No worries, i only use it when benching my overclocks.

It's not a real bother but i hope it does get fixed some day.

I've just check now, and still there is nothing from Clevo side.
Why don't you ask XoticPC?, I think the LS2 is not a new version, it's only a small modification.

    For the W27xHUx:

    1. System BIOS 1.01.02 and EC firmware 1.00.02.
    2. Update CPU micro code.
    3. Support CPU VT function.
    4. Modify Fn+F2 backlight on/off procedure.
    5. Run step1.bat to update EC firmware, run step2.bat to update system BIOS.

Thank you very much pkhetan, you are really a great help.

This is already the updated bios with VT enabled for the W270HU and the
    solution for the whole problem.

    ¡muchas gracias!

    For the W1x0HNx

    1. System BIOS 1.01.11 and EC firmware 1.00.02.
    2. Solve “sometimes Fn+F3 has no function” issue.
    3. Modify fan table.
    4. Run step1.bat to update EC firmware, run step2.bat to update system BIOS.

Any chance we will ever see an update to the P170HM/NP8170? The fan is driving me nuts, when it keeps shutting off and spinning up again.

What I would prefer is if the fans could be kept off until the CPU and GPU reached around 50C, however I doubt we'll ever see such fan tables.

    Oh, good to know!

Any chance this can be done for the CPU too? I wouldn't care if the idle temp even were as high as 60C, as long as the fan is OFF instead of turning on and off constantly.

    Oh hell yes! :D

I just rolled this EC onto my Kobalt G150 and it's tuned the fans beautifully. They're much less aggressive on spindown now. Where before it would continually cycle between off/low while idle at about 20C RT, now it's sitting stable at the lowest speed.

Careful. 1.00.11 is EC Firmware, and I advise you do that.

The fan table seems to be more tolerable. BIOSwise, you are up to date. :D

If you already have the EC 1.00.05, then you can directly update the BIOS to 1.01.07

Where I can get new BIOS and EC for P170HM? And where I can find instructions how flash to new BIOS? Is it easy?
    Currently I have BIOS v. 4.6.4 (05/13/2011).

There is a NEW BIOS for W150HRx/W170HR :

    ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/ ALLBIOS/ W1x0HRx/BIOS_105.zip

    This
    Support TI USB3.0 controller M/B
but you need to wait until Clevo FTP server go up again
