Thanx. Are there any details about fan table changes of EC/KBC V 1.00.11? F.e, i would like the fans to level up at lower temps than current ones, i don't care about noise.

hi! i have bought my laptop from greece which is called here "Turbo X Maestro" but its the clevo w170hn with these spesifications:
17,3" monitor (1600x900)
intel core i7
6gb ram
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M (1024 MB)
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family (2905176 KB)

is there any update for my bios/firmware? my bios version now is HR_2.1.0.128 X64

 

Hi,
I don't think that the HR_2.1.0.128 X64 is the BIOS version, in order to know your BIOS version in Clevo based system, you have to enter in the System Setting when you boot your machine (normally by F2)
Anyway, if you are sure that you have a Clevo W170HN, then here is the last firmware:

System BIOS 1.01.11 and EC firmware 1.00.02
Solve “sometimes Fn+F3 has no function” issue.
Modify fan table.
Run step1.bat to update EC firmware, run step2.bat to update system BIOS.

I'd like to ask about the changes on the P150HM/P151HM's newest BIOS. It says "Modify Fan Table." So that's basically saying that the thresholds have been changed? Theoretically it will overspin less?

 

Yes it's safe but be sure to Run step1.bat to update EC firmware first, then run step2.bat to update system BIOS.
The FTP is on now.

I have no P150HM to test it, but may some member here can come and answer this question.......

 

Yeah it will spin less in idle mode, i have read people complaining about the fan spinning fast when it is running in idle mode, to tell the true i don't have that issue on my P170HM so i guess there won't come any bios file for that

Heh no we have our own login etc to the FTP there are some other new updates that just came out today that we wanted to grab for the P series, but alas the stupid thing went back down hehe.

Hi.My machine is Sager NP8170,but only BIOS1.01.02 works well.Other versions cause frequence blue screen.Now I'm using BIOS1.01.02+EC1.00.06.
But 1.01.02 doesn't support XTU...what should I do with my bios and ec now?

 

First of all, your NP8170 comes with the 3D screen or the normal screen?

Try to downgrade to EC 1.00.05; and then upgrade to BIOS 1.01.08

Clevo always recommend to upgrade EC before BIOS. Apparently, in some updates, it's dangerous to do the contrary.

anyone tried the new EC/KBC V 1.00.11 for np8130/8150 to tell the differences for the new fan table???

firstly sorry for my bad english.

I have purchassed a Clevo X8100 on february 2011.

Until February 2011 i have lot of trouble with it! and the customer service don't do anything for me.

1. Unable to use the computer with the battery, he reboot or crash in less than 5 min exept if i don't install the ati driver and use the windows oine, then i can use the computers with the battery

2. unable to boot the computer with a cd/dvd in the blueray writer, when i'm on windows, he do like if i don't have any reader/writer device. i can't even press the eject button he don't work. if i reboot the computer he stay on the bios logo and reboot always. So to boot properly i have to boot without cd/dvd inside the device, then when i'm in windows i can use cd/dvd

3. for 2 week now i have frequent bsod (bluescreen of death), sometimes 15-20 times a day. i have tried to format the computer 2 times. that changed nothing

did you know what i can do? did you think updating the bios can change something? where to find the correct bios? i read that clevo say to update too the ec before updating the bios but what's ec?

current bios: 1.00.11 (now 1.00.14)
Current KBC/EC: 1.00.07 (now 1.00.08)
PS: i have tried different ati driver (the one provided on the clevo website) and other from the amd web site but tha't changed nothing, always bluescreen

during the memory test i have restarted the test 3 times cause the computers shuted down for unknow reasons, for the last test i have raised the back of computer from few cm (around 10) so it can get fresh air more easely.

i have done a memtest86 4.20 with the last ultimate boot cd and no memory error.

i have updated the bios to 1.00.14 and the ec to 1.00.08 that changed nothing.

 

Thanks for the update, i won't use it though because i have a i7 2720QM and i am not planning to add a new cpu in my laptop

pkhetan can supply a picture about the features, but i doubt it has more.

 

Actually it's the only published feature, but sometimes there are some minor unpublished improvements.

 

All ok with sftp , now i have bios W150HRM 1.01.05
(EC 1.00.01 don't change)..

 

Try downloading with internet explore, worked for me. Firefox on the other hand did not work with their ftp server.

Is there any more recent BIOS for the M77SU than 1.00.12, and what EC goes with that? I have the .12 bios file but would appreciate a link to the most recent EC.

 

For the M77xSU, the last BIOS is .12, last EC is .11

On the other hand, there is a new EC/BIOS for M76xSU/M74xSU :
System BIOS 1.00.14 and EC firmware 1.00.19

Are Malibal Satori P170HM laptops not sharing the same bios as Clevo P170HM laptops ?

 

As far as I know they use stock Clevo BIOS, so they share the same BIOS with all other Clevo notebooks except Sager of course. But I would rather have them answer that.

Hello, I just recently received my clevo p170hm and I'm just trying to understand this whole bios and kbc/ec thing as well as learn.

This is what my bios is currently using (if i press F2 during startup)

bios revision 1.01.07
kbc/ec firmware revision 1.00.06

According to the first page it seems as though the bios has been updated to 1.01.08 but the kbc/ec is still at 1.00.05.

Maybe this needs updating on the front page?

Also I was wondering what is the ami aptio setup utility 2.10.1208, this has a copyright of 2010 on it. Is there any newer version? Does this have anything to do with the bios? Basically what is it?

The ami website is very difficult to navigate, I have no clue if this is up to date, or how to check.

Also because ami states that aptio is basically a uefi bios firmware, the flash for it is dated 4/4/2011 but the read me file is dated back to 2008.

If someone could help me understand I'd appreciate it.

The Version 1.11 did not work for me, because windows said that the acpi tables are broken -> bluescreen on startup.

Then I would say, try again and download again. Because for me it is working and when you have the same model the ACPI tables can´t be broken by you and working by me (because they are the same).

 

Ah okay, strange how they haven't got the .06 up on the clevo site, not that I'm complaining .

Does anyone know what this ami aptio stuff is, according to ami it is a efi bios. I'd like to know what the difference is between aptio and the clevo bios?
