Why pkhetan is banned? Sharing BIOS it's nothing illegal. With his knowledge and links my Clevo P170HM works properly right now without any freezes and problems with USB 3.0. If you reading this pkhetan I want to Thank you !
-
-
Yeah, how and why did pkhetan get banned? I haven't read any posts on this topic that were bad, was it another topic? He has helped a lot of people here keep up to date on ec/bios updates for Clevo notebooks.
Just did a search for topics posted by pkhetan and saw some post about something brand/new in the buy/sell forum area but i didn't get a chance to read what it said because the message is erased i think. -
hey i've run the step1.bat and step2.bat for the lastest p150 bios update but my bios version hasn't updated. i'm wondering whether the update didn't happen or it did and it just doesn't change the version number?
-
If the version number hasn't changed, then the BIOS hasn't been updated.
-
Read first site of this thread and reflash BIOS under DOS via USB or bootable CD/DVD.
-
I'm still alive, thank you for supporting me
I've been banned because I wanted to check the price of some computer parts that i want to sell. I see a lot of people do that without filling the FS form, but I don't know why it was forbeddin fo me to do so
-
Someone doesn't like you apparently. Better be careful. We wouldn't want to lose you.

Hello everyone,
I've been looking quiet a while now for the latest BIOS-Version for my M665SE. Can anybody give me a hint, where I could get it? I tried getting it directly by email, but didn't get any response.
Thank you very much in advance!

I have a laptop from PCSpecialist.co.uk, which I believe is a Clevo P170HMx based laptop, which comes up with Stylenote logo on boot.
Anyone know of anywhere where I can get the latest BIOS for this? Bit wary of using the links at the beginning of this thread in case i hose my system, as mentions P170HM only without the 'x' on the end (of thats even important).
Cheers! -
The x at the end is not important, if it's P170HM based then the bioses at the beginning of the thread will be fine.
-
i'm confused i type step1.bat and step2.bat. when i type the updateBIOS.bat nothing happens for the latest file i downloaded for p150hm. it just has step1.bat and step2.bat files and a EFUDOS file.
am i missing something? -
Well yes, read the description for this BIOS on the first page.
-
I finally got an answer from my Clevo dealer, but the Version he provided was even older than the one it originally got delivered with.
So still looking for a newer version... It's sad, that Clevo makes it so difficult. Especially since I know it has to be somewhere in ftp://cftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/M66xSE/

Hello

I thank you all. -
Hello,
I'm trying to get the last version of the bios and ec for model s3101. Where can I find it ?
Thanks -
@pkhetan you are the best! Thank you so much!!
Starguide -
Some one whose P170HMX laptop came preinstalled with the latest Bios, had been experiencing freezes and other problems that disappeared after they downgraded the Bios so be careful. I decided to just stay with my older version.
-
Hello everyone,

