Hello guys i'm new here. Just bought a second hand P775DM3-G and I was looking at the bios version: 1.05.01 and EC is 1.05.02 (so both are quite outdated). I find out that the latest version is the 1.06.11 on repo.palkeo. but i have a problem: when I'm in the DOS to flash FLASHM~1 and FLASHM~2 i just can't flash them...

    Which BIOS do you have?

Latest oficial is: 1.05.01 with this changelog:

    1. System BIOS 1.05.01.
    2. Support Windows 10.
    3. Please update EC firmware to 1.05.01 or later.
    4. Please refer to readme.txt to update BIOS.

    You can grab it here:

    https://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/W230SD/

Does the BIOS for P650HS-G have options for CSM or Legacy Boot Mode?

I know PremaBIOS would, but not available for this model yet.

If i were you i'd ask v3gaming if they can get you the latest BIOS first. Mixing Sager's BIOS with Clevo can give you a hardbrick.... Don't mess around with BIOS

All his bios are private so far (apart from partners). Your only hope is to wait like everyone else unfortunately

Hi fellas. I was looking at a laptop from HIDevolution, but since it's not in Europe the import tax will probably kill me. I found a german seller that can provide a similar machine, but it does not seem to have a special bios. Are there any way to find out beforehand if possible to flash a custom bios like Prema on it? The seller is mysn.de and the model is XMG Zenith 17.

The problem isn't if it is possible to flash. The problem is getting a copy of the BIOS from Prema. It's pretty much been said in several places that if you don't buy from a Prema Partner it's unlikely that you will be able to get a copy. Since Prema isn't currently accepting any requests the chances are even slimmer. Doesn't sound like Prema is being mean/rude, just swamped with work and possibly feeling a little underappreciated.

Your best bet for getting a Prema BIOS is to buy from a Prema Partner. They can be found here: Official Prema Mod Partner Team

Perhaps the Clevo P870TM1-G from ClevoCenter, it looks like the same model. While I'm not familiar with euros, price looks about the same too.

DreamMachines does not offer the model I want and ClevoCenter does not have swedish keyboard, so none of those will do.

Are there any other decent options except for Prema then? Or do I even need custom bios? I'm not gonna do any special customizing. Undervolt the CPU mostly I guess.

It might cost a bit more, but what if you ordered the computer from ClevoCenter, and the Swedish keyboard from DreamMachines?

Even thou that's not a bad idea and does give me the Prema bios, I can't seem to find any option to only buy a Swedish keyboard.

ClevoCenter answered me that they can provide a Swedish keyboard. Yay!

I'm just waiting for some more answers from them, then it looks like I'm good to go with my order. :)

EDIT: It's seems ClevoCenter can arrange for all my preferences to be fulfilled. Awesome.

EDIT2: And it's ordered! Can hardly wait!

    Hi all.
I have a Clevo W370ET that was on bios version 1.00.08 and EC 1.00.05.
On page 378, there is a link to a mirror of clevo bios: https://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/W3xxET/
I went there and downloaded the 1.02.22 version and applied it, as per the instructions. However I have noticed that the EC version is still 1.00.05. I was expecting that the update would do the EC as well, as it wasn't mentioned that the EC had to be updated beforehand. (i.e. the process would update the EC then the bios.)
My machine no longer shuts down. (Win10Pro). If it select hibernate, or shutdown, it seems to shutdown, but the system stays running, and I have to force the machine to shutdown, which then messes up windows (all my icons reset position).

Is it possible to update the EC now? Hoping this would fix the shutdown issue.

    Better read the instructions first:
In other words; your current bios v1.02.22 is incompatible with your current ec version. The proper sequence would've been this:
    1. W3xET0805.zip - System BIOS 1.00.08 and EC firmware 1.00.05
    2. W3xETE0213.zip - EC firmware 1.02.13
    3. W3xET_B0222.zip - System BIOS 1.02.22
There's always some risk with downflashing, but think that would be preferable to flashing in the wrong order. I'd do a cmos reset first, flash back to bios v1.00.08 and then flash the ec and bios in the order as above, adding a cmos reset after every step.

