I think there are some download links for your machine around the forum. Have you tried searching for them ?

    Hey guys,

Which BIOS would you recommend me for a Clevo x7200? Currently I'm on a Sager BIOS as I had to install it to use Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility. Its the 1.00.07 according to the registry.

    Thanks in advance!

Clevo hasn`t released any EC or BIOS updates for that model yet.

Could you do me a favour and please dump your BIOS with afuwin and upload here?

Funny part is that either Clevo uses the same bios for W150ER & W170ER (only W110ER has a different BIOS) or your reseller flashed the W150ER BIOS to your W170ER. ;)
I think its the first one (that`s why LOL Clevo)

The link above is version 06 (stock bios) for W150ER & "W170ER", you have version 05! ;)

Yes I`ll port the W110 ER Mod to W150 ER/W170 ER in the near future!
People interested in beta testing may PM me about it. :D

As for the W- HM series. I`ll look into that later.

But i have to say, my laptop bottom says w170hrm or something and my bios is w150hrm and it works lol and the vbios mod with 0.912 or something works aswell even thought you said on the other thread to me it wont work...you rememeber ? it was on Bios-mod website. I would love to donate if you could make me feel abit more free with overclock or my 8GB drr3 it says on CPU Z its only 665.2MHz
    CAS Latency (CL) 9.0clocks
RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD) 9 clocks
    RAS Precharge (tRP) 9 clocks
    Cycle time (tRAS) 24 clocks

its what cpu Z says i mean i believe i have 1333 aswell

So they did the same for the W1x0 HM models (150/170 sharing same bios). THX for the info! :)
I`ll look into the W-Series HMs once I find a free moment.

cannot see any sign of reseller unpacking to make my request to upgrade ram to 1600mhz
the have given me those ram they announced.
    kinston (khx1600c9s3k2/8gx)
but I checked and they are xmp ram.

I told them the problem. but won't give me new working matching ram for the w170er before they have the old ones. or else they will give me a credit for the different price. I beliebe they have had clevo make the upgrade on there behave.
So to all clevo owners make shore you get working ram.
it is so unprof. not checking things like that!

is there anyway flashing ram without paying for thaipoon? like the program but not gonna use it wery much.

    on aida64 it shows DRAM Slot #1 4 GB (DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM)
    DRAM Slot #2 4 GB (DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM)

    Module Name Samsung M471B5273CH0-CH9
    Bus Type Dual DDR3 SDRAM
    Real Clock 667 MHz (DDR)
    Effective Clock 1333 MHz

if anyone is able to tell me how to get max performance out of w150Hrm / w170hr i would donate good!

So far ive got only the Bios mod which allow me somehow to get 0.912 volt on 555m GT and i can overclock it to 750 stable :) can someone go edit it to go higher than 0.912x ? i tried with amibcp but i cant find the option. Probably my knownledge not enough

Wait, you are talking about stock RAM ? I thought you wanted HyperX ram. I only know how to do it for HyperX modules and even on those, changing one parameter from stock XMP profiles makes the system unbootable.

You may have the option but only Kingston HyperX memories actually have XMP profiles, the rest are just stock memories.

    Hello,

I've been searching for Clevo w150hrm BIOS mod to enable hardware virtualization for Intel's. I've read a plenty load of pages from this thread, hoping to find a link to a BIOS version which could enable it, but, as I remember, you usually request the user to PM someone (It's been some time since I read this forum last time, so I don't remember who exactly, but I suppose this person is Prema).

So, please, could you give me some guidance about "upgrading" my w150hrm BIOS and where could I find it, in order to enable hardware virtualization?
    My CPU is an i5-2520M.

    Best regards.

EDIT: I've just read this post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/8600300-post2262.html

So I suppose this W15HRMmod.zip ( http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Unlock-Clevo-W150HRM?pid=43609#pid43609) is a good to go, right?

I still need some guidance about the how-to (I haven't downloaded that yet, maybe it contains a readme), but I may still search for it LOL

But please, tell me if that zip is ok.

    EDIT: No readme, just a .09 :/

You may have to use the afudos.exe & update.bat from the original 09 BIOS and use the flashing-guide in my sig. ;)

Also a little carefull with that BIOS (just for the record. Its not done by me), it enables a lot of non-functional and harmful stuff, so just use the switches you are confident with. :)

I had the same problem with my MM-Vision machine, and yeah, it's a pretty stupid thing to do.

