Has anyone emailed Sager support yet to see if they have the updated BIOS?
-
I'd wait a few weeks. MySn usually has it a few weeks before Sager does, since Sager ask for further modifications like Fn+1, and MySn haven't posted an updated BIOS yet either.
-
I'm not sure if this is actually related, but I installed bios .16 on my P150EM tonight and I just noticed that Windows 8 USB 3.0 speeds now match what they were in Windows 7. Anybody else notice something similar?
-
thats weird, shouldnt have much to do with the bios but with the installed drivers rather...

Well, there's this Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver — USB 3.0 devices are not working at USB 3.0 speed in Windows 8* FAQ at Intel's site that does imply the BIOS has something to do with it. Maybe Intel is just trying to assign blame, who knows.
-
interesting, thanks for the link

You can also install the latest USB 3.0 drivers using a modified INF, that also fixes USB speeds. So it is a conundrum.

Hello ! Is there any updated Bios/EC for M77xSUN???

thanks in advance -
does the current sager bios for the np9150 have the fn + 1 100% function?
Also, as I am on my stock bios from my reseller in Australia, is it okay to flash the sager bios right over this one?
Just looking for a bit of conformation
-
as long as u make sure not to let ur machine reboot between flashing the ec and bios u should be fine and be able to minimize the risk

Which bios should I flash my p150em with? The latest ones or the ones who say SAGER in bold?
Edit: I have 1.00.04 on both ec and bios. -

EC 1.02.11
BIOS 1.02.16
If you use a Brazilian keyboard you may require a country specific EC, which I woul suggest to request from Positivo Mobile
That's the last BIOS&EC...maybe needs a hotkey driver update? -
The link to the bootable-usb tool doesn't work. Anyone know where I can find it?
-
-
I flashed the EC, but when I try to flash the bios it just gives me "Error 25: The host CPU does not have write access to the target flash area." etc.
It still boots and everything, but not sure what I can do :/
Edit: At least I think the EC flashed correctly, it showed some text really fast and then shut the computer down.
Edit2: Checked setup, and the EC is at 2.11.
No idea how to make the bios flash though. -
DUDE, you have to follow the readme:
How to flash BIOS ROM:
1. Plug in AC adaptor.
2. Enter CMOS setup to disable "Intel Anti-Theft Technology" if the item is available.
3. Enter CMOS setup to check the EC firmware version, if the version is 1.00.xx then it is necessary to update EC firmware at first.
4. Run Meset.exe under pure DOS environment, system will restart automatically.
5. Run flashme.bat under pure DOS, system will shut down automatically.
6. Plug off AC adapter for 5 seconds then plug in AC adapter.
7. Power on system, the system will restart automatically.
8. Enter CMOS setup to check BIOS version and load system default, save changes and reboot.
9. If the original BIOS settings are different from system default, please enter CMOS setup to change BIOS settings before system loads Windows.
-
Yeah, I found it! And it worked!
I didn't see the readme before, and the guide in the op said nothing about it. But then I looked a bit and found it.
Thanks for the help!
Maybe the op should be updated?
Edit: saw that the table with different bios mentioned following the readme, now I just feel stupid.
At least I didn't brick anything. Pew

Not all BIOS updates contain ME firmware, so it's specific to each update.
Glad your system is UP-TO-DATE now.
-
So, do i have a magic machine (Sager 9170)? The 1.02.14 notes say:
" Because 1.02.xx version BIOS can't work with 1.00.xx version EC, so it is necessary to make sure the EC firmware of machine is 1.02.xx, if the EC firmware of machine is 1.00.xx then the system will not boot up after update 1.02.xx system BIOS."
But in checking my bios, i have this:
main BIOS :1.02.14bls1,
EC firmware is 1.00.11sa
So.. how is my computer booting?? -
It is EC 1.0 2.11...Sager just named it wrong when they edited the file.
-
Well, that makes sense...
-
I find it odd the 16 BIOS for P150EM has been out for a while and BTO has released it with their logo, but neither MySn or Sager have them. I wonder if they are waiting for a new EC? Maybe there is something wrong these BIOS? Not finished?
-
So you may have RAID issues with the v16...
-
Ridiculous, why would they do that?
-
Beacause they are not paying attention. Like on the W1x0ER they updated only one of two locations in BIOS that contain the GT650M vBIOS and "forgot" to update it in the second location, too. I corrected that in the Mod for those models, but yaeh its' kinnda funny.
-
For something as important as BIOS, that's not assuring. I'll stick to 14 for now then. I think Clevo really should consider doing this in-house rather than outsourcing.
-
Ah! I wonder if that is why I cannot get the Windows 8 installer to see the any disks with RAID in EFI mode. Anything I should be aware of before I attempt to downgrade to v14?
-
Nope it's just straightforward...
-
It was indeed. And I'm installing Windows 8 in EFI mode on RAID right now :-D I still needed to load the F6 driver, but it actually works now.
-
Why would you need raid? You only have one drive. If you have two, for raid, you're supposed to have two of the same size.
Have you any luck in modding a P150EM bios? Or still locked out? Would really like the fan table adjusted. CPU is cool enough for me to put my palm on the CPU and leave it for a long time and yet the damn fan is running constant. -
I have that same fan issue with my original 3610QM OEM CPU.
However when I install my 3740QM ES CPU the fan stays off most of the time on idle.
Must have different entries in the fan table, odd. -
Same here. -
For SRT caching to work, the chipset must be in RAID mode.
-
The new mySN P502 (P150EM) I've received yesterday has .16 BIOS.
But it is still not available to download from mySN site. -
weeell, u could always dump that bios and make it available

Hello folks!
I was searching the forums for quite some time, but did not find anything about my notebook.
I have a W270EU.
currently still the original bios from the reseller: 1.00.03, and EC 1.00.01.
I found on the mirror linked on the first page bios 1.00.05, but no newer EC version 1.00.xx. Does anyone have a newer EC file 1.00.xx?
Is it safe to go to 05 bios without changing EC?
Is it safe to go straight to the newest 1.02.xx EC and bios? without updating to the newest 1.00.xx versions first?
Thanks a lot!
GMS -
Links to .16 on Clevo.com.tw ftp just a bit above in this thread
-
You only have to flash the EC first, otherwise it will brick:
W2xxEU EC 1.02.06
W2xxEU BIOS 1.02.09 -
Ok, Thank you Prema!
-
Does it have the MySN or the StyleNote logo? There is good possibility that MySN has the BIOS modified to their specifications, like Sager does. The StyleNote has weird things like Raid downgraded.
I'm talking about your laptop, not the links above which are just the StyleNote. -
Well, it has XMG logo, but I thought only Sager actually does in-deep mods since only them were traditionally separated into "special breed" in these BIOS threads. I think logo could be tweaked without actually touching the core bios code.
-
The RAID thingy would only be a problem on a system that is already set up with RAID and then "up"-dated to v16...it would not effect systems that are shipped with it...so it would make sense to sell them with v16 but not offer the update on their site...just thinking here
-
Not sure if this interests anyone. But latest BIOS from Sager.

Sata bug is fixed in there...
-
They updated only the BIOS, no EC?
-
That says 1.02.14bLS1 - did they forget to update the bat file again?
