Hello everyone! I have an Eluktronics p650hp Pro-X that I have been covering on my channel. It wasn't till recently that I found out that Prema BIOS might be available soon. Would someone be able to direct my sails on this? I'd love some information. I have already checked the available BIOS page and there's nothing yet.
Ultimately I'd like to see something that would allow for 3000mhz RAM and anything else beyond the factory BIOS options.
This unit is the same as the Sager 8156 that's equipped with a 7700hq, GTX 1060, currently 2400 2 x 8 RAM but I have some G.Skill 3000 2 x 8 gb here (not currently compatible) and a 120 hz G-Sync panel.
Thanks for your help!

Have you tried this https://biosmods.wordpress.com/ ?

I sure have. It was the first thing I came across in search
Nothing there for the p650hp.

In that case you will need to ask him directly.

Palkeo doesnt have the newest version. Mysn only have their -a and -TR versions.
I will email my reseller.

My reseller(Notebookguru) didn't even answer.
Maybe he is speculating getting rid of the guarantee of my laptop cheaply if i flash the XMG bios.Last edited: Mar 31, 2017 -
I wouldn't go so far. Probably your reseller just doesn't care. Call them if you feel like their support is not what you expected.

guys plz help me: I have a XMG p707 2017 model with a GTX 1070 and 7820 HK CPU which is a Clevo P670.
at the moment i am running BIOS and EC both at 1.05.01.
there is a new EC Version to download 1.05.03
https://www.mysn.de/secure/userarea...7_1070_P707_1060_1070_2017_EC_1.05.03_XMG.zip
and also a new BIOS 1.05.02
https://www.mysn.de/secure/userarea...1070_P707_1060_1070_2017_BIOS_1.05.02_XMG.zip
the problem is that i dont know exactly which files to use for flashing.
in the EC.zip is a file ecflash.bat which i am sure is the right one.
but in the BIOS.zip are many files: FLASH.nsh, FLASHME.nsh, FlashMEWinX64.bat, FlashWinX64.bat
There is a Manual ( https://www.mysn.de/driver/_Sonstiges/Anleitungen/Anleitung BIOS Flash EFI.pdf) from Schenker that describes BIOS flashing with the EFI-Shell and there is mentioned, if you have a FLASHME.nsh you need to use first MesetX64.efi, after that the Computer restarts and then you have to use FLASHME.nsh ......... but MesetX64.efi is missing in the Bios-zip-Archive (there is only a MeSet.efi)
so i dont know which files to use...
plz help me - thx a lot!Last edited: Apr 13, 2017ImHere likes this. -
Hi guys, there is a new BIOS for my Clevo P670HS-G (gtx 1070 - 7820HK) but Obsidian makes you be a customer to get it... :/ Also, I messaged PREMA a long time ago and no response.
So can I please buy the new BIOS for my laptop from someone? Please... PM me.
Also, below is screenshot of my model and BIOS number

Sager NP7258 on 1.05.02R LS1
Do I have BIOS update options? -
Yes, you should be able to get hold of BIOS 1.05.06 and EC 1.05.03 - just ask Sager support, I'm sure they will help you out (they might have slightly different EC and BIOS available, the above numbers are the stock Clevo reference versions - please don't try to update or source BIOS / EC unless Sager advise you first) @Meaker@Sager might be able to direct you to support ;-)

Yep, just email support with your serial number and they can send you the latest version for your exact machine

