I know I already asked this quesion in another subforum but this here should be the correct one. Has anyone of you heard that CLEVO is going to release Bios Updates for the vulnerable Intel CPUs? Or at least distributing kind of updates to their resellers (XMG / Mysn, Obsidian, Xotic, Sager, etc.) so that they are going to distribute them. Thanks in advance!

How can one know if their BIOS is vanilla Clevo?
(I apologize in advance if this has been asked and answered before.)

I recently acquired a H870HJ and a P641HK. To my suprise the reseller added an ugly logo and the post screen was hidden. Moreover, the H870HJ was blocked from starting Windows 7 which I desperatly need until midst 2018. Although the Kaby Lake processors are said not to be supported by MS anymore, the P641HK is running fine with the OS and updates are supplied through a different channel.
The reseller is unwilling to change the BIOS.

The question is, would anyone, preferebly Premo, be able/willing to provide me with a way to
1- Disable the the logo screen.
2- Do away with the blocking of Windows 7 in the H870HJ.

As I'm yet not able to converse by PM, when applicable, please send me one containing your email address.

Not sure what Clevo plans to do, but @Prema already has already taken care of it. :) What you need is found in the first post in this thread.

In Post #4254 I asked some unanswered questions.
To be added: A slic in one of the computers apparently blocks activating from Microsoft and needs altering.
Everybody points at Premo and I would like to address him directly. I tried the links given, to no avail. As I stay as far away as possible from Facebook and Twitter it seems hard to reach him for a request. Originating a PM seems impossible for me by this time .
Has anyone a suggestion about how to solve this problem?

Hi guys I own the p870dmg tried to replace a logo by using uefitool within the ROM file then flashed it in dos session after that system has began hanging on bios splash screen after that used fn +b function the recovery section showed up then I reflashed from the recovery restarted the computer then everything on the screen was black no way that the computer won't boot tried removing CMOS and main battery thousands times no responds also no way to trigger bios recovery by using fn+b the system fully ****ed up the only thing to get rid of this if I left a piece of luck is taking out the chip and reprogram it but how to do this procedure I have original bios factory files how to program the chip by using TL866 a minipro and which files to program it any advice welcomes.

When I look at Clevo official page for all drivers for my Clevo P670HS-G i don't see a BIOS listed there at all, not even the original, only chipset, audio, etc type drivers.

Can someone help me look in the right place?

There isn't, it should work straight away. Did you check the eeprom's size matches that of the binary?

Clevo supplies some systems with two binaries, one an ec+bios and the other ec+bios+me. These can wind up on a single eeprom or on two separate ones. If you flashed the combined file, say 8MB/64Mbit, to a 48Mbit eeprom then it'd happily write the first 48Mbits and skip the remaining 16Mbits, yielding a non-viable solution if the binary meant the first 16Mbit to go onto the other eeprom.

Also make sure to double check all eight newly-soldered pins with a multimeter. Or simply add an extra dollop of solder if in doubt and a multimeter isn't available.

Then your eeprom has to be 64MBits. You can check this by looking at the part nr. on the chip. The service manual also lists this, but motherboard revisions can deviate from the manual, so it's better to verify the real thing.

I'm currently awaiting receival of an XMG Zenith 17 (I believe it's the P870TM1-G Clevo model).

I'm interested in setting up a system similar to this : https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-many-integrated-core/topic/719921 .
In this link, the user Quant geek has expressed the fact that he had requested a custom BIOS package directly from MSI in order to unlock a specific option which is by default excluded from consumer-level bios distributions.

As I'm running out of time and haven't received the laptop yet, I'm posting here.

Does the BIOS that comes with this laptop have the "Above 4GB Decoding" option enabled? If not, is there any reseller/customizer/overclocker capable of supplying a stable enough version so that I don't wind up bricking a considerably expensive laptop?

Guys i m planning to sell my laptop parts and build a desktop but before doing that i wanna ask unfortunately i m out of country and the country i m living for now has no good repair service on mobo eeprom programming the service previously i took my bricked laptop has taken out the wrong chip to reprogram it according to the mobo diagram scheme the chip was tbt chip (Winbond 25Q80DVSIG) located next to gtx980 single mxm3 master slot on p8700 -D03 mobo. When i power on the laptop there is no light coming up on power button now. The main bios chip named AH1515 25B64CSJG as a last try before give up (because i wont pay 450usd on a new mobo) i need someone that could flash the bios on a new chip with tbt and post them to me. if there is such thing possible please contact me for details before i chop this laptop up. meanwhile the vendor doesnt want to help me with that. i m not also able to send my laptop to the vendor due to custom problems in destination country. Thanks in advance for all suggestions and comments.

