Clevo BIOS Thread

Moved all older Clevo models to this thread as they need no further updates. I will leave this thread only for models which are currently in production.

So correct me if I am wrong, but the M150HM and the M151HM1 have the same BIOS right ?

 

Was updating EC off a flash drive with my sager np5797 and my update appears to be stuck in a loop. It verifies and then installs program data (61440 flash bytes). Then it verifies again and continues to install. It has done it about 7 times already over the course of the last 1-2 hours and it appears to be repeating itself.

Nasty. My only idea would be to remove the flash drive during the verification process. Normally the flash drive should no longer be in use now, all that is needed is loaded in the laptop's memory.

That's normal what you see as happening, just that it should take 1-2 minutes at most, not hours. It would be very bad if your flashing has gone wrong, although it looks that way. Most likely one or more of the sectors it's trying to write are defective and it keeps retrying.

 

Anyone have latest BIOS EC upgrade for Clevo M54SR??

Hello Blacky.

my laptop is working again with the bios chip rewritten.
I did the update as described in the EC forum, it still has a key (/?) that does not work.
this is near the key (alt gr).
the file of EC to run the key is this (M5xSE_H805.zip).
you have a previous version of this file? eg m5xse_h804

I searched the entire forum and failed to find any references to my computer, Clevo M767TU. Does anyone have access to the latest bios files, EC and nvidia Vbios?

I need (EC) for Keyboard Portuguese Brazil?
I already have a (EC) but it is for the English keyboard.

Hi Folks,

I have 3 M760T's. Intel VT is not enabled in the installed BIOS (1.02.30).
EC rev is 1.00.15.

I want to use these either for XenClient or WinSvr2008-R2 with Hyper-V or VMWare Player on top of Win7. All of these REQUIRE VT. The hardware is definitely capable but the BIOS is not.

From a previous post on this thread I downloaded the 1.02.34 BIOS but it has no readme.txt so I dont know if VT support has been added.

Does anyone know ?

Without pkhetan there really isn't much that I can do for such models and I doubt anyone else will be able to help you.

I'm sorry. Try contacting a Clevo service center and ask them for a proper BIOS version.

Hi I have a quesiton about BIOS for Clevo P170HM. I noticed that I have BIOS date from the future is somekind of bug or I'm dreaming ?

 

Just looks like a typo to me, likely meant to be 2010 not 11.

Yes, take only the EC from the 1st link, then update BIOS from the 3rd link.
And if you have the 6970 GPU then youcan update the VBIOS from 2nd link

Because I tried to experiment and I typed this link: ftp://cftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/P170HM/BIOS_103.zip

And it works and I downloaded new version inside there is P170HM.103 dated 7/03/2011 but I don't know what it change. And I don't want to risk and brick my Clevo.

 

Sometimes Clevo put updates in their FTP and forget to put them in the partners' e-channel immediatly. So, it may appear in the e-channel soon with all the releasing notes.

 

do let us know if the v103 for p170hm is released on the echannel when you get a chance

 

radagust if you decide to upgrade BIOS for P170HM to version 103 write yours impressions ok ? Are you upgrading from USB or CD, which method is safer?

My P150HM went into Stage 2 production on 3/25. Since the new BIOS was released on the same day, does that mean it will be on the laptop when it ships?

No, not in windows. You need to update by going in MS-DOS mode. Please check the initial post of this thread for update information.

Just as a general rule of thumb Clevo never reply to the public, you need to go through your manufacturer

Well im not sure what do you mean, the manufacturer is Clevo - you say that it isnt? so what is it, how can i determine it exactly, i cant find anything but Clevo company on the notebook man.

 

He means the ppl. from whom you bought your laptop.

Thing is pkhetan can't answer every single request for BIOS update, he is just one person. It's enough that he keeps us up to date on the most popular models.

My suggestion is to try and contact your reseller first and only ask for help on this forum when you are left out of options.
