    Hehe :)

I've checked with Aida64 and is the same EC dump , P150HM instead of P170EM (which is my model definitely ..motherboard serial number corresponds..software reports..pictures) .
I see both use even the same KBC IT8518E.. maybe 4 the EC firmware the developers been lazy to edit everything :)) Even if in a raw edit in Notepad of the EC firmw. is written several times the correct model and never the wrong one ... that's my suspicion maybe is a backup of EC somewhere and is using that (wrong thing) instead of what I upload in flash ... //I'm not an expert .. I just started digging 2 weeks ago , I'm wasted :)))

This is how I've patched the problem :D :

    http://imgur.com/JN29UUs

....so.. the problem is .. the CPU fan have always just one speed ... the GPU one responds ok (even if just after 70gr.C with soolw increments but still slow speed) . And if the speed is over.. 2351RPM then the laptop shuts down , no beep as when the fan is missing , just power off to fan , 2 sec after , power off to system as unplugged from the wall :))

Is working perfect with a lower RPM fan , as the GPU one ... but is complicated to keep it there , no space , duct tape to hold it... bad position for laptop since the bump .. lifted on bigger legs or on the side ( neck problems :))) )

..or with a custom made fan tunning .. I've cut some of it's magnet =))
Even with a veery thin ring of magnet is still able to reach a high RPM at some point ... So I had to put 2 thin rings out oft phase to get some cogging .. makes some vibrations but at least the toy is working :D

Does anyone here know where or how i can get my hands on a prema mod bios for the old p151em i bought two months ago?

I read that a while back it was free and everybody could just download these bioses...but now it seems you need some sort of permission or an invite and i cant get either somehow?

Could someone provide me with these bios files? I'd REALLY appreciate it ;)

    Hi all.

I've got an old Laptop with (I think) a Clevo BIOS.
    The BIOS itself shows me:
    P150EMx
    BIOS V 1.02.14
    EC/KBC V 1.02.11

I've tried to replace my 512 MB Crucial SSD with a Samsung Pro 1TB - but the Samsung SSD will not be recognized at the BIOS (at every other PC the SSD works fine).

So I want to ask if someone heard/knows about this issue?
Is this maybe fixed by applying the latest BIOS (shown at the list at side one of this thread: V 1.02.17)?
And, at least, how am I able to figure out if it's a Clevo or a Sager BIOS - I've checked every page of the BIOS without any success :(
Any help is very, very, very appreciated, cause the manufacturer of the machine doesn't answer my email :(

The seller usually applies their logo to the lid and to the POST splash screen. But whomever you purchased from should be the one to provide an update, which may help with your SSD (and I believe the latest version for your model is 1.05.01).

A manufacturing company in Germany sold me the machine.
Unfortunately the 3 Year warranty is over snce last year, so I just have to relay on their goodwill :(

But at their actual webpage, I see they offer Clevo Notebooks, so I assume that my NB got also a Clevo-BIOS.

Many thanks, this could explain why I'm not able to determine the BIOS exactly.
And also thanks for the hint in regards to the version :)

you can use a Clevo BIOS then, not Sager.
read the first post of this thread, there is a link there to a Clevo BIOS repository. I think you may have to do the update in stages.

    Thanks Blacky.
I've checked Palkeo's mirror page link at the first page of this thread - and for me it looks like there are 2 newer versions: 1.02.16 & the latest one 1.02.17.
Regarding your words, I assume it would be the best way to install x.16 first and then x.17, instead of directly installing the latest version?

And also I do understand that there are no newer BIOS updates, so if this doesn't fix my SSD issue, I can break the 1TB-SSD idea :(

    Well, maybe I'm too stupid...

I've created a bootable USB-Stick with FreeDOS (using the Rufus tool) and copied both versions on it (into different folders for sure).
I've booted by the stick, run meset.exe, rebooted again by the stick and started flashme.bat from the .16 folder.
Everything passed, but there were 2 warnings: "PDR Region" & "GBE Region" does not exist.
OK, I've googled that, and they say this is no big issue.
But at the end, the batch tells me:
Start To Get OA30 Message ....No Message
    [PMODE/W]: Not Enough Memory Available!
    [PMODE/W]: Not Enough Memory Available!
And then I'm at the prompt and the fan runs as hell - after 5 minutes I've turned off the machine.
Then I tried again using the .17 folder - same result.
My NB has got 16GB RAM, the Stick 2GB, any idea?

