Soviet's conclusion: 1.00.13 is the same as 1.00.12. I could not find anything through my tests that discerned any difference between the two releases. Unlike the previous BIOS revisions that enabled major capabilities like compatibility with Arrandale CPU's on second string motherboards, or support for the MR 5870, or tweaks to fan threshold temps, 1.00.13 I would have to say only contains very minor tweaks that have yet to be deduced apart from 1.00.12. I'm not disappointed in 1.00.13, but again it's still an update and whatever minor issues it addressed is always a good thing. I'm sticking with it.

With that said, BIOS 1.00.13 and keyboard firmware 1.00.10 are the latest set for the W870CU.

I would flash too, but the link's in zfactor's thread aren't working for me.

edit: I think the office firewall is blocking it now. I'll try when I get home.

I'm kind of confused with the W860CU table in the initial post, the W860CU has a 360M video card?

Yeah, it has, but only the 3dvision edition i think.

Is there anyone who has a M570TU BIOS with the Sager splash screen and not the Stylenote one?

Where do you get a W860CU that comes with a 360M?

Is 360M better than the GTX285M?

No, 96 shaders and 128bit memory bus. Even with gddr5, it's not going to beat a 285.

Is there any new bios updates worth getting for this?

    MB: Clevo M540SS
    North Bridge: SiS 672(FX)

Just a small issue here... the key " ? / °" is not working anymore.... :(

I'm with another problem here (has nothing to do with the BIOS flashing). The LCD image oscillates, only when using battery power.

The keyboard is not working properly because in the files that I gave you the EC/KBC is for english keyboards and I believe you have a Portuguese one. Unfortunately I have no means of providing you with a Portuguese EC/KBC.

Oh, I think you are right, it was his BIOS that stated: BIOS revsion 1.00.18PO. So yeah, I guess he needs a Portuguese BIOS in order for the keyboard keys to match with their symbols 100%.

    Hi everybody,

Although I looked at the 73 pages (phew!) of this thread which is the biggest one available on the Net about Clevo BIOSes, I couldn't find the information I was looking for. So here is the issue.

I own a M767T barebone by Clevo, with bios 1.00.09 and KBC/EC 1.00.05, and I can't manage to install a Windows 7 64 bits, it keeps restarting at the first start right after the install. Yet, I installed Windows 7 32 bits which works fine, but unfortunately it only manages 3GB of RAM out of the installed 4GB.

So, I was wondering if it was not simply a BIOS issue and I should get the latest BIOS for this barebone to be able to use Windows 7 64 bits. Does anybody also had this issue and know what's the latest BIOS and EC version for this barebone model (and where to get it)?

    Thanx!

Looks like there are some newer BIOSes/KBC's:

    BIOS 2.30 (12/2009)
    KBC/EC .15 (09/2009)

Ensure you flash the KBC/EC BEFORE the BIOS.

    Hi Revelator,

Sorry for the late, i'm in holidays these days :)

the release note of the BIOS 1.00.13 for the W870CU is :
Solve “HDMI audio has no function with nVIDIA GTS 360M” issue.

the GTS 360M is compatible with both the normal W860CU and the 3D one.

You have the last BIOS and EC Firmware for your machine. the EC 1.00.06 that i talked about is not for your M670SU; it's for the M660SR which is different

    Hi,

It seems you have new update for your machine (update since 2 days only) :

    BIOS 1.02.34 - 2010/7/23
    ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/M746T/BIOS_0234.zip

Now i would like to ask if there is any possible BIos update for my M7XXSUN clevo. I would apreciate any help! Thank you !

Last BIOS for M7xxSUN is 1.00.06
    last EC firmware is 1.00.05

If you need any of them, just precise what machine you have M77xSUN, M76xSUN or M74xSUN.

So it should be the M77xSUN.

Here is the link to a zip contain the 1.00.06 BIOS. Don't run the EC firmware part because your EC is newer, just do the BIOS part of these files.

hi, i have a d900c. ive been having problems with it recently - horizontal, and occasionally vertical, stripes going across the screen. it would also randomly shut off and usually restart. it has gotten to the point where the screen will be all fuzz upon startup (about 9 out of 10 times) and the very few times startup has worked, it would usually shut off anywhere from a couple minutes to a couple hours later (temps were fine). i figured i might as well try re-booting windows and flashing bios before i diagnose it as a hardware problem and sink more cash into this laptop.

i downloaded the bios and ec/kbc from the first page and made a bootable usb, as instructed. i navigated to flash the ec/kbc first, but did not select the update file yet. right after i navigated to the folder, my laptop shut off. now i highly doubt its flashing, but im scared to turn it on.

also, should i risk flashing bios? what if my laptop randomly shuts off during flashing?

edit: sorry for the long read. i would really appreciate any help.

You have a GPU problem. If you have a SLI configuration then one of your video cards is dying.

NEVER flash a BIOS if you are having hardware problems - if it goes wrong then you risk irreversibly bricking your machine.
