Hey, i've got a p150em and i'm trying to upgrade it to the latest p150em clevo rom (.10) but i keep getting this error
"ROM file ROMID is not compatible with existing BIOS ROMID"
I'm pretty sure that i've followed all the instructions especially since i was able to upgrade from the .04 version to the .05 version of the bios.

Dear Prema, if there are any new methods of resurrection BIOS for P150/170EM?
AMIBOOT.ROM + Ctrl+Home, of course), does not help/work/activated. Or in this case

    will save only programmer?

    Thank you.

<strike>Can you get some actual RPM numbers with HWinfo64? Maybe a few temperatures vs RPMs for each fan would demonstrate the problem clearly and allow people to compare.
    </strike>
Edit: I just saw you posted some values here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...e-pll-pin-mod-overclock-idea.html#post8847593

That is some strange behavior! Have the fan speeds been reduced at every temp levels for both CPU and GPU fans?

Yes it seems that is the case at every temp (hit 95C before I stopped the tests).

I can't check the CPU yet though (it is hot, 93C as we speak while just browsing the web). I am not sure if I want to cut the cable for the CPU fan to check what the RPM should be at full speed, but right now with FN +1 it's also just under 2.5K RPM.

I've tried so many bios + EC combos now I'm getting tired.

I did learn that HWinfo will report the RPM of the fans if you have a P170HM bios and EC, but with the np8150 bios and EC it doesn't show the RPM.

I also tried a system restore back to a time where the temps were fine.

I would like to add that every time I flashed the bios lately, I have removed the CMOS battery to make sure everything was reset.

I really can't think of anything else that I can try.

Now I'm considering going to a local electronics store to get some wire so I can permanently connect my fans to my USB.
This is fine for me because I don't care about the noise. The problem is that I will lose the USB port because I'll be taking 1 amp from a port that should only supply 900mA.

The new 10 BIOS may enable the recovery as they did for the W110ER:

You can try to use the guide:

    BIOS RECOVERY « Prema Mod

    Rename the BIOS:

    from P170EM.10 to P17EM_08.rom

    from P150EM.10 & P151EM.10 to P15EMx08.rom

Remember that older BIOS had the recovery disabled, so if you brick while trying to downgrade you will require a programmer (I did that: ;) )

CPU fan max out ~4000rpm. E.g. check this post:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/652388-high-fanspeed-noise-clevo-p170hm.html#post8777175

Did you download the latest version? What is the model number (i.e. is it not reported by HWinfo as P150HM)? There seems to be a few variations out there. Martin has to add each one of them to HWinfo for it to work properly... (or maybe the feature was removed in that BIOS/EC update?)

Thanks for that, it confirms I really do have a fan problem.

HWinfo reports my notebook as P150HMx, that is with the latest P150HM bios and EC from the clevo bios thread for older models.
And yes I have the latest version of HWinfo.

I'll try a few more different BIOS and EC combos today.

@Prema is it possible when I receive my laptops, that you could unlock and overvolt my vBIOS for me, it would be a HUGE help and I would be very grateful

I have a sager, but a sager IS a Clevo. The issue is not in games, but in windows. The fans work fine when I am in games, but sitting at the windows desktop I get into the upper 90's C after a few minutes.

This thread has nothing to do with VBIOS anymore as recent Clevo BIOS no longer contain a VBIOS like the older models do.

Also you should probably ask in MSI forum as it's a MSI barebone.

What do you need the BIOS for? Use or install the Synaptics driver:
    Drivers | Synaptics
Restart, go to your Mouse properties in the control panel -> Device Settings -> Disable and that's it, no more pesky trackpad until you enable it back on using that driver setting.

Same here. Thing is I'm not exactly willing to try /x until I know it won't result in a brick.

Both my bios and ec are 05.

    Hi,

I have added all the models referenced in the Clevo database in my mirror :
    Index of /clevo-mirror

So now, there is a LOT of models.
For most models, you will find the user manual, the service manual, and some BIOSes.

I hope it will be useful for some people here :)

Looks like there was a new 9150 EC/BIOS released? Has anyone tried it? Still looking for a better fan profile. Guess I will just email Sager and ask them for the new BIOS and what has changed.

GTX 660m don't work in Clevo P150HM. Does not display on the screen but windows startup sound is coming.

    Bios Version 1.01.14 and the KBC/EC 1.00.13

What is the latest bios version?

    Please help.

I don't know maybe flash a modded 660m gtx bios You have to ask someone who knows better, but if there's a solution it's not related to the clevo HM bios

huh, sounds like the 660m has an obligatory IGP handshake command built into its vBIOS just like the 7970M. too bad im not able to help here, wouldn´t know how to modify the stock vBIOS... :-/

Get used to it. From this point on, good chance all GPUs will. MS deemed that fixed switching is not as efficient as dynamic switching and won't allow fixed. So all new GPUs made for Windows 8 will have dynamic switchable.

unless alienwares keep their muxxed design, which enables them to run on dgpu/igpu only. then one could only hope that a dell card / dell vbios would function in a clevo (HM) machine / on a clevo card as well :p :D

Well, AMD/ATI and nVidia already decided this a while ago anyways, so MS or not this is the future. Honestly it IS the best way, when it works properly. When it works properly it is seamless and you don't even know it's happening, that's the best user experience.

Well I can't even get past the EC. For some reason I'm still getting the rom id not compatible error, even with /x. I'm typing ecflash.bat /x, with the latest P150EM BIOS&EC (currently with both .05). Nothing.

    Anything I'm missing here?

Most people won´t recommend this, but a easy work around is to first install Bios and then EC. Tested it myself, it works...

Is the fan speed control function works on 05 bios and EC of P151EM? If it works, what is the key? I'm using 7970m, tried fn+1 but not working.

Fn+1 only works with the Sager BIOSes (Clevo and Sager BIOSes are actually a bit different between each other. I don't recommend flashing a Sager BOIS in a Clevo, though).

Also P150HM is using chipset HM65, P150EM is using HM77.
