    Hello,

I have a Clevo P150EM with the Bios version 2.15.1227
    Bios Date 10/19/2012 v 4.6.5.3 (American Megatrends)

Since these Bios versions are very different from the 1st post on this thread I am asking if I can flash my laptop with the latest bios listed here.

I want to update to the latest Bios because I can't install the graphics driver on windows 8.

    \VEN_10DE&DEV_1251&SUBSYS_51051558&REV_A1\4&15491A0A&0&00

    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thank you

The BIOS is not the problem for your graphics drivers.

u should then try what meaker already suggested in the other thread and head to laptopvideo2go.com they provide drivers with modded infs, adding virtually any nvidia card to the driver´s compatibility list :) maybe that would help you out

btw, if u dont mind me asking.... why do u have a 560M in ur machine in the first place? i thought they would only come with 6xx series gpus....

Thanks. nice to know that P150EM BIOS 1.02.16 updates HD4000 vbios to 2143.

Edit: Looks like the VBIOS was written in May last year.

    Edit 2: using EC 1.02.11

What does the high res Clevo UEFI logo look like?

I quite like the high res Sager logo so I may stick until Sager release 1.02.16.

    Doesn't look high res.

I prefer AMI logo though, feels like the laptop has no brand.

Ah Ok I assume you aren't using Windows 8 UEFI boot then?

I do and I get a small high res Sager logo with the Windows progress circle underneath which stays on screen until Windows 8 has loaded.

Much quicker than with an old BIOS too.

Oh, is it triggered by installing Windows 8? Doesn't seem to have any options in the BIOS to activate that.

Windows 8 with StartIsBack and the start panel disabled is basically 7 with back end improvements.

Plus UEFI boot is so fast.

I use Classic Shell, but both do the same thing. I agree, it boots straight to desktop, they both allow you to customize your start button, mine is hello kitty :D But there is no doubt for me, Windows 8 is much better than Windows 7, especially if you have a 7970M. There is a lot of improvements under the hood, it's not just Windows 7 with a Metro Start.

Anyway, I really like MySn's boot loading logo. It's a great XMG notebook logo, but I'm currently running Sager's also.

I used to use Classic Shell and customised it for hours but I find StartIsBack is much better.

It looks like what the start menu would look like if MS had left it in (which MS did to a certain extent and StartIsBack uses a lot of what was left in).

The XMG logo is nice. I wonder what the Clevo one looks like.

That's what they have for Clevo. It's that Green XMG logo.

Take Classic Shell for a spin, lots of skins and you can find lots of customized skins as well.

You really don't read my posts do you.

Also why would Clevo stock BIOS files have the MySN XMG boot logo?

Has anyone tried the 1.02.16 BIOS in UEFI mode yet?

No, but I did try one few months ago that did have UEFI support. And as Prema said, it's just the StyleNote logo, not very attractive logo.

I wish MySn and Sager would post change logs to see how their BIOS versions differ from the standard Clevo. I think MySn is the stock Clevo but with the logo changed. Not sure.

    Hi!

I have the latest version of 1.00.xx and I'm using Win7.

It's recommended to update to the latest 1.02.xx version?

    What are the changes?

    Thanks.

You can update if you want, but it's not needed. It's really only updated for secure boot and Windows 8 UEFI support.

I wonder where he found the 1.02.16 BIOS.

It's stock Clevo. The only difference between others is that they have their own image instead of the Style Note image. At least that's my impression. For Sager they have the FN+1 added. But that's not needed.

Hey guys, I've been doing this for myself for a while now, but I thought I'd share you everyone else :p

Personally, I like the newer Clevo bioses for my Sager NP9150 (compared to the newer Sager ones), because I'd rather have the FN key on the left, like my keyboard shows. BUT, I don't like the boring StyleNote logo... So,

Here's the 1.02.16 Clevo BIOS with the Sager Boot Logo for the NP9150/P150EM...

LINK: P150EM.16 Just copy that file over the one in the package two posts above me!

Remember, if you are on a Sager BIOS/EC, I would practice precaution going to Clevo (but more importantly coming back)... I've done it 1000x back and fourth, but still... Make sure you know what you are doing/have done it before :p Always flash the EC first, without rebooting, etc etc etc...

    NOTE:
I am using the UEFI Boot, but before I flashed this I turned it off... Then after I flashed it, I noticed the stock BIOS look distorted... Just turn UEFI back on, and everything will look fine... If you are using the stock BIOS (not UEFI), just reboot once, and it should look okay! If not, then toggle UEFI on, reboot, then turn it back off... That'll definitely work...

Heh, if you have the newer, better Windows 8 logo keyboard, the Windows key is always on the left, doesn't matter what BIOS you have.

Sweet. Yeah no idea if it does it for all, but I have a feeling this is with the ME 8 firmware update, that's why you have to run meset.exe first. For my machine, I have a newer ME 8 firmware so nothing shows up for Intel vBios, or maybe something else going on, no idea.
