is the D900F. Resellers also provide support and warranty.
Just curious, what is the link to the pre-order? -
may I please ask where is the pre order website ???
Thank you

as for the other one, the m980nu, has anyone seen it listed or a release date? -
-
if it's so available and they have it or can get it. ASK THEM to open it up and look at the bottom.

Based on Intel´s brandnew and revolutionary quadcore desktop processors "i7 Core" the Qi1730 offers the ultimate gaming experience. This 17" ultra high performance machine is also equipped with the fastest mobile graphic card in the world "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M" with 1 GB video memory. First benchmarks in 3D Mark´06 have scored already more than 15.000 points with one single graphic card only. The Qi1730 offers 3 memory slots which can be upgraded to 12GB DDR3 memory. This is an interesting option especially for professional graphic artists or video editing.
alright, i looked all over the net and have yet to come back with a 15k score for this thing yet...so who did they get their info from???? -
-
them are the exact test i hate...more false hopes and dreams. based off something completely different....lol
exactly why i didn't jump into a set of 3870's. all the hype then in the end..no where near where everyone projected them to be.... -
the stuff you didn't see at cebit
http://cebit.kuvat.fi/kuvat/2009/ -
I note they are also offering a matte lower resolution screen - is this a Clevo option or something they have done themselves? (i.e. will other integrators be offering it?)
Neil -
awesome link.
Why do Asus dont let customer touch the laptop?
What is the video clip about?
What is the motherboard with CPU and ton of Ram slot?
What is the white racing car with carbon fiber?
What is the refrigerator cooling for CPU? Do they show you any bechmark? -
Cizmo is already offering the Clevo D900F with i7 and 280 GTX + 12 GB of RAM
-
for how much?
-
€ 2 266.93 = 2 923.88631 U.S. dollars for a d900f
-
Any news on M980NU price?
btw, since GTX 280M supposedly cheaper than 9800M GTX, the price for M980NU is possibly the same as the current price of D901C.
Am I right? (and i really wish I am)
-
no info on that right now.
-
i don't think you noticed about the car, but it says right on it KTM X-Bow. it's a very cool car made by KTM who is known for their motorcycles. it has an audi 2.0T motor in it i believe.

This is the config I am interested in the D900F, from Cizmo. Of course I will use probably XOTIC like before but what is this in US dollars and how much cheaper do you think we may get it here in the US?
Both Cizmo and Eurocom say these will ship April 15th or May 1st if that is true when do you think Sager will start pre order of these? Any good guesses? I know a month or so ago ones were saying the 4th quarter this year but I doubt this is the case, it will be sooner, imo.
