Does anyone know if this would give me access to enabling Intel HD graphics? As stupid as this may sound, having the Intel HD graphics enabled makes a huge difference in video rendering and encoding.

    Hi all,
    I have a Clevo P650RE6 with i7 6700hq and GTX 970M
I have updated the BIOS of my PC via the following mirror: https://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/P6xxRx/
However, in the BIOS there is no way to activate the vt-x that my processor supports
I need it for the university, do you know how to help me?

I have a Eurocom Q5 (P957HR). I asked their customer support about an updated BIOS, but they said a new BIOS hadn't been released yet. What should I do? Wait for Eurocom to release the new BIOS, or use the stock BIOS from the mirror here?
    My current BIOS: 1.05.06
Stock Clevo BIOS from here: 1.05.09 - released 12th March 2018.

P.S. Where is the changelog for the new BIOS? Does this have the microcode patch to fix the Spectre vulnerability?

If you've purchased a laptop through Sager, they're handing out BIOS updates if you ask.
Usually takes them a couple days to respond, but I've had good luck getting BIOS' from them.

GO to BIOS and navigate to Advanced section and you will see Vt-x or CPU virtualisation tech or vanderpool tech.

Unfortunately, there is no option to enable the VT-X function. In addition I found that unfortunately the update I installed has the VT-x disabled so nothing to do. To know it I would never have updated ... I'm trying to solve with the manufacturer of my pc.

'Bummer. This is where this thread scares off a lot of people. IMHO every BIOS should be accompanied by at least a changelog or feature list. Otherwise it is just a random collection of BIOSes.

This is a generic error. It does not necessarily mean that VT-x is not enabled on your BIOS. If you have Windows 10, open Task Manager. Go to Performance -> CPU. If Virtualization says Enabled then VT-x is enabled. And the Virtualbox error means some other piece of software is hogging the virtualization. This commonly is Hyper-V. Hyper-V can be disabled in Windows add/remove features panel. Microsoft also recently (in the last feature update) released Memory integrity ( HVCI) checking to non-Enterprise editions. This shouldn't automatically be turned on unless you did a fresh install of Windows with the new feature update. But is basically the Hyper-V hypervisor in a slim mode.

    By default, its disabled.
The performance is worst after HVCI is enabled after the Spectre BIOS patch on older high end BGA chips like 6700HQ .

Ive got the P150sm and ive flashed my bios to the latest one which was listed on this forum (dated 2014)
    .

This machine is still a beast to me but i was wondering if there is an update to the bios since the last release 4 years ago.

also is the Control centre a must have to be installed?

i also noticed this annoying Insyde HID airplane mode driver which was mysterious as I performed a full clean reformat along with the bios update and the other drivers were just realtek for sound and intel for wifi and the gpu along with the latest for nvidia.

i've checked the clevo site and the other stuff such as the sound blaster seem like crapware to me at least.

synaptics were auto downloaded by windows and im aware of some issues with that but so far so good...

just not quite sure how that Insyde HID dririvercame about and I actually uninstalled it but it came back like how some crapware fromwindows 10 comes back anyway despite your best efforts.

oh yeah i've got xtu to undervolt the i1-4700mq by -0.1mv

apart from that i noticed the fans are actually louder post the bios update despite temps not over 70 degrees and i'vealso redone the full thermal with artic mx 4 for both cpu and gpu.

thanks for reading but really just 2 questions

1- is there a further bios uopdateout there somewhere? and
2)what is the bloody insyde HID driver doing?

    so -:

I know this is an an old post to bring up but in all the pages here this is the only mention of metabox and Prema... I've got a P950HR (shame there's no specific thread but the P950HP thread has been good) which I absolutely couldn't recommend more and have been reading a fair bit about the Prema BIOS; I want it! Does anyone know if Metabox and @Prema are currently developing?

Ah, specs wise that looks pretty close to mine, is the chassis different?

BIOS is 1.05.05TMB and EC is 1.05.06, not sure if they're ancient or what, I got this about 3 or 4 months ago when they started trying to move them to get the new stock of CPU's into em so hopefully they don't drop support straight away, Aus is usually a bit behind with this stuff

I'm running 1.05.01 BIOS/EC on a P650SG, having keyboard buffer issues with the "gaming keys." (Key repeat after release of key). A reflash of the EC fixed everything but the W key. Anyone with experience with this issue?

    Edit:
Anyone with SVOD or SPI programming experience or is that beyond the scope of this forum?

    Hello guys,

    I have a question.

On the Eurocom Q6, I have this setting in the BIOS labelled "Energy Performance Gain" under the Advanced processor settings sub-menu.

    What does it mean?

For your reference, see the image below.

"If it's not broken, don't fix it." My guess is that it might be a "turbo" mode for your EC which could possibly make it more responsive.

Their firmware exposes all kinds of untested and non-working stuff, which is not even supported by the board. Some switches can even brick the system for good, so be a little careful.
It's 5 Minute unlock it all and hope for the best approach...easy money.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this (as it may be BIOS related), but:

When I use USB type C adapters with HDMI output capabilities, I get no display signals through the HDMI port.

