Did you try contacting Malibal's customer service? They have always been quick on reply.

If you want to run OS X w/ out any issues, then yes, getting a Mac is the right way to go.

Besides, unless something's changed, running OS X on non-Apple HW is still prohibited by the OS X EULA.

But how do you define non-Apple HW?

They still have the same Intel CPUs, WD HDDs, Samsung LCDs etc. in their machines...

    Hey all ,

Im new here , I just bought a month ago a Clevo P170EM with a GTX675m in it. Now i want to upgrade soon to a HD7970m , when ever i can find one .
But i readed that i have to have bios 1.00.3 to use the HD7970m ? I have at this moment from typing bios 1.00.1 . Is it true that you need 1.00.3 ? if so .
I never ever did usb flashing in dos .
I know i have to make the USB Fat32 so its bootable in Dos i did that and downloaded the prog USB - DOS so i downloaded the Bios 1.00.4 from the BTO website . Now how do i go furture from that ? i copy the fils into the Usb stick ? and when i get into dos booting from the usb what commands do i have to give ? Could anyway help me with this :( ?

If I remember correctly there are 2 update.bat files in that version.

Just type the name of the first .bat file and hit enter. So for example if it is named "update1.bat", then just type update1 and hit the enter button.
After the shutdown just repeat the same with the second .bat file and you are good. :)

    Cheers for the advise !
But i got it :p , i had to make the Usb bootable ( ofc )
Then i made a map called it clevo putted on the usb with the new bios in it .
Only this bios from BTO had a different proggram in it i had to do in dos :
DIR -> clevo showed up -> CD clevo -> then the prog that was in the bios ( i saw it later on ) meset.exe laptop booted in cold mode and then it came back and i had to type flashme.bat and afther that it was done and i was upgraded to Version 1.00.4 thanks for the suppport tough ! :)

    6990m heatsink is compatible

    minimum PSU should be 180W

ull also need a modified vBIOS in order for the card to run properly in HM series machines (disabling switchable graphics functions)

    cheers

Does anybody here knows what is the LATEST BIOS VERSION for M670SRU?

Successfully flashed my unit with the BIOS at page 145 of this thread, just to find out that I already have it installed.

Please someone supply information if v. 1.00.09 Phoenix for M670SRU is the last bios version.

    Many thanks!

its probably recommended to use the latest bios version. but anyways, why would u wanna switch to a 680M? perf-wise it doesnt make any sense since the two cards are on par.

This should be safe to use on a non-Sager P150EM, right?

The reason I'm asking is I have been reading (a lot!) about this and want to do a little BIOS modding. My unit has version 1.00.03 (and KBC/EC 1.00.03). Can I use version 1.00.04 as a base instead without touching the KBC/EC BIOS?

Actually, I haven't been able to figure out what role the KBC/EC BIOS plays in all this. Can anyone elaborate?

    Right,

It is possible to use BIOS 1.00.04 , but you might run the risk of being unable to boot. This is unlikely but still possible.

The BIOS is the BIOS, the EC/KBC controls the keyboard, fans and other stuff.

Success! Well, that was easier than I thought. I just wanted to get RAID 0 enabled - just flipped the switch in the "Save & Exit" section in AMIBCP and flashed the thing with AFUWIN.

I now have my crazy setup running beautifully - two Momentus XT 500 GB's in RAID 0 with 64 GB SRT cache on top :D

You should never flash in windows. Some Chinese brothers bricked their machines while going from one version to an other on an EM model.

    Hi,

The BIOS inside my P150EM is 1.00.04. Will I need to update the BIOS if I'm going to put a GTX 680M in it? My GTX 680M is arriving very soon.

    That's EC/KBC Firmware right?

    I'm on BIOS 1.00.04LS1 and EC/KBC 1.00.05SA.

Is it Ok to update and is there a changelog?

    Hi fellas.
I have a unique set-up. I originally had the P170HM with i7-2920XM and GTX-485M. I updated the BIOS and EC on that unit and was using Intel XTU version 2.1.408.41 without any issues.
I have today received my upgraded Clevo laptop - P170EM, still using i7-2920XM and the new HD 7970M.
I tried running Intel XTU and it doesn't open, giving an error message. I checked the BIOS to see what was installed and this thread to see what the latest releases are.
I have BIOS 1.00.04bNS1 and EC 1.00.05 which seems to be the latest BIOS for this unit.
Have I got the latest BIOS and EC installed? If so, why the hell isn't Intel XTU working any more?
    Thanks for your help fellas.

hi Prema, is there any chance u can release biosmod to let us Clevo users OC via bios like Alienware can do?

And of course the Enduro turn-off thing, but i guess u can t do such a thing. Being able to odify CPU/RAM parameters via bios just like Alienware can do would be a dream, thx in advance.

PS of course im talking about ClevoP170EM new models, Chipset IntelHM77.

it was prema. according to him u can switch back and forth between those two just fine if u only remove the command to reboot between EC and BIOS update in the respective .bat files.

thus: update EC, update BIOS, then restart.
