    I know, I wasn't being sarcastic or anything, although it would have been nice if someone had just said that it was down for everyone. Never mind, though, all is well.

    The P180HM has been added to the initial post with its latest BIOS files. The X8100 has been moved to the older Clevo models thread.

    From now on, all BIOS files will be hosted by bestmail.ws, service provided by zakazak.

    It sounds like you're trying to run it in Windows. Did you actually create the DOS disk and boot that? You just need to run the setup.bat from there and it should automatically install.

    Can those new bios updates for the P180HM be used on a Malibal machine? Or do I need to get the updates from them?

    As long as your laptop it is not Sager branded, you can use these updates.

    You should be fine using any of the Clevo bio's listed in this thread. Just be sure that you never try to upgrade to a Sager branded Bios in the future, or you may brick the machine.

    I applied both new updates for the P180HM and I'm pretty pleased. The fan tables for xfire 6990's seem to have been adjusted. Before I could only notice 3 fan speeds. Now there seem to be 4. The fourth kicks in at around 85*C and helps cooling a good amount. It isn't really noticeably louder either. Just slightly.

    Hi,

    I have a Clevo M761SUN and I ran in to the problem that I can't find the BIOS updates on the Clevo site and I don't want to download them from somewhere else. So I wondered whether anyone could give me a download link to the latest BIOS for it?

    Hi all,

    Concerning the P170HM (LDLC Bellone)

    I just upgraded EC to 1.00.09 and BIOS to 1.01.10.

    I didn't notice any big change in fan management. Still on/off effect.

    Perhaps a little bit quieter but not sure. Seems the problem is solved for the P150HM.

    Thx for your work.

    You can't "flash a CMOS battery". A battery is a battery, not ROM. If you mean to flash the Bios, check the first page on this thread for info on how to create a DOS disk. You'll have to contact your retailer for the bios files though.

    Flashed Sager 5160 to Clevo w150NHQ. Is it possible to flash Sager BIOS now? I have an ISO image of Sager BIOS, but it pops up an error.

    Check the first post. You don't have the latest version, but it seems you have a Sager BIOS so it's not recommended to flash to a Clevo BIOS (we only have stock CLEVO BIOS for your model).

    For now, I don't think flashing your BIOS will help. I have also a P170HM and flashing my BIOS had no significant improvements. And there is still a risk during the operation.

    Thanks. But i have a situation here. If i want to fit new SSD, is there be any problem if i didn't update my bios?
    because, i had a conversation with Crucial online help.They said that i have to update my bios and install AHCI software so that i can used my SSD.
    im really confuse here.

    What i know, i have to fit the SSD.then boot up.
    then go to bios setting, shage the drives from sata to AHCI.
    then continue line normal window installation.
    (is this steps correct?)

    If you're on a Sager NP8170, DON'T FLASH TO CLEVO.

    If you already have flashed Clevo EC and BIOS onto your Sager NP8170, as I had done, it is possible (THOUGH NOT EASY NOR RECOMMENDED) to get back to Sager with reduced likelihood of bricking your laptop.

    First of all, get a fresh EC/BIOS from Sager.
    They send them wrapped up in ISOs in a way that makes it very hard to get at the roms... but you need to get them. I did it by making a virtual machine in vmware, having it boot the ISO, ctrl-c ing the autoexec script, and copying the scripts and ROMs out to a virtual disk... then I mounted the virtual disk to my real OS, and profited.

    After you have the roms and scripts in hand, you need to combine the two AUTOEXEC.bat's into a single update.bat file as follows:
    -paste the content of the EC file first.
    -**IMPORTANT** DELETE THE /SHUTDOWN SWITCH FROM THE LINE THAT FLASHES THE EC!
    -paste the content of the BIOS file second

    My modified update.bat ended up looking like:
    Code:
    @echo off
    echo   ***********************************************************
    echo   DOIT?
    echo   ***********************************************************
    pause
    @echo on
    afudos EcP170hm.06 /E /X
    @echo off
    echo   ***********************************************************
    echo   DOIT?
    echo   ***********************************************************
    pause
    @echo on
    afudos P170HM10.ls3 /P /B /N /K /shutdown %1 %2 %3 %4
    I threw that on a thumb drive with a copy of afudos from one of the Sager ISOs and successfully flashed back from Clevo to Sager without bricking my computer.

    If the EC flash works and the BIOS flash doesn't work, YOU CANNOT REBOOT YET, or you'll have the same issue doing the normal Sager flash process causes (a.k.a. masonry)... you need to use another computer or smartphone to google your issue and fix it on that command line without restarting.

    In conclusion:
    Two separate flashes on two separate boots (normal update.bat's force this, hence the need for modifications) == BRICK
    Sager EC on top of Clevo EC --> Sager BIOS on top of Clevo BIOS --> reboot --> PROFIT

    If your computer turns off between flashing the Sager EC and the Sager BIOS, it's very likely to stay that way.

    Just flash any stock Clevo BIOS for your model and you should have English keyboard.

    I can longer browser Clevo's US BIOS website. ASCII mode no longer works, I haven't tried binary to see if that one works.

    In the mean-time, if there are any updates, I will upload the BIOS files from a different source.

    DUDE that FTP was WIDE open after they set it up freshly end of last month. You could download current pricelists and service manuals for all models...the best thing was they used a cracked software to do it and left the crack on the site...that could cost them a fortune...want a screenshot...? :rolleyes:

    Hi Blacky,
    Thank you for your kind reply. My laptop is SIM+ 1455 positivo and I found it's matching Clevo m7x0s following this forum http://forum.clubedohardware.com.br/positivo-sim/483161?
    . I try all bios from version 13 till 22 and non of them works. One more thing, the original keyboard now is typing double characters like R correspond to GR and I to i7 or O to o9 and the US keyboard everything is fine except QWES and UP key doesn't works.

    You can, but if you have a Portuguese keyboard you will lose your Portuguese layout and revert to an English one.

    It is still possible I think to change your keyboard from within Windows.

    I don't mind to loose the Portuguese layout and tried also the windows with no success. the keys are not working in pre-windows stage. Every time when have to load different bios update it's a hassle to configure USB Key to be primary since up key is not working. Every time have to go trough PageUP. :(

    Hi Blacky,
    I had a success, my man, so much thank you. Every single key is in place. The way I got it is to unplug the power cord between the bios flashes. Will never guess if didn't got frustrated and unplug the laptop, after a few minutes I cool out and surprisingly found that the EC took charge. Apparently bios flash utility restart is not enough! What a relief bro. Thank you again.

    Hey guys, my fan on my laptop tends to not spin very fast unless it hits 100c so I was thinking I needed to update my bios.

    BIOS: 1.01.07
    KBC/EC: 1.00.1
    System Model: W150HRM

    If updating doesnt work my reseller as agreed to spend me new fan and thermal paste so I will try that next.

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hey guys!

    I'm new here, sorry for any trouble.

    I have a W150HRM with the Core i5 2410M processor, and the BIOS version is 1.01.02, with the KBC/EC 1.00.01 version. I want to know if I can update the BIOS to the 1.01.09 version (I downloaded it from the ftp://cftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/W1x0HRx/ site) without problems. I have to update the KBC/EC firmware too or it's not necessary? Is better that I make a backup of the stock BIOS? Does anybody here updated the BIOS to the 09 version?

    Thanks for the help!
