As suggest in the OP I emailed Sager for the latest NP9150 (P150EM) BIOS and EC and they sent me BIOS 1.00.05LS1:

    Zippyshare.com - 915bv05ls1.zip

Off to try the update now.

EDIT: Updated fine, nothing new to report. My BIOS is now 1.00.05LS1 and EC/KBC is 1.00.05SA.

    Excellent!

Your link only has the BIOS file, you sure it also has the EC?

Edit: I added the CLEVO BIOS 05 and EC 05 to the initial post for the P170EM.

The problem on the laptop W170ER, is that under load the fan is turned off, and then, after a short time, so on and jerks work.
Latest BIOS (1.00.06) does not fix the problem, apparently the case in KBC/EC, if I understand correctly?
Does anyone had a similar problem and solved it be updated KBC/EC?
    (Sorry for my english)

You have to use EC03 until they fix it. :)

Prema, Thanks, but each laptop also has its own version of the EC?
One can not use it on another model, and where to get the EC03 for W170ER?

Prema are you planning to mod latest BIOS (1.01.10) for P170HM, I'm waiting so long for it :)
If you don't have it I can share. And my last question is there any way to modify fan table in BIOS/EC ? Did you tried this kind of adjustments ? Maybe i Can help somehow ?

Maybe Blacky can help you.

I have the P170HM3 myself and the BIOS options are locked, so every change needs to be hardcoded and can not be flipped in BIOS itself, but I did a few updates to the modules ME etc.:

    STATUS UPDATE 27 MARCH: XTU BIOS, CLEVO P170HM3 & SAGER NP8170 3D (+Aptio Tools)

I got many TDP related requests and may release a TDP increased version with updated modules for P150HM/P170HM(3) in the near future.

Yes, each model has its own BIOS and EC.
For your model you can get the latest BIOS and EC (which are the same for the W170ER) , from the first post:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/416916-clevo-bios-thread.html

If you need the EC/BIOS 0.3 specifically, I can PM it to you.

    No (10 char).

It's not old, it's just Clevo's way of supporting older models...
Anyway, no, you can;t use the P170EM BIOS.

BlackyYes, thank you, but in this post, as I understand it, contains only the bios, no EC / KBC, and now I have a hard version of the BIOS - 1.00.06, and KBC / EC - 1.00.02
Do you offer to send me in PM (I have some reason the way private messages are not working, probably because I'm long enough in this forum) 03 version of what? EC or BIOS?
That is, you can modify the settings yourself fan?
    It looks interesting
But why 0.3? The figure is what is important or is it just?

Well, the file in the initial post should have both BIOS and EC, or better said, should update both.

If it doesn't, then I will look for your EC 03.

link does not work :( "Not Found"
    While W110ER for example, works
Yes, and I just updated the official site at .06, the update affected without affecting the KBC/EC
And by the way, if updated KBC / EC, it is stated in the description, but for W170ER indicated that only the updated BIOS
The idea is that if the EC is also touched upon, it would have been indicated in the description?

    Link is working now.
I am not sure. When I got the BIOS 1.06 for the W170ER, the one on the first page, it wrote that it also has the EC. Not sure how it works really, since this is new to me also.

The W170ER & W150ERQ haven't received any EC updates since the shipping version 02.

The EC03 that should be used in conjunction with BIOS 05 is for the P170EM only.

Hey guys, just looking for a little information here. I bought my Sager last year around April, and the BIOS version is 1.01.05LS2 and EC version 1.00.03. I cannot find any revision notes anywhere on what changes were made from hen to the latest BIOS, and am having difficulty finding out whether or not this would allow me to use XTU to change the TDP and turbo time limits of my 2720QM.

Xotic has given me the latest BIOS for my system, up to date as of April of this year. However, if there is no reason for me to update, then I'll just leave things as-is.

This is the latest Sager EC 09 & BIOS 10 for the NP8170:

    File-Upload.net - Sager_EC_AND_BIOS.zip

It has XTU support and the TDP settings are visible, they even report to have changed after a reboot, BUT it's all fake and they do nothing at all...Clevo...LOL

You got me pretty excited Prema until I read the last part of your post. So I take it using XTU to change TDP and turbo time limits on stock BIOS is a dream that will never come to fruition?

Oh well, it's only another 300MHz anyway. :D

Any other reason I might want to update my BIOS? Everything on my system runs fine, so I take that as probably being a no.

I will make some raised TDP Limits BIOS for everyone when i find more time...also I would just make the updates...no problems with EC09 & BIOS 10 and you get latest microcodes, fan tables, option roms...etc.

Out of curiosity, why is it necessary to update the EC prior to BIOS? I updated my BIOS through an ISO provided by Xotic that they said was up-to-date, which put my BIOS version to 1.01.10LS3, however my EC firmware version is still 1.00.03. I was thinking of updating with the files Prema provided to update the EC as well, would that cause problems as my BIOS version is already up-to-date? Or should I just not even bother?

Hit F7 during boot and select your USB stick and for that BIOS just type the word "update" and follow the on-screen instructions. ;)

"Update" isn't doing anything, bad command or file name. The files that were in the archive are P170HM10.LS3, AFUDOS.EXE, and ECP170HM.06.

I have an NP9150 with the shipped "American Megatronics" BIOS.

Following the guide on the first page, updating the EC led to the fans spinning up and the computer shutting off after some text flew past the screen. I rebooted and when trying to update the BIOS, was met with this error message:

    PDR Region does not exist.

Error 25: The host CPU does not have write access to the target flash area. To enable write access for this operation you must modify the descriptor settings to give host access to this region.

Obviously this is not working out correctly..... How do I verify that the EC updated properly? And if it did, will it still work with the original BIOS, seeing as I am unable for whatever reason to update to the Clevo one?

Lastly, it is suggested to use a Sager BIOS. Does anyone have the most recent Sager BIOS for the P150EM/NP9150? If so, can I still flash it with Clevo's EC or do I need something else too?

EDIT: The computer still boots up. If the EC update and BIOS updates are so intricately intwined, then I take it the EC did not update at all when the computer just shut off. The BIOS version I have now is 2.14.1219 from American Megatronics. Oh and I CAN confirm that the EC updated, as I no longer have the Fn+1 functionality.