Sorry, I won't be original with this - but is there a way to acquire Prema mods? Since @Prema stated that he closed his PM intentionally, I don't know any other way.
And I'm really struggling with "current power limit" on my p650sg lap (and p650sa/p650se also) :(

Cheers. I read the instructions for the 1.02.22 file, thinking the latest does all the updates required. I've never updated the bios on a laptop, just desktops. Thought they would be the same.
Anyways. It's all sorted now (apart from the change of the startup logo), and the machine is now shutting down correctly. Thanks for your help.

    Cheers,

I have played a bit with undervolting in ThrottleStop and found values that seem ok. I found that -100mV on the CPU/Cache and -50mV on the iGPU is very solid. How do I apply this in the Prema bios correctly?

Don't mess around with the BIOS. Leave throttlestop running!

The program does exactly the same you would do in the BIOS plus its safer!

    Play it safe :)

    Hello,

this is my first post to this forum, maybe it's the wrong thread. But here are certainly the experts.

I purchased a P775TM1-G (UHD Display, i7-8700K, GTX1060, Win 10 Enterprise) from NEXOC. Everything is running fine. I had the idea to watch UHD Blue Ray Disks (PowerDVD 17) with this notebook. Now I have learned that things are not so easy. PowerDVD 17 only supports UHD playback on an internal Intel graphics card (which cannot be activated on a P775TM1-G), but rumors say that PowerDVD 18 will support NVIDIA Pascal cards.

That leaves a second problem. The computer must support Intel SGX. Unfortunately I did not find an entry for SGX in the BIOS.

    BIOS: 1.05.04
    EC: 1.05.03
    ME FW: 11.8.50.3399

CLEVO told me SGX is not supported yet. That's why I dumped my BIOS ("afuwinx64 STOCK.ROM /O") and analyzed it with AMIBCP. Under "Setup-Advanced-Advanced Chipset Control" is an entry for SGX saying "disabled". In all BIOS I found for a P775TM1-G SGX is disabled.

It is easy to set the entry to "enabled" and save it as STOCKSGX.ROM. The size of the file remains the same.
Can I safely flash this BIOS? What are the right parameters for flashing? Do I need an other ME Fw? Will this enable SGX in Windows 10 and make PowerDVD happy? Has anyone ever tried that before? Questions over questions.

    Any sugestions appreciated.

Hi, my model is set as "P870DM2_DM3 (U3E1)", which BIOS should I flash?
Whats the deal with "-G"? Is it for G-SYNC? (My laptop has G-SYNC)

I can't answer the first question, but for the second, Yes, -G stands for G-SYNC related components of a laptop.

If you have the BIOS and will be flashing it yourself, then no, it is most likely not a Prema based BIOS. Prema's BIOS are only available thru a Prema Partner - https://premamod.com/partner/.

Before flashing anything, check with the reseller of your system. If they are a Prema partner, they'll remotely flash it for you. If they are not a Prema Partner, clear it with them before flashing anything in case you end up losing G-SYNC or in the case of a wrong BIOS, completely bricking your system.

Please proceed with caution, and good luck!

Just got a reply from my reseller.
Clevo reseller "Avell" (from Brazil) does not work with Prema BIOS anymore.
Instead they sent this link: https://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/P870DM23G/
Later I will check my BIOS versions against the information on this page.

The model name is "P870DM2_DM3 (U3E1)",not very helpful, I know.
According to version numbers my BIOS is up-to-date.
But what I actually want is to unlock it.
Guess I will just stay with the stock BIOS.

Palkeo's mirror refers to files for the Clevo P751TM(1)(-G) however, none of these files are available.
Does anyone else know where to get these?

ps. I realise that i'm not a frequent visitor to this forum, but i might be able to help out hosting a secondary mirror for the bios files.
I have a few GB's to spare on my server (nas) and a 500mbit connection which should provide enough bandwidth for most of us.