Hello community
I read both threads regarding the thunderbolt firmware update, i have a clevo p771dmg, but the downloads are gone from clevo website and i don´t know what to choose, I have BIOS version 1.05.09, my thunderbolt appears like this https://www.dropbox.com/s/v53mcxr7nctf2b6/1.png?dl=0 and i cant know if can have the Akitio Node that i want to buy....
Another thing that i noticed, is that my BIOS says that my notebook is P755dmg, but i´m pretty sure it´s the P771dmg
I´m looking for somebody with a P771DM-G with the necessary files like BIOS, EC, Thunderbolt, for me to update, is there anyone please?
Thank you in advance -
hey so a while back i got a P775DM3-G from HID and of course me being my modding little self want to do a mod i had often done on my other gaming laptops, custom bios boot logos.
so since i had the premabios i went and made sure i wouldn't be crucified if i tinkered with the bios for this purpose; that squared away i tried getting my image on there while matching the filesize to remain in the constraints of the current bios image.
but i can not for the life of me get the damn image to load, all i get is the button prompts or the boot message (resuming from hibernation, etc) but the area where the logo should be is blank....
as far as i can tell the img format is jfif even though the uefi tree in the bios lists it as a bmp (which is ridiculous considering the file size of the image is 118kb and is somehow a native 3k resolution image)
i've tried repeatedly after getting a bit of starting help to get it to load the image either as a jpeg or jfif spec jpg image but nothing ever loads up on boot.
anyone have any ideas? -
Already made you a version with your own logo in March, this should be a non-issue...Last edited: May 14, 2017
-
you did and it never displayed, just a blank black screen with the button prompts; so i had been trying to get it going myself and i finally gave up on figuring it out myself but i didn't want to keep bugging you about it so figured i'd ask here
-
Just checked and I can see that I sent you a proper version with corrected image format on march 31st.
I can't see any reply that it didn't work...please double check and reply to that mail so that we don't take this thread ot... -
Prema is there going to be any of your Bios's on the newer models ie n850xxx

Hi Prema,
Does it mean that you work on Premamod for P650RS model ? I sent you PM about it
Latest available BIOS 1.05.07 it's not working properly but I guess you know it already, from other thread.
Thank you in advance for reply

Is there a bios/ec for the P870DM2-G with a working negative voltage offset as I'm getting sick of the overheat/throttle monster I've got. Throttlestop works for undervolting but crashes a lot for some reason (regardless of the undervolt level) setting it at bios level would solve the problem once and for all
Machine specs in sigLast edited: Jun 9, 2017 -
BIOS voltage control (up & down) is something I had to fix for the premamod...Clevo tried to lock it to 100mV-...
So on stock BIOS if you set anything in TS it will add to that minus 100mV, hence probably dropping too low to be stable.Last edited: Jun 10, 2017 -
When TS works its fine with -140mV, can 100% load the cpu all day with no issue.
When TS crashes it does 1 of 3 things :-
1. Crashes but leaves TS setting (as if still running)
2. Crashes but resets settings to stock levels (Resulting in near instant overheat/throttling)
3. Crashes locks the entire machine.Last edited: Jun 10, 2017 -
Hey everyone, I originally posted this in the P650RE thread, but it's probably more suited for here:
I have a query with regards to modding the P650RE's BIOS - I found this thread http://voltground.com/haven/threads/102/
which details a relatively simple way of opening up additional options in the BIOS - I've followed the steps (using a newer version of AFUWIN) to dump the BIOS, and (so I believe) have successfully enabled hidden options in the dump using AMIBCP.
Here's the kick - This seems way too easy, so I'm rather hesitant to actually write the new BIOS, especially since I can't find other references to people using this method on Clevos, despite the BIOS being the same skeleton (Aptio V). Are there any glaring issues with continuing down this path that I'm missing? The more reading I do the more confusing it gets with vague answers.
If it really is as simple as it sounds, would flashing with AFUWIN be fine or should FPT be used instead?
Thanks