They did offer me to send me a packaging slip so I could return the laptop at no cost to me. They should do the same for you - they messed up and need to fix the error.

You're in no way entitled to new RAM before you return the old.

Just to mention that I successfully changed the BIOS from my W150HRM.

For those who have read my posts and are not sure about what to do:

    Download this:
    ftp://sftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/W1x0HRx/BIOS_109.zip
    Then this:
    https://rapidshare.com/files/735319651/W15HRMmod.zip

After formatting a usb device (as in the guide from Prema's blog (just follow the formatting usb instruction)), extract what you downloaded in the first link to the usb device, then overwrite W15HRM.09 with the one that you can find inside the zip from the second link.

Boot from usb, if you extracted the files in the usb's root, just type update.bat, press enter and wait until your notebook shut down (or open update.bat and erase "/shutdown", may still work either way)

After that, you don't need to go to BIOS setup, hardware virtualization will be enabled "by default".

    @Prema

Here is the Malibal P150EM SE's BIOS version 1.00.04, looks like a Clevo BIOS, in case you are interested in one :D. I tried looking into the BIOS using AMIBCP 4.50.0.36, can't seem to find the config tab like in the Clevo HM BIOS.

That mention of AMIBCP brings one question to mind for me: how do we blind flash/recover on the 150EM if things go wrong?

I ordered my RAM before knowing about JEDEC and XMP. Setting timings manually in the BIOS would be a neat way to fix this problem.

I'll be reading up on those BIOS mod tools...

hackness is that the newest bios for the Malibal P150EM-SE. That's the laptop i have but i already have that bios version however i can't find any options for virtualization for a vmware machine i'm trying to get working. Would installing the 1.0.4 version from clevo not be a good idea? I've read that's what people use to get virtualization turned on so that they can run vmware virtual machines. I stick at the apple logo currently although my windows 7 one runs fine. Hoping to get Mac OS working so i don't have to go buy another laptop which i'm getting closer to doing now :(

This seems to be the newest for Malibal P150EM-SE. Which CPU do you have in yours? 3610QM doesn't support VT-d by the way.

Oh.. you got the Corsair Vengeance... Those are XMP RAMs and P150EM doesn't use XMP. If you happen to mod the BIOS and switch to XMP the laptop will only boot with XMP RAMs on it and can't reverse back. Return them and get JEDEC (PnP) RAMs might be a better idea.

I have the i7-3610QM in mine but according to the link below what you said is true i don't have the VT-d support but do have vt-x support. Now i'm not going to pretend i know what i'm talking about here but is vt-d nt what i need? what's the difference? and does that mean i won't be able to run Mac OS X via vmware on my laptop? Thank you for the help btw

VT-x is what you need to run Mac OS X via vmware, VT-d is for direct memory access. I'm not sure if VT-x is enabled in the bios 1.00.04 tho, the config tab was hidden when I tried to check it using AMIBCP. And it's clearly not showing up in the BIOS menu either.

So I'm gonna be alright as long as I can get it on then? I assume it's off by default cause if I boot mac os x in vmware it starts to boot but then I stick at the apple logo with the spinner below it and it never goes any further

What should I then do wait for an update or are there other tricks to check if it's on or not and ultimately enable it so that I can get the virtual machine runnong

There is no simple way (like rename the BIOS file and press a few buttons) to recover from a brick on the Clevos.
You either need a chip programmer or the official serial port recovery set (only Sager/Eurocom etc. do)

Yikes, that's a bit of a cold shower there... (I thought that blind recoveries were pretty much standard nowadays.)
To your knowledge, is the chip soldered or socketed?

Hackness, that would have been nice, but the whole 7970M mixup means that I'm past the RMA period.

No menu unlocks...only hardcodes...sorry, maybe in the future. ;)

They are all soldered (though mine are socketed, to bring you all the goodies) ;)

Desoldered the old chips with a small blow with a heatgun and then a soldering gun to put on the socket.

Always keep a bunch of programmed chips at hand so in case something that I try bricks it I just need to flip the chips and can keep on messing around. :D
