hummm I need a translation please

 

W8(7/6)0CU card/bios => 2D voltage: 0,950V | 3D voltage: 1,150V | 2D clock: 110 gpu / 1000 mem
X(81/72)00 card/bios => 2D voltage: 0,900V | 3D voltage: 1,050V | 2D clock: 100 gpu / 150 mem

...the differenz are ~10°C and 10-15W in use.

The X(81/72)00 card has less power consumtion and heat but you can´t highly overclock. The X(81/72)00 card with original bios has bugs at 3D Mark Vantage and Heaven DX11 bench in my D900F. The X(81/72)00 card with W8(7/6)0CU bios - no one problem. After flash the voltage staying original of the card, no more oc potential. I doesn´t tested the X(81/72)00 bios at W8(7/6)0CU mHD5870 card. The only optical differences of this two cards i´ve seen are the pcb color and the crossfire connector.

 

@pk, do you also have the S3100 BIOS?

There is no update for S3100 BIOS or EC. I'll let you know as soon as there will be, and you can remind me from time to time in case i forget

 

Someone needs to mention how the computer's going to beep like a mother during the update process - I nearly woke up the whole house!

In case anyone wants a combined iso with Sager NP5793 EC/KBC 11 and BIOS 13, you'll find it at THIS LINK.

Paralel explained how to do it, but I got lazy and made Sager Tech Support do it for me and send it across - might as well make some use of those guys eh? Left em alone for the first two years I had my system!

Thinking of updating my BIOS, but not sure where to start. Well I know how to update it but the many BIOS/EC versions plays with your mind...

My BIOS dates from 18/11/2009 (according to CPU-Z), way before any W860CU BIOSes that are posted in the initial post.

So my guess, is to update the firmware with a newer one first but...which one? Then the newer BIOS itself, I presume?

 

The BIOS date in the CPU-z is the actually build date of the BIOS. Now, it seems there is some lag between when the BIOS is built and when it becomes available from Clevo. I put the date from when it became available from Clevo, but that's a rough date, it's hard to know the exact date.

If you want to update, just update with the latest BIOS in the initial post. The latest version always contains all previous updates.

 

Yup. I understand. What about the EC/Firmware? The latest W860CU BIOS doesn't include one. Do I use the EC/Firmware from the previous few updates back?

EDIT: Nevermind, I went ahead and updated the firmware first, then the corrosponding BIOS that came with it. Then did another flash with the newest BIOS. Worked perfectly

 

Yes, when there is no new EC you do exactly what you did.

 

Does anyone have a D901c with the Quadro FX 3700M card in it? I know a few places like Eurocomm sold this machine with that card. I need a dump of the vbios for it. I purchased a card out of a thinkpad off ebay and it works fine with an external monitor but the internal LCD doesn't work.

Pkhetan, you seem to have access to some decent info on the BIOS changelogs. Are you able to tell us what the most recent X8100 BIOS you can see happens to be, as there have been several .11oc.xxx revisions, and whether you have any notes on the changes between these sub-revisions?

I am new to this forum and I have been reading the threads for a few days now and learning alot. My question for the experts is, I have a D900T and I am wanting to update it with a new OS being Win7. I presently have XP on it. I am also looking to upgrade my hard drives to the ( Western Digital WD5000BEKT Scorpio Mobile Hard Drive - 500 GB, SATA 3 Gb/s, 16 MB Cache, 7200 RPM, Black) hard drives. Two of them to be exact. I am wondering if this is even possible as some threads have suggested and if there is a new bios for this laptop. I do understand that it is now a 5 yr old laptop but the only thing i have had to get replaced on it was the NVIDIA video card when I first got the computer, now it has the ATI X800 and I got the motherboard replaced when it died and they updated it to the motherboard that was in the NP9880, my laptops is the NP9860.

In order to give you the last BIOS/EC for your laptop, I need the equivalence model name in Clevo for the Sager NP9880.

 

Latest BIOS for D900T is .12 here
Latest KBC/EC (H8 firmware) is .07 here

Make sure you flash the KBC/EC BEFORE the BIOS

 

but Theriko, he said that he had changed his motherboard to another model NP9880 !

Theriko, thank you I have the D900T, Has anyone successfully installed Windows 7 onto this laptop?

 

The 9860, 9880 & 9890 are just sagers names for the various revisions/updates of the D900T, they're all the same machine (hence why the updated mobo fitted the old chassis)

I don't know of anyone who has installed Win 7 on the D900T, but it should work fine afaik.

They are the latest versions for the D900F, and you may or may not get support for the GTX460M as the D900F was discontinued before it was released.

 

Thanks again for the files I was going through the process and realized I already had the .12 installed on my laptop must have been done when they did the motherboard install for me in 07. I wanted to make sure I had the most up to date one as i will be trying to put Win7 on this laptop. If it does not work I will put XP Professional on my rig...

 

This is precisely what is delaying my vid card upgrade. I really dont want to shell out $900+ USD for the 480m when a 470m will suit my needs quite well. But if a new BIOS isnt released by the next month, I will assume that there will not be one.

 

The GTX 460M works in D900F. I had to change the SUBSYS string in the 260.89 WHQL Forceware. Now the card is identified correctly.

 

Yes I read your post over in the OL with great interest. Can anyone confirm compatibility with the 470m?

Initial post updated. Added the mirrors for the new W870/W880CU BIOS files. Funny how they talk about BIOS 0.17 and 0.04 in them ... although we never got the chance to see them.

Added BIOS 0.13 for the M570RU.

Added X7200 to the list.

P.S.

Every time I add more BIOS files to the list... it makes me somewhat uneasy.
