@drhex give me an email address and I'll send you the latest BIOS 1.01.14.
I received today from Sager, works fine.
-
My Clevo is not a Sager, so I don't think it is wise to switch bios-series.
Anyway, I downloaded EC 1.00.12 and bios 1.01.14 via the link in the first post in this thread, and installed them.
Still no USB power while suspended and the touchpad is still auto-enabled on wake-from suspend.
Does it work the same way for machines that run Windows? -
I started having issues using the Bios 1.01.05 and EC/KBC 1.00.06 on my P170HM3. Random crashes and lockups.
I went back to Bios 1.01.03 and EC/KBC 1.00.05 and haven't had any more of those issues.
So I can't recommend Bios 1.01.05 or EC/KBC 1.00.06. I don't know which one has the issue but they sure didn't improve anything for me over what is stable. -
Don`t flash back to any Sager Bios now...it will brick your computer and you will have to send it in...

Here´s a weird bug that i get with latest Bios and EC for P170HM:
Turn on your laptop open IRST, if you have a SSD Sata3 you will notice it is in fact operating in SATA3 mode = 6GB/S, but if you Restart the computer it will turn to SATA2 mode = 3GB/s, this only happen if you restart so i always have to SHUTDOWN.
I´m talking about this:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
If i "Restart" it turns into SATA2 3GB/s, if i shutdown and then turn on again it will work fine.
My P170HM is runing 2x Intel 510SSD (non raid at the moment - it´s AHCI) will soon go back to RAID -
I have a Clevo W150HNM/W170HN Notebook and my problem is the fan speed. Sometimes it's complete off and most of the time the fan is very loud.
Is there any chance to set up the fan speed manually? -
Try Fn + 1 -
Have a Clevo bios installed on my Sager NP8170 ATM.
I read somewhere that flashing sager on top of Clevo bricks you because after the EC flash shuts down your computer, it refuses to boot because the bios and the EC disagree about some cert. or something (I dunno... I read it on the internet. it has to be true.)
2 part question:
1. How retarded would it be to flash them back to back without rebooting? (to possibly prevent the check that causes the system to not boot when going clevo->sager)
2. If there is such a check, then how come the system boots fine in between the EC and BIOS flashes when going from Sager->Clevo? -
Hi all
I have a clevo w150hrm MB with Ameritrend Bios, was wondering if I can update the bios with clevo's bios, havin issues with probably the fan, laptop shuts down ingame just after fan goes crazy... tnx -
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
Who is your dealer or reseller? I would ask them first.
_ -
You can flash the P15X, P17X models from Sager > Clevo, the problem arises while going back from Clevo > Sager.
But i was thinking the same thing (flashing EC&Bios without the shutdown/reboot strings in the .bat).
But as i am currently 10.000 miles away from my reseller i wouldn`t be brave enough to try it.
-
Welll the thing is, it is a local shop using a 'blank' laptop as their own brand. the driver-cd that came with it is from BTO, went to their site but couldn't find any bios updates. So i thought i'd ask here, maybe someone has had a similar experience and can give me advice. Is it wrong of me to assume that if it's a clevo MB, all clevo biosses for this model should work, as in not brick it? tnx for the reply btw
-
Just check what your bios reports as current Bios and EC versions.
Usually Sager Bios have some letters like "LS..." behind the bios name...
-
If you are talking about BTO from Belgium as far as I know they use Clevo MB.
-
I am certain it is a clevo MB, so I downloaded the latest biosfile from ftp://usftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/
I read in the first post how to flash the bios using a bootable USB-stick, but i can't seem to find the ec/kbc files for this bios, could anyone point me in the right direction? I want to update to HRM version 107 (have a W 150 HRM MB) tnx for all the replies so far guys, appreciate it

Hi All,
I was wondering if somebody can help me here. I have a Optimus II laptop, which is also known as a Clevo W170HR running Windows 7 SP1 64 bit, and I have the latest BIOS for my laptop, but the software in the archive for the latest BIOS won't update my BIOS because it is not 64bit compatible, and there is no EC file. So can somebody help and tell how I am supposed to update my BIOS.
May thanks in advance.
Mark Leach -
The EC/KBC are a separate thing from the BIOS. There is one flash for the BIOS and another one for the EC/KBC.
-
Yeah, true that... my laptop's my main class, work, and play computer... don't want to risk it.
Anyone ever tried flashing EC and BIOS without rebooting in between?
Are there any brave individuals out there that have a Clevo BIOS on a Sager NP81{5/7}0, that live next door to their Sager reseller and that feel like trying to flash EC->BIOS back to back?
WARNING: This is UNTESTED. Even if it succeeds, it may not prevent BRICKING your laptop.
Here's the latest sager NP8170 EC and bios -- combined into a single zip w/ a single update.bat as an attempt at preventing MASONRY when flashing Sager ROMs over Clevo ROMs.
EC V 1.00.06
System BIOS V 1.01.10 LS3

WARNING AGAIN: This is UNTESTED. Even if it succeeds, it may not prevent BRICKING your laptop. -
I asked for ec/kbc because i was advised to first flash ec/kbc then the bios. Sometimes apparently the ec/kbc files are provided with the bios-files, not in this case, that's why I asked if anyone knows where I could find ec/kbc files for a clevo w150hrm mainboard with latest bios...

