I wanted to update my bios to the .18, and I'm currently on the .16. Do I need to update the EC first or am I already set and can just flash the new .18 bios?

I think the latest EC update is .10

If you have that then you are good to go.

I have a very old Clevo model 2200T. It displays the following:
Mobile Pro Bios ver 1.01 (2482-00)-(R1.07)
System Soft Plug-n-Play BIOS ver 1.17.01
    Insyde ACPI BIOS version 1.00.12
Then it says "BIOS version 1.00.03" !!!
Can anyone tell me what is the latest BIOS version for this machine? And where can I get it?

Yes you can update from .16 to .18 without EC update first, because the last EC .11 came after the BIOS .18
    EC .11 link : ftp://cftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/W8xxCU/W86CU_EC11.zip

I can't see any 2200T model name by Clevo.
Are you sure that this is the Clevo model name, not the re-brander model name?
To know what was the Clevo model name, look at the bottom of your laptop, you will see a sticker with a serial number, report it here so i can help you.

Does anyone know a hack to bypass the beeping but more importantly the forced shutdown from invalid MXM structure on m570tu or m860tu?

I just need enough time to flash the VBIOS. The amount of time I have is really cutting it close.

Whats pathetic is that theres a hack to do it for VBIOS  but I don't even need that because its a VBIOS problem in the first place and plenty of other g96 and g84 will work.

So you can't get your 4850M past boot ? Does it post or do you get a blank screen?

As far as I know, even if you get an invalid MXM structure, the system should move on. Maybe it's cooling problem.... Just speculating.

n, its not the 4850 luckily, its an HP card with invalid EEPROM. Its only invalid for nvflash write, the model number is read correctly.

I guess it could be a cooling problem because its 80nm. I've only tried it in my m570tu which has bad cooling. I guess I'll be trying it in my m860tu soon.

Thank you for your assistance. My machine is a 2200T. There was also a 2700T apparently. I found a BIOS 1.0.0.15 under this link: ftp://cftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/2x00T/22TR115.zip. Does this mean that version 1.0.0.18 should work on both the 2200T and the 2700T? At present under 1.0.0.15 I can only access 60Gb of a 160Gb hard drive and I am hoping a later BIOS might fix this.

Babyhemi has stated that Clevo thinks there may be problems with the first generation w870cu's and the 470m. There's no specific information though. I'm hoping everything goes smoothly for this guy.

yes I've successfully updated it. I think the 1.18 BIOS is only for helping to recognize the i7 940xm so from what I've read, the 1.16s is the one that allows the 460m/470m to be recognized. Good luck with it and let us know how it works out! I successfully have installed the 460m in mine (no USB 3.0 either) and I love it. :)

    Hi,
I´m new here and i first want to say sorry for my probably not perfect English.

    I ´ve got a serious problem.
I tried to update BIOS of my Clevo M761SU (Upgrade to a Dualcore T5200) to the lastest BIOS because I had heat problems with shutdowns.

    I downloaded System BIOS 1.00.12 for M74xSU/M76xSU/M77xSU :
    ftp://usftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/M7xxSU/BIOS_12.zip
as it was postet in #941 by pkhetan.

I configuerd a bootable USB-stick using the HP USB Tool, copied the extracted BIOS_12-update files on it and booted the Laptop with this USB-stick. I started the PFLASH.EXE, checked the BIOS_12 file and started updating. Everything worked fine. There were several beeps during the updating process which was also prompted to the screen. The new BIOS was obviousely written to the EPROM. At the end there was a message that system requiers to press any key or to plug off for a restart. The keys had no function so I plugged off.

The laptop restarts (HDD, DVD are running), but unfortunately with a black screen .

I made several BIOS-Updates before on Thinkpads, Toshibas, HPs and so on. I´ve got some experience, and I know the risks of BIOS-Updates. But what went wrong in this case? Did I probaly had to flash first the "EC-Firmware" first?

Ok whatever happened - I´m just interested in.
More important is to reflash the dead Clevo M761SU.

I tried the Phoenix Crisis Recovery, downloaded all files and configured an USB-Stick for blind recovery. But the stick wasn´t even recognized by the laptop. I´ve tried nearly all kombinations Fn+B WIN+B and so on.
Is there a way to make a rescue CD? Has anybody an ISO-file?

    Need some help.
    Thank You.
    astoni

BIOS 1.00.16 : Solve "system can't identify nVIDIA GTX 460M VGA card" issue.
BIOS 1.00.18 : Solve "system can't identify nVIDIA GTX 470M VGA card" issue.
EC 1.00.11 : Solve “under clone mode the GTX 460M/470M VGA cause screen flashes symptom after pressing Silent key” issue.

Quite possibly this. This is why:
"ALWAYS UPDATE THE EC/KBC FIRST AND THEN THE SYSTEM BIOS."
is written in bright red on the first post in this thread.

In your case it may be a case of either seeing if you can blind flash the KBC/EC or the old BIOS back on, perhaps with a USB Keyboard.
You may be in a situation though where you need to look at getting the chip flashed by a Clevo service center, or even the motherboard replaced.

Yes, this was my mistake. I´ve got the two downloads. But I started with the wrong one.

Unfortunately the old BIOS (Ver. 07) is on the Harddisk - next mistake.
Has anybody this version or can give me the FTP-Link, please?

What is the correct key-combination to start?
    FN+B, WIN+B ...
Somewhere I read that you had to push the email-hotkey befor plugging an power on.

Thanks pkhetan, I have flashed BIOS version .18 on my Clevo 2200T and the system now recognises 137 GB of the 160 GB hard drive. Version .15 only recognised 60 GB so I am very happy. Thank you again.

If I leave my NP8690 off for a long time, like overnight, when I boot it I have to run Startup Repair to get it to work. I'm hoping a BIOS update could fix this, what's the latest for my Sager?

    I'm currently on 1.01.16s and 1.00.11.

Hi guys, I'm in need of serious help with my note, I upgraded my i3 330M to an i5 450M and now I'm receiving the following message "02F0: CPU ID: 55 No Microcode Update Loaded for Alternate Processor" I believe the microcode update could be resolved with a BIOS update, problem is, the manufacturer doesn't provide the BIOS, can anyone help me find a proper BIOS? I tried to dump the actual BIOS and change it but with no success, here are some info from my notebook:

    Brand: Phoenix Technologies LTD
    Version: CALPELLACRB.86C.0000.X.0000000000
    Date: 04/24/2010

    Chipset: HM55

    Manufacturer: CCE

    At the BIOS I see:

    BIOS Version: 2.06_[2010.04.24]
    EC Version: 2.2W_[2010.04.09]
    M/B Revison: D

Any help will be really appreciated, thanks!

Today I´ve got an USB-floppy drive.
I built crisis recovery Disk on this floppy at my desktop PC. - No problem.

I attached the USB floppy to the Clevo M761SU.
But there is still no way to do a crisis boot from floppy. The floppy isn´t even recognized.

I´ve tried a lot of key combination at all USB-ports, but unfortunately none of them worked until now.

    Has anybody a good idea?