Here's the adapter in question: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075R28DVM

    All other ports work.

This is on the Eurocom Q6. In the BIOS, I saw no options for DDI control, which in the past, have solved display detection behind Thunderbolt (and Type C) ports.

I think the device/hub works in passive mode instead of active mode.
I might be wrong here, so I'm not entirely sure.

I cannot test if USB C to DP works flawlessly at the moment. I have no adapter to test this with.

Should I get a USB type C to DP hub, I'll definitely test.

I'm glad I found this thread. Ton of good info in here. I've got a p650rs-g (p65_67RSRP) with BIOS version "American megatrends inc 1.05.07RNS1, 1/7/2017" I've been having issues with this laptop since I bought it in jan of 17. Bios update is my next test. Anyone know of an update? I went back a few pages and didn't see anything posted. If someone knows the page number I could find that I'd be content with that as well. Thanks in advance!

support.4@xoticpc I saw your post and I would ask you guys but I don't want to impose as I purchased this from HIDevolution. My relationship with them went really sour so now I'm hitting the forums

Eurocom support got back to me and stated that on the Q6, no display port lanes are present on their USB type C implementation. So that's a no as support for HDMI goes on this hub.

There's something I can't quite wrap around my head.

    Take a look at this:

That's the south bridge on the Q6.

See that audio controller labelled "Intel HDMI Audio"?

Note that this, despite being an Optimus notebook, has its' external displays (one HDMI connector + dual miniDP ports) driven by the NVIDIA GPU and the inbuilt display driven by the Intel GPU:

Now here's what baffles me the most:

(a). To what device is the Intel HDMI audio device connected to then? Eurocom confirmed that this machine carries no display lanes over USB type C, because if that were the case, I'd expect the Intel GPU to drive the display over USB type C. This was the case in the older MSI GS43VR 6RE.

(b). Could this also be the name of the PCH Audio codec? The same that drives the embedded Realtek ALC1220?

(c). Could it be an entry point for an LSPCon converter?

Why it's exposed in the device chain yet no display lanes exist over USB type C on this SKU is what I can't explain.

    This is confusing.

Sorry to see that. Seems odd they want to replace the mobo if the card is the bad component.

In any case, perhaps someone can post another option for purchasing a GTX 1070

FYI to anyone else using Metabox on the P950HR Metabox just got back to me and said no Prema BIOS or other BIOS available, nor updates from the current version. Looks like i bought at EOL and will have to start flashing Clevo onto this PC instead.. Shame because for some more functionality i'd happily pay out of pocket for a new BIOS. Oh well, next time i'll look at XoticPC who are clevo importers in Aus.
(BIOS is 1.05.05TMB and EC is 1.05.06)
    Reply below:
"and it does appears that the Prema BIOS mods that you've referenced are only available on our Prime-X range - I believe these models specifically is where we've chosen to partner on."

"In regards to your current BIOS, there's unfortunately no further major updates that I can see. There are some minor releases, but nothing in the way of added functionality or additional options within the BIOS menu."

So i guess the latest Clevo BIOS doesn't add many more options, shame because my metabox probably has the fewest available tweaks or settings of any PC i've owned, desktop or notebook.

If you have the AMI tools, you can copy your current BIOS rom onto the hard disk, then edit it yourself to enable more options. I'm not sure if there are CRC/hash/filesize etc checks that you'll have to be careful of, but this link may get you started: https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thr...-MSI-BIOS-to-unlock-full-features-UEFI-Aptio4

A lot of requests for Prema's BIOS' have gone unanswered lately, but good luck.

Was the @Prema Bios released for the P770DM? My Eurocom Bios has issues with hibernation - I press hibernate and when booting back up there's a 60% chance of nothing being restored on booting back up, and the machine would always wake from sleep randomly. Eurocom has tried to help me fix the issue but the only thing that helped somewhat was flashing an updated BIOS from them - now the sleep issues are gone but there's a 10% chance of hibernation failure - a BSOD shows saying a system file was corrupted and session could not be restored - much less frequent than before but the issues manifests itself differently. So it means there is an issue with their BIOS versions. Seeing as they were a Prema partner a couple years back I'm wondering if the Prema Bios was available for this model. Thanks.

hey there, I'm going to flash the ec and bios on my clevo n850hk1, and I just wanna make sure I'm doing everything right.
these are the files my reseller sent me:
I already put these on a bootable dos usb drive in separate folders.

I take it I first flash the ec with ecflash.bat?
What confuses me is how I should flash the bios, because my reseller told me I should first do meset.efi followed by flashme.efi (I think that might be a typo and they meant flashme.nsh? correct me if I'm wrong). The OP of this thread only mentions 1 file when flashing the bios, so I'm a little confused.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have an Obsidian P670 laptop. I was a little surprised to find only a few options to change. Does Clevo use a stripped down version of the AMI BIOS or is there some hidden advanced mode?
I'm trying to modify the USB power settings when in sleep mode.
