Clevo BIOS (older models)

Do you know, if any of the BIOSes hosted on this site will work on my W76K? There are quite many called W76x

 

Is your W76K based off the Clevo M59KE/M590KE?

 

Um, I meant the different BIOSes hosted on this page in general. No point in being sarcastic.

 

Wasn't being sarcastic I just asked. There are many Clevo M59KE/M590KE laptops with other names and models thought maybe it was on of them.

The model is also called MW7xK.

I installed the latest BIOS (1.00.10 I got from the reseller) but it still doesn't support my new CPU. Is there a way to check, which CPUs the BIOS supports?
It's working fine with a TF-20 but not with TL-50 which has the same socket.

 

This is similar to my issue and the TL-62 and the TL-64. My system boots but does not correclty identify the CPU in BIOS or Windows. Also 4GB RAM is not correctly identifed. I tried to get someone over at MDL Forums to mod it but they didn't know how to do it exactly.

 

should be as "easy" as updating the cpu microcode database in the bios in order for it to properly recognize the cpu.

He said that but wasn't able to do so. He also had no idea how to fix the RAM issue. Windows and CPU-Z report and see the 4GB but only 2.75 is usable by windows and reported by the BIOS is 2.8

 

Guys is there a newer version out for the Sager 8150 models?
The last one seems to be EC/KBC V 1.00.13 & BIOS V 1.01.14. Anything newer than this?

nope, those are the most current ones and there wont be any newer ones coming out.

But Prema is currently doing a BIOS mod for the NP8130/NP8150 that has lots of updates, so keep your eyes peeled

 

thats still gonna take quite a while tho, poor prema is swamped with requests and is currently concentrating on the EM series

Hi i have a clevo w870cu model and i recently aquired a nvidia gtx 470m but i need the vbios for the graphic card since the vbios that she brings is the one from the fabric, just with simple function, it needs to be flashed with the vbios from the brand where is going to be installed, in my case the vbios for the gtx 470m for the clevo w870cu, but i can´t manage to find any vbios for it anywere.

 

Hello great thread, may i have the latest BIOS and EC/KBC files for M760S (non US keyboard for EC file)

p.s - if no one can find non us EC file, can i stick to my current one 1.00.21 and updates just the bios? wonder if that will cause problems - witch means the bios will be in higher version then the EC.

You already have the latest EC, you can only update the BIOS and yes, you can update just the BIOs.

I tried updating my D900F to the latest 09 BIOS and 04 EC but it hangs at step 1 (Updating EC).

Trying to update it with the hope that my Westmere CPU will be supported because at the moment it doesn't boot with it installed.

Can someone upload the 07 or 05 BIOS as the links to them in the OP are dead?

I tried flashing version 05, 06 and 07 but it throws an error (Something about being corrupted/mismatch) and reboots . This is using a DOS CD and the files were stored on my SSD and also tried doing it from a flash drive.

BIOS V 1.00.03i
KBC V 1.00.03g

if that means anything and if there's anyone that has some advice for me.

With the KBC/EC update freeze, the entire laptop locks up. Pressing num lock/caps lock won't even light up and I have to remove the battery + kill the power to turn it off. I'm certain it's freezing and not just slow because I left it for about 20 minutes and it was still stuck at the same point.

 

I have no idea whats going on... do you have a reseller?

 

Hi guys, I have a Clevo M570tu, and am looking for bios update, Eurocom has been less than stellar answering my requests. Your links look like they are dead, but in all I am looking for a aut installing cd iso where it auto updates from the boot sector of the disc. I have seen the m570ru versions of this.

 

The normal BIOS updates are up and running. That automatic update link ... yes, is dead.
I don't have any other, maybe contact the person who made it available and see if he still has it.

 

Member DRevan had posted the iso at a point according to the start of this thread. The link now seems to be dead. I would like to try and find a way to get a hold of this member and see if he still has the iso.

I dont see a working link for the d901c and was in the middle of upgrading processors thought i had found the bios update ordered the processor now i realize the link on page 1 is dead as well as the link on page 6 anyone still know where this is? how to come buy it i will keep looking but any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks have a great one

O.K., so I flashed the ECC then BIOS, however i think i may have gotten a slightly incorrect ECC because a few of the keys are wrong. I have a d900c sager np9262 that i just updated to the .13 ecc and .22 bios found on page 13. This was supposed to be a replacement for the page 1 op downloads which are gone. However they dont match up correctly does anyone have the correct ECC I really needed this Bios update because I was installing a q9550. Which only works with Bios update .20 or later any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for the newest BIOS and EC for NP7260 which is (as on the bottom label) CLEVO model M72SR product code M722SR s/n 8804SC878361, didn't find it anywhere, reseller (sagernotebook.com) is not responding.