Without the real Clevo number, it will really take me a lot of time......
-
ok man, thank you.
can you help me to find the real serial number?
the representant of Clevo in Brazil is Positivo Informática.
my notebook is not working, my hope is update bios.
thanks again -
ohh, if your laptop is Positivo, I don´t recommend to update to a standard Clevo BIOS/EC because some people here have found problems with their Positivo by doing this. Why not contacting Positivo for your laptop problem? How your laptop have stooped working?
-
Is there something new for Clevo P170HM ? I read info from Kobalt ( Bug with SSDs in the G150 and G170) that they finally tested new BIOS from Clevo which remove unexpected freezes and hangs.
In advance thanks for any info about P170HM. -
Last officials are still:
System BIOS 1.01.02.
EC firmware 1.00.03. -
thanks for info pkhetan so I will be still waiting
-
hey guys im on the np8150
i tried updating the BIOS but after i typed update1.bat
the laptop goes into high speed fan mode and then shuts down and never turns on unless i press the power button
does it mean the update1.bat is successful and i can proceed with update2.bat ? -
edit
there seems to be some verifying xxx to 100% and then it jst shuts down
can anyone confirm if this is a successful ec update ?
wouldnt wanna update bios without confirming if the ec update is done perfectly. -
Go into bios setup, it'll say what revision EC you're running.
Quick way to tell if you updated it or not. -
hey thank you Atmosk
i just updated to the latest version posted in this thread
funny thing though, the boot logo seems to have changed from sager to style note
wonder how the 2 of them link together -
There are some small differences between Sager BIOS and Clevo BIOS. The Clevo BIOS is designed for all laptops manufactured by them, which includes among many other brands, Sager. However, because it's an universal BIOS it doesn't have any logo on it so that's why it just writes StyleNote.
Usually the only change in a Sager BIOS in comparison to a Clevo Bios of the same version is the logo, however, in some cases Sager may also add some improvements to the original Clevo BIOS. These are usually just minor tweaks, but this is why if you have to choose between a Clevo BIOS and a Sager BIOS of the same version, it is better to choose the Sager BIOS. However, Sager rarely releases such versions, so usually if you want an up-to-date BIOS you will have to stick to Clevo. -
The latest Sager bios is labeled as 1.00.08 LS3 dated 04/06/11.
They'll send you that in iso form on request though I can't exactly recommend flashing it if you've previously flashed one of the Clevo generic bios updates.
My machine is currently running this bios but upon first flashing to it was bricked and needed recovery, just a heads up for people thinking of requesting the official branded updates. -
That's not strictly true - only Clevo edit and release new BIOS - if you have the same revision BIOS from two different sources it will be exactly the same, apart from the splash screen which may be different.
-
is this equivalent to saying once you go clevo, there is no sager for you anymore ? in terms of bios update
-
I'm not sure it's a rule of thumb but in my experience it was the case.
Always proceed with caution. -
Well, see, this is the difference:
Take the case of the Clevo 1.00.08 BIOS.
Usually when the Sager BIOS had just a logo change it has the version number: 1.00.08S (S from Sager). In this case the BIOS is the same as the Clevo one, only the splash screen is different.
When they have a version number like 1.00.08 LS1/2/3 or something like that, the BIOS is not exactly identical. Now, I don't have evidence, like a change log to back this up, but since I've been keeping this thread I know that for some people that had the M860TU for instance, the sager versions which was 2.17S had some minor fixes/tweaks (I can't remember which one) over the original .17 Clevo BIOS version.
Personally, I would still go with a standard Clevo BIOS. -
When I tried installing Hackintosh OSX Snow Leopard on my Clevo notebook E4128 with product code E412Q-CD, I get a kernel panic due to Intel HDGraphic is not compatible yet. Now I can't turn on my notebook again, because the kernel panic causes the bios to be corrupt. I need original or update bios and EC for Clevo E4128 with product code E4128-CD.
Mr. pkhetan, can you help me to get a download link for EC+Bios Clevo E4128 EC & Bios
Thx 4 any help -
Personally I wish I'd never have updated away from the stock bios, I've had nothing but gripes with my machine since. The stock bios was a Sager variant version 1.00.06[letters/number here] and an EC 1.00.02[letters/number here], That setup ran very cool and the fans rarely had to come on, ever since I've updated away from it the machine has ultimately ran hotter and the fans are on constantly, redoing the thermal paste didn't change anything.
I really wish I could go back and not feel this frustrated with a machine I paid this much for, but what can you do, live and learn. -
With pleasure. Although I don't think that kernel panic could write something in BIOS chipset. For me it's something happened to your hard disk. I recommend to remove the actual hard disk and boot from another source to see if the corruption come from HDD or not. Any way I´ll give you the EC/BIOS but be carefull, your machine E412x/E412xQ-D/E412xQ-CD has 2 software versions for 3 different motherboard versions which are nothing to do with the Q-D/CD extension. If you install the wrong software, you could harm your unit permanently. To check your motherboard version, you have to remove the RAM sticks and read what is written in a label under thair place on the motherboard itself.
For V3.x & V2.x : ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/E412xQ-xx/E412_005005.zip
For V2.xA : ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/E412xQ-xx/E412_104103.zip
in all cases, you run step1.bat to update EC firmware first, then run step2.bat to update system BIOS (of course under DOS see 1st post in this thread for more information) -
That is not correct. Its the same BIOS just with a splash screen
Sager cant edit the BIOS -
Hi, Can anybody tell me where i might find the latest BIOS for Clevo M59KE or any rev apart from original.
-
Alright fine, I'm wrong then.
-
Hi where I can find new BIOS Revision: 1.01.04fNS1 for Clevo P170HM ?
I notice that one user have newest bios in this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...-ocz-vertex-3-ssd-ahci-issue.html#post7414158 -
Thank you Mr. Pkhetan. Now my notebook is turned on again after three weeks down. Super.
ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/E412xQ-xx/E412_005005.zip
Yes you are correct that the kernel panic is not the cause of bios into corrupting, but corrupts the bios cause a kernel panic occurs. Now I am trying to find the cause of the BIOS become corrupted when installing Hackintosh OSX Snow Leopard. Actually OSX SL has been successfully installed, but the VGA kext (driver) has not worked perfectly because it is not supported by Apple yet. After run two or three hours later, the kernel panic will be occurs, then the notebook can turn on again which that never happened on my other notebook (HP brand) -
WOW, this machine is too old !!
Which GPU card do you have 7800GTX, 7900GTX, 7950GTX or FX2500M ? -
Still no official BIOS update. But there is:
1. EC firmware 1.00.05. 2011/4/22
2. Solve “enter S4/S5 in DC mode, the Wake on LAN function can’t work after plugging in AC power” issue.
ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/P170HM/EC_05.zip -
There is also a new EC for P15xHMx
1. EC firmware 1.00.05. 2011/4/22
2. Solve “enter S4/S5 in DC mode, the Wake on LAN function can’t work after plugging in AC power” issue. (need to update LAN driver to 6.0.26.6 or later)
ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/P15xHM/EC_05.zip -
Thank you pkhetan to keeping us updated, I'll reflash my P170HM with this EC but still waiting for new BIOS
-
Anything new for the X7200? -