Make sure to first update the EC, not the BIOS.

    Maybe use this:

    EC/KBC V 1.02.11

    &

BIOS V 1.02.14 November 2012 Link for EC (Hosted at bestmail.ws)

Link for BIOS(Hosted at bestmail.ws) CLEVO BIOS and EC for P151EM.
    1. System BIOS 1.02.14 for P151EM only.
    2. Support Windows 7 and Windows 8.
    3. Because 1.02.xx version BIOS can't work with 1.00.xx version EC, so it is necessary to make sure the EC firmware of machine is 1.02.xx, if the EC firmware of machine is 1.00.xx then the system will not boot up after update 1.02.xx system BIOS.
    4. It is necessary to follow the instruction of readme.txt to update system BIOS.

    1. EC firmware for P151EM only.
    2. Support Windows 7 and Windows 8.
    3. It is necessary to follow the instruction of readme.txt to update firmware.

First update the EC from the link and than update the BIOS.

Perfect, using MS-Dos was the jumping point, now I was able to update the BIOS.

Hmmm, EC is/was already version 1.02.11, so I didn't updated it seperately.

However, I was successfully able to manage the BIOS-update, so many, many thanks for your assistance!
Unfortunately the 1TB SSD is still not usable after the BIOS update.
If someone knows a newer EC/KBC version as 1.02.11 and a newer BIOS as 1.02.17, please let me know.

    Kind regards

There is a newer version of EC and Bios, made for Windows 10 support but I don't know if it's going to solve your issue.

Bios 1.05.01 and EC 1.05.01 (P150EM) made in August 2015

You could also try Prema mod v2 based on EC11 Bios17.

@Fbl - The memory error refers to flash ROM, not your system RAM.

Is there another .bat file listed as "Flash"? Fan behavior after running MESET usually is that the fans go full blast, but should return to normal/auto after updating the BIOS and the PC reboots.

EDIT: Just saw your latest post. There should be a 1.05.xx BIOS for the P150EM. Seems it's hard to come by, though.

Thanks for the information, and I'm able to confirm: it's quite hard to get those updates - I failed :(

I will have a look into that.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer of my NB came back with a reply: there are no further BIOS-updates, my machine has got the actuel level :(
I dropped him an answer about the newer version, but I fear I wasn't really polite...

However, if anyone is able to send me a link where I can get the new BIOS & EC, it would be wonderful.

    Hi all,

    Please help me

    I've flashed my Laptop clevo p150em with latest BIOS V 1.02.17 and EC/KBC V 1.02.11.
Now I want to reflash it again with latest original Eurocom bios

    EC V 1.02.11EC
    BIOS V1.02.17EC v3b GTX9

but there is a problem. I did everything according to the instructions, but after I ran step2.bat, the flashing process stoped itself and only the cursor was blinking in the lower corner (and nothing happened)

    There is movie link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0k1tqw3abwzmcpx/racer_p150em.mp4?dl=0

Generally I am not able to flash any other bios (the result is still the same)

Does anyone have any idea, how to solve it?

I also tried the following (unsuccessfully):

    Remove system battery, disconnect adapter.

Disconnect CMOS battery, hold down Power Button for 45 seconds.

Thank you in advance for your help

PS: the reason why i want to flash it, is GPU upgrade (from AMD 7970M - bricked, to NVIDIA 970M)

Hi, have you tried with another boot disk? (Rufus, etc)

What version of bios and EC is currently installed? (check from bios menu).

Yes, I tried rufus and HP USB boot disk tool. (this will probably not be a problem, because with the same media I did the other flash)

My current BIOS version is 1.00.10 and EC/KBC V 1.02.11.
The last change which I was able to proceed successfully was downgrade Bios version (from BIOS 1.02.17 to 1.00.10) .