Hello, help me please.
I tried to unlock v2 bios for P170EM ( P170EM_17_12_PM_v2) by AMIBCP. I made this:
then
and after flashing, I didn't find second paragraph "Main".
How to unlock Access Level? I really need to get access to memory frequency & timings, cpu cores ratio and tdp limits.
With MSI GT60 i only made this:
and I've got access to everythingLast edited: Jun 14, 2017 -
When is Clevo coming out with a bios update? I cant get PREMA Bios and its pointless he never responds to any form of communication so that said how long must we wait for clevo to push some kinda update, frankly im starting to lose faith in this brand though i am happy with the system i don't feel there committed to providing updates.
I have a p670HS-Gdbareis likes this. -
You aren't only one waiting for "salvation" from Prema. The bad thing is nobody knows why he made his blog private...
I'm waiting for BIOS for my P651RS (my partner shop still hasn't received it).ImHere likes this. -
I think he made his blog private because people were stealing his BIOS and selling it or something, not sure. I wish he would give me PREMA bios for I have a p670HS-G i own this model as well... he could make money off this, I don't see why he doesn't accept PM's and money offers... oh well thoughImHere likes this. -
@palkeo I am having trouble downloading anything from your clevo-mirror, if you are having bandwidth issues or anything I'm happy to set up an rsync and host an additional mirror on my 1Gbit KC, MO dedi. In particular I'm looking for the P870KM1-G service manual and latest bios hoping to see what I can accomplish, and whether it's a soldered chip or DIP removable BIOS chip. (I feel much safer being able to program it externally) - update: just bought an SP8-F programmer so soldered doesn't matter now, wew
Downloads from your server appear to stop at 1.5M.
edit: member last seen September 2016, yikes. The mirror is up to date as of May 2017 so maybe I'll keep some hope...Last edited: Jun 25, 2017 -
Please help me!
Clevo w650sj, how to blindflashback the bios..i need help im bricked =XXXXXX -

