Sorry to continue this offtopic discussion, but why does HWinfo shows that my hard drive controller is Sata 3 Gbit/s and my optical drive 1.5 Gbit/s?
I have the same model (p150hm) of course.

depends on ur hard drives. if u have a SATA2 drive in the main bay then thats what its clocked at. as for the optical drive, that one is rated at SATA1, thus 1.5 Gbit/s. if u slap in a SATA2 compatible drive in there, it´ll adjust accordingly :) same goes for a SATA3 drive on ur main port.

well yeah, the info in the link just clarified what HWInfo reports (current SATA mode of the installed drive vs. SATA port capability)

my comment still holds true tho: the SATA3 main bay is downwards compatible with SATA2 and SATA1 drives, same goes for the SATA2 optical drive bay :) the port always runs at the highest speed that the installed drive is capable of, not the other way round :p

Ok, I might have misinterpreted then. I took it that the "currently runs" means the drive's theoritical capability, but I guess it means what its actual capability is. Right?
Still seems weird to me, but I'll take your word for it.
    Thanks for the clarification. :)

I did it with my P150EM, if that's close enough (had to update the bios first, and then the ec). No problems.

I sent MySN an email asking for changelog on the EC08 and BIOS 10. Got this reply.

    1. System BIOS 1.00.10 for P150EM only.
    2. Solve sometimes system stops on POST issue.
    3. If the BIOS version of machine is 1.00.03 or early, please update to 1.00.04 before executing next step.
    4. Refer to the instruction of readme.txt to update BIOS + ME firmware.
    5. To downgrade BIOS will cause system can't boot up if the BIOS of machine is version 1.00.07 or later.

    1. EC firmware for P150EM only.
    2. Support both old and new matrix keyboards.
    3. Follow the instruction of readme_EC.txt to update firmware.

I'm having some issues with my clevo w150ER. It's normal whem playing a game - the cooler be quiet - with temps above 80ºC??

Also, my mobo bios are with this version:

    Bios - 1.00.03
    EC - 1.00.02

I can upgrade direct to latest bios version?? It could solve that problem?? Does this version support full fan speed with Fn+1 or only i get this with prema mod?? :)

That's not a problem. Temps of 80-90c are well within spec and not a problem.

I though that was a problem because whem the game start or during playing some games, the cooling while working at full speed or almost - keeps temps betwen 70c. But sometimes just stop and become very hot in left side near the keybord.

Soo if this is normal, the only way to keep fan working at full speed is with fn+1??

I don't know what just happened but I flashed 09 (it says 09 now when I hit F2) but my OS drive is gone. My BIOS can't see my SSD and when I hook it up to another computer it doesn't read anymore. happened? The flash went smoothly, though?

UPDATE: The sudden shut down of the EC firmware update messed up my SSD's firmware. I called Crucial tech support and they told me that chances are the SSD isn't dead. All the data should be there but I have to follow these steps to let the firmware work itself out and everything should be back to normal.

UPDATE #2: After just the first cycle, the SSD was back in business. There was no need for the 190 minute, 3-cycle. I did it anyway though to make sure the firmware was 100% stable. WHEW! What a relief!

sorry to hear that. so next time you can delete the shutdown instruction in the .bat file and don't let it shutdown so sudden?
by the way, it seems using ssd is not as safe as using hdd at the moment.

I'd rather delay the shutdown rather than removing the line altogether. I'll look at the batch file in a second to see if this is possible. I've never had to deal with this so I never looked into it.

Yeah, SSDs are particularly sensitive with their firmware.

Hi guys! I have a brand new clevo P150EM from eurocom and i want reflash the bios to p170em bios to be able to use the XTU function. So i know that this is possible and i am not afraid about that, but the problem is that my bios is on version 10. So the question is, Can i flash a new bios without downgrade to early versions? If don't so i will have problem flashing a early bios in my laptop?

Any changes you noticed with your bios (fan speed, etx..) ?. I have EC/EK 1.00.05 but I am debating whether to update or not. Also , can you check if your max fan speed still work by pressing fn+1?. Mine works with 1.00.05 bios . Thanks

You might be ok if you use the latest P170EM flashes, but everyone who has done this has done it coming from an older P150 flash to an older P170 flash. Also the latest P170 EC doesnt control the fans on the P150 properly. There is a workaround to make them work but it's kinda lame.

    Hello,

I have a P150EM, and like most of the people struggling with GPU utilization and quite high temps (92C after).

I see here is a BIOS update

CLEVO BIOS and EC for P150EM.
    1.Modify VGA fan control.
    2.Update BIOS ROM file. Support GTX680M / 7970M

Could anyone tell me wheter its worth risking updating BIOS for latest one? What do these changes do?

    Thanks