With one 2GB ram stick it works perfectly.

When I add a second stick it randomly freezes (sometimes in hours sometimes next day).

Tried different brands of ram as well as different configurations (2+1, 2+2) as well as different OS (from Vista 32 to Win 7 64bit).

Come to think a BIOS update might help. Any help will be much appreciated.

I think latest BIOS 0.16 and latest EC is 0.21 .
Careful when you flash your laptop Ec first, BIOs second.
I would recommend you flash this first: http://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/M72xSR/72SR1515.zip (it should fix your problem)

I actually got (not long after my post here) an email from sagernotebook.com with the latest BIOS in an ISO format (can upload if anyone is interested). As advised here I went along with the ISO provided by my reseller (file name 726BV16.zip). I started with:

BIOS 1.00.06 SA1 (does SA1 mean anything?)
KBC/EC 1.00.06

burned the CD and booted it, the KBC/EC was updated to 1.00.19 and after pressing any key computer restarted. Booted from CD one more time to get the BIOS updated but that didn't happen, instead the KBC/EC was written over again.

I looked in autoexec.bat and besides the warning message (that it is only for NP7260) the commands are:

phlash16 /x /s ecm720sr.19
phlash16 m72sr16s.wph /PN /mode=3 /X /c /S /bbl /exit

Looks like the first line updates the KBC/EC and it never gets to the second line that's suppose to update the BIOS, so I manually executed the second one and no go, got the message "file has different BIOS part number". So now I have:

BIOS 1.00.06SA1 (not updated)
KBC/EC 1.00.19 (updated)

Can you help please, what am I doing wrong?
Is there an modified version for M72xSR?

 

Since nobody replied I went back to the reseller, who asked me to list the last line of autoexec.bat (I did), then asked me to type it manually and let him know if any error shows up (I did and it did as I stated here before), now he is asking me to dir what's on CD and send him the names of the files... waiting what's next, will post.

OK, Allen from SagerNotebook.com wants me to try an earlier version of BIOS, namely 1.00.10, of course on my own risk. Is it safe to do that? I got to admit I'm slowly loosing my confidence, looks like he is preparing the ISOs and I'm guessing he might have made a mistake first time.

Can anyone contribute?
Should I update to 1.00.10 or give up on him and go with Clevo, overwrite KBC/EC with same version and try to update BIOS then.

Well... I burned the ISO that I was given by Allen from sagernotebook.com that supposed to update the BIOS to 1.0.10 and... it stopped right after "Starting MS-DOS..."... ridiculous!

Sooo, I did the incident to update BIOS before EC, cause I used another guide that mentioned the importance to do it the other way.
I tried to then reboot and do it in the opposite way with the same drivers/firmware. But in the middle of the EC update the computer rebooted.
Could I perhaps downgrade the bios version and then reupdate the right way?
I want to update bios to make my GTX675M 2GB to work. I can not find the card in the device manager.

You can try. The BIOS can sometimes be downgraded. Never try to downgrade the EC. You will need to search around for your particular model, to make sure there are no warnings or issues if you want to downgrade to a certain version. On some models downgrading results in bricking the laptop.

Mine is portuguese keyboard , should install this KBC/EC version ?
or install only the BIOS 1.00.09 version without installing the KBC/EC first if not compatible?

I think the EC is only for English keyboards, but I may be wrong.
There are 2 things you can do:
1. backup the existing EC , I know it is possible, but I do not know the exact commands, so you will have to do some research.
2. flash the new EC and see what happens, if it works with your keyboard, that's great, if not, revert to your backup EC from step 1.

If the EC is for english only, you can try and buy an English keyboard off ebay.

What version of EC do you currently have? You could try to flash a newer BIOS without updating the EC, but there is a possibility that you will brick your laptop so I wouldn't recommend it anyway.

Your best option is to try and contact your vendor for the latest EC version.

 

My KBC/EC version is 1.00.02 and Bios 1.00.03

If the KBC/EC is for english keyboard only, it means it convert

The english keyboard is very similar to portuguese keyboard , only fey buttons are diferent.

My vendor only send me the bios files and not KBC/EC files.I will ask them.

 

No, it means that for instance when you will press a key which on your keyboard is marked as [ the computer will actually think you pressed it's english equivalent, such as ; . I think you can fix this from Windows and select the proper keyboard from there.

Hmm... Yes. I think it's save to flash the latest EC and than the latest BIOS. You can later change the keyboard layout from Windows.