To perform a Bios / EC firmware update on the P7xx-TM(x)(-G) (and similar laptops) perform the following steps:
    1. Acquire a USB drive and format this drive to FAT or FAT32. Keep in mind that the files on the drive will be removed, so back these up first! A larger USB drive (64GB and larger might not work because these cannot be formatted to either FAT or FAT32 due to their size constraints).
    2. Download the Shell_Full.efi file from github https://github.com/tianocore/edk2/blob/master/EdkShellBinPkg/FullShell/X64/Shell_Full.efi .
    3. Rename the Shell_Full.efi file to shellx64.efi and place this in the root of the formatted USB drive (e.g. D:/ ).
    4. Create two folders in the root of the USB drive, BIOS and EC.
    5. Download the BIOS .zip file and extract it's contents into the BIOS folder you've just created.
    6. Download the EC .zip file and extract it's contents into the EC folder you've just created.
The BIOS and EC files can be acquired by the link provided by FTW_260 ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/members/ftw_260.688178/).
Your USB drive is now ready to be used for the following steps.
    1. Boot the system into the BIOS by repeatedly pressing F2 at boot. Alternatively it's possible to go to the bios in Windows (10) by performing the following command in command prompt with elevated privileges: "shutdown.exe /r /o" (without the quotes). This might be required for systems that use fastboot and have a high chance of not picking up the 'F2' key-press.
    2. Go to the last tab (where you can choose to exit and save the bios etc...) in the bios and choose 'Launch EFI Shell'.
    3. In the case the USB drive is not detected, you will be returned to the bios once again, then repeat step 2 (turning off the device completely sometimes helps the detection of a USB drive). If this continuously fails then repeat the steps of creating the bootable USB stick, something might have gone wrong.
    4. The system has booted into the EFI shell! good news, we can now continue to flashing the BIOS and EC firmware!
    5. Make sure the laptop is plugged into the mains, because a power outage or unexpected shutdown might cause the system to brick!
    6. Perform the command; (without the quotes) "fs#:" where # can be any single digit number. Start with "fs1:", then once the filesystem has been selected perform the command: "ls" or "dir" (I cannot remember wether it was unix or dos based). This should show the two directories you've created on the usb stick including the shellx64.efi file. If it does not; use ctrl+c or the command: "exit" to try another filesystem (e.g. "fs2:" etc..).
    7. Great, now you've selected the correct file system and you're able to see the two directories you've created! now lets continue flashing the BIOS/EC.
    8. Browse to the folder of the EC firmware first by performing the command: "cd EC". perform another "ls" or "dir" afterwards to check if all the files are there.
    9. Perform the command: "EcFlash.NSH", the system will now start flashing the EC firmware (sometimes this will require you to confirm the flash by pressing 'enter' or 'y').
    10. After the flash has been performed the system will be required to reboot, it should do this automatically.
    11. Once the system reboots perform steps 1 through 7 once again.
    12. When in the EFI shell again, instead of changing directory to EC, change to the BIOS's directory: "cd BIOS".
    13. Here you should perform the command: "flash.nsh".
    14. This flash might take a couple of minutes, once it is finished it might require user input to acknowledge the system has been flashed or require a shutdown override by holding the power button for 10 seconds. However do -not- perform the latter unless you are certain the flashing of the bios has been ended! It should however shutdown once finished.
    15. Now you're system has been flashed with the new EC and BIOS firmware, the next boot might require a minute or two to boot. So don't pull out your hair and think the system has failed immediately.
    16. Enjoy your up to date pc!

I have found these steps a lot more 'stable' than the older flashing methods used by Clevo. These are quite straight forward and don't require you to download third party software to perform the flash like unetbootin or rufus (even though I really like those). These steps were also the ones recommended by my reseller (albeit in a different language.. haha!), though sadly not one that has the privilege of the premamod BIOS's.

small disclaimer: I am not responsible for someone 'bricking' their device, I'm just trying to help out.

@matyee, i was already at step 8 once you replied, so I thought I'd just finish the instruction. Maybe OP ( @Blacky) can link this post to inform new users. Or maybe provide me an oppertunity to obtain the premamod BIOS :D.

@un1tyNL, hmm, it doesnt want boot from formatted usb stick with shellx64.efi on it. Just boot into windows. Can you share a screenshot with files in root forlder on proper USB stick?

It does not 'boot' in the traditional sense of booting. You have to select the option launch EFI shell. You might have to enable full initialisation of USB devices in the second tab. Otherwise some USB devices are not available in bios. Switching to a different USB port sometimes helps too

    Hi all,

Wanting to update to the lastest and greatest for my trusty P650SG. Would like to have Prema's but seems a challenge to find. I have P6xxSG_37_39_PM_v2 for BIOS and vBIOS. I haven't flashed from Sager's 1.03.03 but now past warranty and trying to get more life from my laptop. Tried to contact Prema direct but seems a bit beyond my abilities or my understanding as premamod.com gets me no where. Prema.. if you see this.. willing to donate. Trying to get to 1.05.01 for bios and vbios with your mods. Please get with me if you can.

    Thanks