    Greetings ladies and gentlemen!

I have a Clevo N170SD, not that old of a model but for what i have seen you guys never adressed it here.

I would like to know if Prema has ever addressed this clevo model and if there is a mod BIOS for it. I recently flashed palkeo's stock BIOS and it helped me with the power limit throttling issues i was having.

I would like to be able to tweak ram and other stuff but i cant because of clevo's crappy and limited BIOS.

    Thank you guys.

    Greetings!

I am having current limit throttling while playing games in my clevo N170SD.
I noticed my CPU thermal design current (TDC) is set to 63A. I cant change it in BIOS. Is there any other way to increase it?
Or the only option is a modded BIOS like @Prema ?

    Thanks,

    I did.
I dont have Processor current limit option in XTU
In ThrottleStop the PP0 Current limit is set to 63A. (the 63A showed in HWinfo32 for CPU thermal design current (TDC), i guess).
So the limit is locked I guess.

Is there any way to solve this?

    (BEFORE)
Hi guys Im having Power limit throttle issues and maybe you guys can help. It happens when TDP package passes the limits that are locked. I want to unlock them but my BIOS is super simple and a can tweak almost nothing. Using HWinfo32 shows:

CPU Thermal Design Power (TDP): 47.0 W
CPU Thermal Design Current (TDC): 85.0 A
CPU Power Limits (Max): Power = Unlimited, Time = Unlimited
    CPU Power Limit 1 - Long Duration: Power = 47.00 W, Time = 28.00 sec [Locked]
    CPU Power Limit 2 - Short Duration: Power = 58.75 W, Time = 2.44 ms [Locked]

So i can set the power limits to an unlimited value, but it seems the manufacturer locked the limits.
    How can i unlock them??!!!

    Thanks,

    I have a clevo n170sd:

    WTF!!!
I updated my BIOS from 1.03.0x to 1.05.01 and now I no longer have Power limit throttling.
Now i have current limit throttling. Is it because they increased PL1 and PL2, but decreased TDC?! (I have no idea)
Can you guys help me? What can i do?!

PS: I havent formatted and made a clean install of the OS since flashing BIOS. Can it help?! (dont think so)

    Hi guys!

Using AMIBCP I managed to unlock BIOS almost entirely! But, i dont think there is a option to enable or toggle CPU CURRENT LIMIT!

Is it coded in the EC or something like that?! Did i miss it in my BIOS options?! I could really use some expert advise!

    Thanks

    Hi there Prema :)

Is there any chance you could let me have a copy of your wonderful bios so I can gain NVME bios support for the Clevo P770ZM?

As some others have stated Clevo / resellers have been promising this for quite some time but nada from them for me so far...

ps. Mine is a PC Specialist edition so I was wondering if there were any extra considerations here for switching bios / returning to stock for RMA etc etc

    Hi guys!

Using AMIBCP I managed to unlock BIOS almost entirely! But, i dont think there is a option to enable or toggle CPU CURRENT LIMIT!

Is it coded in the EC or something like that?! Did i miss it in my BIOS options?! I could really use some expert advise!

    Thanks[/QUOTE]

I tried to go your route to unlocking the bios it cant do to a secure bios it states it cant create a secure flash something anyways i gave up after 2 days of trying and reading and trying lol. Im hoping and praying that @Prema could help me out with his godly bios. If not im sol. I also tried everything to get win 7 installed. I hate win10

You guys are quoting completely wrong.
CPU current limit is ICCMax. It may be called ICCMax, CPU Current Limit (Amps), and if it's a skylake or kaby lake AMI Bios, it may be found in Core I/A Domain, probably in a CPU power and performance menu, CPU VR settings.

Hello been awhile since I been on here. I just got a couple Clevos again. A P650RE-3 and a W230SD my P650RE-3 has the Prema BIOs but the W230SD does not and the W230SD has extremely high CPU and GPU temps so I was looking for a BIOs update to maybe help with this but can't find any. I would like the Prema like I have on my P650RE-3.