I think there are some instances where you can't really downgrade from the BIOS. Not sure if this is one of those cases.

because my new GPU NVIDIA 970M is not detected properly, and it is not possible to boot into the system (caps-lock and num-lock led are blinking, speaker is beeping, the system shuts down after 1 minute due to termal problem). With the prema Bios system booted normally, although it was not detected by bios too.

Unfortunately as I wrote in the first post, I am not able to flash any other BIOS or EC (including prema) now.

I have already tried the following (unsuccessfully):
    P150EM_BIOS05 - Eurocom original
    P150EM_EC05 - Eurocom original
    P150EM_EC08 - Eurocom original
    P150EM_Bios10 - Eurocom original
    P150EM_EC11 - Eurocom original
    P150EM_BIOS/EC14-clevo - Clevo original
    P150EM_BIOS/EC16 - Eurocom original
    P150EM_BIOS/EC16-clevo - Clevo original
    P150EM_BIOS/EC17 - Eurocom original
    Racer_2.0_X_BIOS/EC_2T_nvidia9xx_latest - Eurocom original
    P150EM_17_11_PM_v2 - Prema
    P150EM_B17 - from this website
    P150EM_EC11 - from this website

With the same win98 boot disk image? Have you tried FreeDOS?

Beware that 1.00.xx and 1.02.xx EC/Bios can brick your system if installed together, don't try to downgrade the EC too.

Try to make a new bootdisk (I used the latest version of Rufus with freeDOS in my P150EM) and flash prema mod v2, then if it works try flashing v3b.

The Afudos version in pm2 is probably the cause of this error, you can try to swap it with a newer one or make a pure msdos boot disk. :)

You just need a newer version of Afudos.exe, not the whole bios archive.
But before doing that you should try to make a pure msdos disk, if you have a Win7 pc you can make one with Rufus (on win10 it only makes FreeDos bootdisks).

Try to PM Prema on this forum and see if he can help.

So you believe that by installing Eurcom BIOS your system will detect the 970M ?
So basically you want to install the Eurocom BIOS over your current bios.

There is a modified bios that enable gtx9xx detection without driver mods, it's made by Prema for Eurocom and distributed to customers that buy VGA upgrades from their shop (which are pre-flashed with a special vbios).

The flash procedure is very simple and straightforward (like prema mod v2), that's why I think he should try another boot disk image. :)

Yes, the latest Eurocom BIOS, should be able to detect the 970M, or at least I could boot OS (as it the case when prema_mod installed). But now with my actual BIOS, I am not able to boot OS and to install any other bios.

You could also try another boot media (cdrom)

Maybe something happened during the first flash, in this case you can restore it only with a flash programmer or by replacing it with a new one.

hello guys, i've a eurocom motherboard on my p170em (dont ask why, long story),
    my current bios informations are:
    Motherboard manufacturer: eurocom
    model: P170EMx
Bios rev. 1.02.16 (cant find it in this post)
    ec firmware rev: 1.02.12

i was thinking about changing my 7970m to a geforce 9xxm series but i'm bit confused about what i need to do, i've to change my bios to prema or not? it's normal that i can't find my 1.02.16 bios in the list?.. something change with my eurocom motherboard instead of the original clevo equipped?!

someone know what happens to Nesvara user, he manage to make his laptop work with eurocom bios and the 970m?

    thanks for help

I think that is custom bios from Eurocom and if you want it, you may need to talk to them directly.

From Eurocom? They have very high prices. I replaced my laptop's chassis with 70 euro, they asked 250 for a new one.

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I hope I do everything right. I'm not so good in English.
I have updated the P170EM BIOS. First EC. Unfortunately, the notebook does not start anymore.
There remains a black screen, fan running. What can I do to reset again. I beg your help. I'm desperate.

    Hi Blacky,
    thank you for your answer.
So first I had firmware: 1.00.07 and KBC / EC 1.00.06.
Then I installed EC09 and then EC12. After that B14.
Actually, I wanted to install B17 afterwards.
Can you help me? Is there an emergency button to reset a bios recovery point? What can I do?