I have bought a clevo p150hm and I have a little problem...
My ddr3 are G.skill at 1600mhz but they only run at 1140mhz on benchmarks as AIDA64.
Does anybody have a solution ? -
Not here but, by coincidence it's not XMP?
-
Does G.skill have 1600 JEDEC modules?
Can you give us a link to the product? -
That's because there is no newer EC/KBC.
-
I don't no if it's XMP module.
This is the product: G.SKILL-Products -
EDIT: You bet me to it...lol
What capacity and how many RAM banks used?
What CPU are you using?
Please do this:
You can read your RAM XMP profiles with Taiphoon Burner:
Thaiphoon Burner - Official Support Website
Keep F8 pressed when you start your computer and select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement"
http://crystalmark.info/information/...viceDriver.png
In Thaiphoon "dump" your RAM and look up the supported XMP profiles in the "report". -
I love G.skill and still buy their products but I recently had to return some desktop ram for a very similar issue. I tried the following in this order to try to get it to work but it didn't:
1. Changed in bios from auto set the ram speed to manually making it the 1600mhz.
2. Left it auto and OC'd the voltage on it. (went from stock 1.5 to 1.7...got the speed i wanted but it was unstable so went back down to 1.5)
3. Disabled Turbo performance in my bios (read it on another forum it is seemed to help that guy)
Finally after trying all these and chatting with G.skill I returned them and got a new set. Worked perfectly. May just be faulty RAM. -
Is there a bios to fix the pulsing of the fn + 1 function and to fix the low fan speed during gaming on 6970m ?
-
From looking atthe current bios i have the p170hmx with bios revision 1.01.02 and kbc/ec 1.00.03 what do i upgrade it to to fix the fan issue??
-
The pusling maybe a litle better, but is not yet fixed on FN+1 Speeds...
EC/KBC V 1.00.06 (you may try 08, some people face a sudden speed up of
fans every now and then with it, some don´t)
BIOS 1.01.10 -
But does the fans work better I.e will kick off well before it hits 90??
-
The processor fan will go on high at 71c and throttle to low once 55c is reached.
At 95c the CPU will be throttled and at 100C the OS will shutdown the machine. -
Good to know ^^... Mmhh, I will be getting my P170HM very soon, and I will use it A LOT for work and Gaming.
I usually never power-down my machines since I sleep with them on (usually downloading
).
Will my config (on my signature) idle under 55C even when my room temperature is around 27C (80.6F)?
If so, Do you guys recommend upgrading to the latest bios for better temperatures while gaming or just stick with the original that I get from my retailer? -
when does the GPU fans kick in?? cause right now with the stock bios it only kicks in high at 90s
-
That´s in the gpu bios...
-
Oh I see where can i get the latest gpu bios??
-
I remember on my previous machine the Fan control on both the CPU and GPU were
on the System Bios, and the
vBios was for stuff like Voltages, clocks and unlock features.
So, on the default bios the Fans on the Graphic card kick until 90C?! that's a bit high isn't ? -
90C yeah and its not even on even blowing at high, probably around medium.
I dont think its greatly to do with paste etc as when idle it is around mid to high 40s. some might still consider this to be high but I think its okay. How ever when playing games that has high gpu load such as crysis 2 or witcher 2 it hits the 90C mark. -

This is original Clevo gtx580m version 70.24.31.00.02 from 07/27/11 -
Woohoo, I got the 2920xm.
Bloody fast.
-
HI .... i need the last bios for clevo W76TUN.
THANKS -
What exactly is wrong with the latest ec/kcb for the p170hm??
-
Hi all!
I am reading this thread for about 2.5 hours now....
And WOW......
There are some people here at this forum that are very kind and helpfull!
Thank you all for that.
Okay, here is my question...;
I am the proud owner of a X8100-2xATI5870. (CLEVO.CO)
It is a wonderfull notebook, but...., with a very simple BIOS.
And that BIOS is;
BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies LTD CALPELLACRB.86C.0000.X.0000000000, 10-05-2010.
This is what CPU-Z tells me.
I have seen the same Bios over and over again, but everytime with a different date.
I wonder if there is a newer BIOS-version for my notebook, that is more extensive than the one i have.

@hondaygo, I would recommend that you check with your reseller to make sure you are getting the latest bios package for your unit.

@ Larry...
I think you are right.
Saw this wonderfull site, and registered to see what my options are.
Thanks for your response.

would you please share W1xHN11102.zip again by emailing to me?

I can't access Dropbox as a Chinese noob...and thank you first. -
Hello all
I'm having BIG issues with my new machine, after the windows 7 Install my computer restarted like it normally does but when the windows logo is loading I get a BSOD...
The Error is this:
The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compilant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated Bios.
STOP: 0x000000A5 (0x0001000A, 0x00000000,0x00000000,0x00000000)
I have tried 3 Hard drives one M4 SSD and 2 different Seagate Momentus 500Gb 7200 RPM with the same result.
My bios info is this:
BIOS Rev. 1.01.05
KBC/EC: 1.00.08
I have tried already with 3 different versions of windows first the Windows 7 Ultimate x64, then Windows Home premium x64 then Windows Business edition x86 and the problem persist.
Do anybody here have a suggestion to fix this issue? Any help with be greatly appreciated!
This is the picture of my error:
Thanks. -
Have you tried setting the BIOS to the default settings?
In BIOS (Press F2 during boot) - Choose the option - Load Setup Defaults -
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
^^^^ I would check with your reseller on this "BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compilant" issue. I do know that some have found in the past that it was a memory issue. Not sure in this case.
_ -
Hello!
I was actually doing that while posting looking for solutions, they helped me a lot
The Agent from MALIBAL stayed with me for over 2 hours to solve this problem
, they even searched the web for more options.
In the end the solution was to install a Microsoft Windows 7 Pro, I dont know whats wrong with my Windows 7 x64 Ultimate in spanish but it looks like that solved the whole problem ^^
Anyways, I will be making a full review on this machine very soon, for now I'm trying to figure out how to remove the lid of the Optical device to place it on my 2nd HDD Caddy (for the 3rd Hard drive), I truly don't want to break it... =p -