delete your last post work is a reverse of perma.. dont want link showing thx

They are not committed to providing updates, and even if they were, chances are great that they would be messed up. Believing Clevo (or any other notebook ODM for that matter) will release full-featured firmware that works correctly is about as realistic as believing in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny... ain't gonna happen. They all castrate everything they sell with locked-down cancer firmware.
That's correct. As usual, dishonest people have ruined everything for the honest people. Prema no longer provides publicly downloadable firmware mods and the only way a person can get Prema BIOS or vBIOS is through a partner shop that is able to control the distribution of it. The Partner Shop flashes it and the end user is not given direct access to the files to flash it themselves, or to share it with others.
Too many dishonest people stealing his work, reverse engineering it, and repackaging it as their own. Some have even had the balls to ask for money for what they have stolen from him, so go figure. So, anyone that wants a Clevo that functions correctly needs to buy one from a partner shop going forward. That's the only way to get it now because there is no way to control what crooked people do with what they download from his web site. This is why he made it a secure domain without public access.
The only forward-looking solution other than buying only from a Prema Partner Shop is for Clevo to hire Prema to do things right at the start, before any crippled garbage is allowed to leave the factory. Then every Clevo would have Prema BIOS and everyone would be happy about owning a machine that works correctly. And, the dishonest thieves would have nothing to offer because their stolen firmware mods would be obsolete and unnecessary.Last edited: Jul 2, 2017cj_miranda23, t456, steberg and 2 others like this. -
TY for explanation.
Now i know i'll never buy a clevo ever again. I always paid PREMA for vbios i asked to him in private. Now i can't even get a bios because of dishonest ppl. I understand prema fully why he does this.
Welcome back MSI. -
Yeah, it's very sad that dishonest people ruin things for the rest of us.
This is also why we have to put up with stupid things like DRM filth and software activation limits that deprive us of full use of the things we pay our hard earned money for.
I doubt we will ever run out of selfish crooks. Sadly, they're embedded in the woodwork and don't think twice about the harm they cause. They don't care about anyone but themselves. -
Now we have a complete information why he shutdown his blog but then we were simply blind (only rumors which unfortunately were correct) I think that Prema should improve little his communication...
You know shutdown blog and then in 30 min here on NBR post about this (like one he did later).
On blog he had information about Partners so we knew who has his support and there is nothing... From memory i remember only few ones. -
I think his communications are just fine. It's the expectation of full disclosure on someone else's terms and timeline that is actually the problem. He is an honorable gentleman that is careful about what he says and who it makes look bad. The wrongful things that have happened are very distressing and I suspect that making a public statement to keep inquiring minds in the know was the last thing on his mind at the time. I know that wouldn't be on my radar as a victim of robbery and betray.
-
Only problem in all this story is that when i bought my clevo, at the time, my reseller wasn't providing yet modded bios. I bought it thinking i could pay prema for it as i always did.
And now that my resellet provides it, i can't get my hands on it because they don't send let you flash it yourself.
I feel i got screwed so much as i bought a clevo only for this.
Once again i absolutely don't blame prema of course. But still mad.
The convenience of a modded bios was for me better than all the flows of clevos computer. Well like i said, never ever clevo again.Last edited: Jul 4, 2017ImHere likes this. -
Hi guys,
Since Prema's BIOSen aren't available to the public anymore, I thought I might "put it out there" that I know of at least 2 solid methods to dump the BIOS from your machine, modify it nearly the same as Prema does, and re-flash it.. in the process unlocking the flash descriptors so that you can flash easily with FPT.
To sum it up, dump BIOS with Intel Flash Programming tool (or start from "virgin" clevo bios/your manufacturers stock bios), load up in Intel Flash Image Tool, modify flash descriptors to enable write access to all sections of BIOS, feed this modified BIOS into AMIBCP 5.x, set your options as needed in "Optmized Defaults", save BIOS, run MEReset, reboot with flash descriptors unlocked, flash bios. (Including descriptor section), After that first flash descriptors are unlocked and you don't need to run MEReset again unless you are modifying the ME firmware... you can dump bios, modify with amibcp, flash bios, reboot and apply optimized defaults to change any setting desired.
This way lets you modify any of the hidden options, although you have to do it from your OS, rather than from the BIOS menu. Then you "Load Optimized Defaults", reboot and it's all set up.
Providing you have taken the proper steps to create a recovery usb or have an SPI programmer handy to backup/restore your BIOS in case anything goes wrong, I have been using this method for about a year now with no issues as a result.
I had started some months ago on a program to automate the process, and sent Prema a message about it, but from the sound of his reply the program would be stepping on some toes, so I stopped development. So far the only issue I've had is the inability to apply CPU Microcode updates, for some reason it doesn't boot up, maybe I applied Microcode incorrectly or missed a step (or maybe the version of Aptio tools I have is too old to properly inject CPU Microcode for Skylake/KabyLake, does anyone have a newer version?
)
Anyway, this method works great, there are all kinds of goodies there in EFI to tweak. I can certainly help more if anyone needs it, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes, maybe we should set up a private discussion group where we can share the infos without just "putting it all out there" so to speak.
And please, don't lump me in with others who may have reversed Prema's work to modify BIOS, I learned way back when EFI started being available on consumer platforms, having previously modified "old-school" AMI BIOS before EFI came along... Check the really old link in my signature for Modifying M18x BIOS, 6 years ago using a very dangerous direct hex edit of the BIOS image which worked great but.. :O
I used to modify bootloaders and firmware since way back in the Windows Mobile days, prior to Windows Phone (hah!), then later Android etc... I have released lots of work on XDA-Developers, I am a "good guy"
ImHere, Hackintoshihope and edryr like this. -
Sounds like a walk in the park...
-
I get what your saying and though you make sense about not expecting finished polished off bios updates from manufactures, however im upset about it and it kinda sounds to me you have surrendered your frustrations with the explanation that they are all like that. I am on here talking what horse **** it is and yes its a good laptop but its bs and ill never buy from someone who cant even make a simple update...and no i dont accept that answer they all do that.
as for Prema I think we all know the back story but also i think its bs he wont contact or reply to anyone except buds on here...im sorry i think he has taken being hurt just a tad bit to far though understandable i find it a bit overly sensitive and frankly offensive that you have to take up for him. -
Not everyone who is working on things like this is ripping off of Prema and to think that would be ignorant...good man keep up the good work and please actually share with the community! -
You where screwed, I bought from a seller who sold there own version of clevo but kept asking when in the world is Prema going to be done and have the bios out for the model i bought and they never could give a straight answer and told me Prema would only say soon....well the laptop had issues unrelated to my issue with the bios and i swaped it for something from Sager and now even though there is a bios from prema i cant get it...
