There is no update for that machine. The EC/BIOS shipped with is the latest.

    Hello friends!

It is a pleasure to be with the "beasts" of the laptops!

Well, for the Brazilians who have lost the key "?" after updating the Bios of Laptops Positivo, I describe below two palliative solutions:

    1 - Access the shortcuts:

    Ctrl + Alt + W = "?"
    Ctrl + Alt + Q = "/"

2 - Use the application "Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4"

Has a full tutorial here (in Portuguese):
Como mudar as teclas do seu teclado | blogplus

In my case, changed the "\" key with the SHIFT that originally activated generates the character "|" I do not use for anything.
So, my new key "?" it is now SHIFT + \ = ?
Tested successfully on Windows XP-SP3 and Windows 7-SP1 32bits.

Well, whoever has the character map EC original Positivo, you can send me?

P.S.1: After updating the bios I got here, I am now a happy owner a turbocharged Positivo V43:
    CPU = Core2Duo T5600 1.83GHz/667MHz
    2GB RAM, 667MHz
    HD 500GB 7200rpm

P.S.2: Did I install 4GB of 667MHz RAM this laptop seamlessly in a single comb?
The VN896 chipset supports 4GB, but the new Bios?

    I hope I have contributed ...

    Hugs Mamado

I have Clevo P170HM from mySN European reseller. If I update my P170HM with latest BIOS from Sager support is there a possibility to charm my notebook? In the past i installed BIOS from official Clevo ftp (links from this thread thanks to pkhetan) and everything works but still i have unexpected freezes. Sager announced that they resolved this problem with newest BIOS. My reseller is stubborn and says that the BIOS version 1.01.03 is latest, but it didn't help with freezes issue.

Already my BIOS revision is 1.01.02 and EC/KBC is 1.00.03, I know that Sager support sends BIOS revision 1.01.05NS1 and KBC-EC 1.00.02c via support channel but they don't want to send it to me.

Right now Clevo P170HM is available to buy with Radeon HD 6970 and GTX 485M are there two different version of BIOS for each gfx card or not??

    Thanks for help

the ATI and Nvidia cards each have their own VBios version (naturally), but as far as the general laptop BIOS / EC is concerned, theres no difference, they both run on the same version.

<strike> NP8130/NP8150 P150HM Sager branded BIOS Version: 1.01.08 April 2011 Original ISO Version</strike> I'm removing the link to this since I don't want people who had flashed the generic Clevo bios previously to end up in a situation I was in for a time, Sorry for the inconvenience.
If you still want this bios PM me.

NP8130/NP8150 P150HM Sager branded EC Version: 1.00.05 April 2011 Original ISO Version

First links have been extracted from the hdd emulation mode bootable ISO Sager had them in so you can use them with the bootable method of your choice.

Do not flash these unless you know what you're doing and have your bios settings at default, Check your current bios version beforehand, if you have a Sager laptop you received late in April chances are you're already running 1.01.08 bios, the posted EC update may still be newer however.

If you have any doubt, contact and request these updates from Sager.

I initially had issues after flashing to 1.01.08 after flashing the generic Clevo 1.01.06 bios and Clevo EC 1.00.04 but am now running with that same EC and the Sager bios.
The issue included not being able to boot after flashing, Sager had to solve the issue.

I take no responsibility for flashing either of these, they're only posted for reference and for those who know what they're doing, You have been warned.

As far as I know it is, I had requested the updated fan table EC from Sager to get that version.
If you're running the generic Clevo bios I don't exactly recommend flashing these updates though, at least not the bios update straight away.

Which file do you run to flash these? The Clevo packages had an update.bat file, but these don't.

These packages just have the Autoexec.bat that came with them, it loads a disclaimer at boot saying what model laptop it's for (NP8130/NP8150) and any key continues to flash.

If you want more control you can modify the .bats from the Clevo releases for use with these packages.

My p170HM has an annoying constant fan ramping up and down but one user says his does not have that behaviour. I compared my Bios version with his and it is different.

    They have:

    BIOS: 1/01/05LS2
    EC: 1.00.03

    But I have:

    BIOS: 1.01.02
    EC: 1.00.05

They have the HD6970M and I have the GTX 485M though. Does anyone know about the P170HM's 1.01.05LS2 Bios?

    @LaptopNut

I believe they got that BIOS directly from Sager. You need to email their support team and manually ask for the update.

Can anybody share this BIOS 1.01.05NS1 and KBC-EC 1.00.02c received from SAGER support for Clevo P170HM ?

I talked with Sager them and they don't want to send me, told me that there is posibility to brick notebook: "All we can say is users have to take their own risk that they may be bricking their unit, and it will need to be send in to their point of purchase for recovery if in the event of a failed BIOS update when they are updating BIOS from 3rd party sources.

we can tell you that the reason Sager has not posted any BIOS updates to custom gaming laptops - Welcome to Sager Notebooks for these new models is due to the new AMI bios used on these units are more special then past units, the bios for these new units has different command switches needed with different BIOS customizations and when incorrect command switch is used the system will become unusable until it’s recovered using a HW reflash tool.

At this time we are working closely with Clevo to improve the user friendliness of BIOS updating for these models and once it’s completed we will once again post BIOS updates on www.sagerntoebook.com for these models. "

    Hi,

does anyone know if there is an bios update for W150HRM / 5165? My current bios is 1.01.02 and kbc ec 1.00.01

VT-X is disabled in this version and I would need it enabled, so is there a newer version?

    Best regards

I'm not sure if I had posted that before, since Blacky did'nt put it in his first post.

Solve “enter S4/S5 in DC mode, the Wake on LAN function can’t work after plugging in AC power” issue. (need to update LAN driver to 6.0.26.6 or later)

    1. System BIOS 1.01.06 for P170HM only.

Can anyone give me a link to the W7xxCU EC/BIOS?

I have a W765CU that had ancient bios and actually updated to the latest W7xxCUH ec/bios which solved my SATA problem but my webcam disappeared. I'm nut sure how the CU and CUH models differ but I saw there's a seperate section at the clevo website.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi everyone.

Can you give me a link to a W76xTUN bios, if existent? I'm having some trouble with the fan controlling gpu temps, and I'm hoping a bios update could fix it.

Currently, according to BIOS info itself:
    System BIOS: 1.02.25IN
    EC: 1.00.15

    I have Sager NP8170

    I currently have bios 1.01.05LS2
    KBC / EC 1.00.03
It makes sense to update? You can see the difference?
Is any version of the BIOS muted fan?

When Clevo releases an update, the release note talks about the major enhancements only, but there may be still other non-announced enhancements.

It's personal, but for me, I like always that my BIOS & all my firmwares to be up-to-date.

Thanks. I'm also not really sure if it'll work, but I'll try it and see what happens :D

Just one question: since I already have the EC up-to-date, it's ok to skip directly to the BIOS flash, right?

Oh and by the way, the link was dead for me, but modifying the url to "cftp" fixed it.

Where did you check on W150HRM? How can I find out when they do arrive?

    Thanks.
