Any special instructions installing it? I'm coming from 12.7 beta official.

EDIT: Disregard. Whoever is wondering, install the CCC then the rest including the CAP3. I don't notice any difference when it comes to performance. I read the release notes but I was crossing my fingers that by some miracle it would kind of fix Enduro without AMD being aware (looong shot). LOL.

I looked there but the ActMgr directory isn't there, only directories in THX TruStudio Pro are APOIM and THXAudioCP. Why do i need CTActMgr.exe anyway?

It's the activation manager, it's not there? Uninstall and reinstall again, you can't use THX Studio pro with the onboard sound card without activating it.

    Hi,

this isn't a Clevo driver is it? How often do Clevo package up the AMD drivers into a distribution that will install onto our laptops? Or do we have to install the AMD Catalyst drivers manually if we want later drivers?

Clevo updates drivers on occasion, however AMD has yet to provide any manufacturer a driver that allows them to make any progress. Just ask anyone with CF 7970m in a AW

"Well with version 2 while it installs on the 680M (with optimus) it never actually uses the 680M, no matter if I say use the 680M for everything or if I individually choose programs." - Meaker

"304.79 is not a stable release for the 680M :(

Means we have to fall back to 302.77."

Edited by Meaker, Yesterday, 08:39 PM.

Since the Sager(reseller) gave me the 302.77 driver in a CD, and the new one that's from the main clevo website is 302.92, does that mean it is better?

What's the most stable driver for the 675m on an NP9170? I'm having screen flickering issues followed by a popup saying "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered." The whole machine including my mouse cursor would slow down until the machine just completely freezes or BSODs. I've tried the two betas on the Nvidia site (304.79 and 304.48) but they produce the same problem.

I'm able to run stuff smoothly (well, as smoothly as possible) by uninstalling the Nvidia driver and just playing on the Intel HD 4000 so it's either the Nvidia driver or the card itself. I'd want to test out any driver first before sending this in and any help would be appreciated as I haven't kept up with the driver releases for the 675m.

hm that rather sounds like a buggy gpu to me tbh. id rma is right away and get a replacement. once u uninstall the nvidia driver the dgpu isnt being used anymore,so i doubt its connected to the driver itself.

Yeah I'm thinking it's the Nvidia gpu. Last night I was playing Batman Arkham City nonstop until Guild Wars 2 launched, then I played that all night. All while on the Intel HD 4000 (using all low settings of course). Everything ran smoothly, no flickering, BSODS, slowdown or anything. I'm going to RMA for the gpu as soon as I can.

For future reference though, what are some proven good drivers for the 675m?

Been using 305.67, no issues so far. And in this version the Optimus check when a random application is launched no longer powers up the dGPU unless the application is assigned to the dGPU, this should help the battery life greatly just I haven't tested it yet.

Guys I tried the Audio driver 6.0.1.6581 for P370EM on Clevo site on my P170EM, and it actually brought back the sound effect tab, the sound at default is pretty much the same as stock but you can add bass through EQ with this driver (although it doesn't seem to work with 5.1/7.1 mode).

Edit: Also a few more options for 5.1/7.1 users

Speaker Fill: expand stereo source to all speakers (was previously done by THX). However, still need to find out it's just copying stereo source over or actually expanding, the voices seem to be coming from the center channel tho.

Enable Bass Management: All frequency under 80Hz will only be output through subwoofer. But this option might mess up the audio experience played using Dolby Prologic II.

Only the sound effect tab doesn't support 5.1/7.1, others all support. However these additional options will vanish when you install THX Pro

So i'm new to some of this, and just to be one the safe side i have a couple of questions.
First off, where is it that you check most of the driver numbers? I'm thinking especially about the GPU, since i have just been made aware of the 12.8 WHQL.
Secondly, i have almost always used to uninstall the previous driver before installing new. It have always worked, but I just want to make sure i'm doing it right. So what do you do when you install a new driver (I have 7970m)? do you just uninstall catalyst? I know this is a "noob" question, but please help :)

Hi, I have a P170HM and W150ERM, both running Windows 7 Ultimate X64, the sound drivers installs fine, but the THX drivers arent working for neither of them, the sound in the W150ERM is really low and sounds like garbage, the P170HM sounds okay i think, but still, no THX and no options for bass etc.

The drivers i tried were from the Clevo site and the driver CD.

When you see the THX Control panel , there are more options to show you, on the top right you see a little drop down box, open that and select ur audio card and as well the output, you can choose between the built in laptop speakers or select external speakers if you connected the notebook to external speakers. then it should work. But the build in speakers are dreadfull. no matter what you would use those tiny thinkgs dont even deserve the term speakers
    hehe

Here you see a pic with the extra options mine is in dutch but in english yours should mention settings and select audio device hope that will solve ur sound probs

When you download THX, make sure you activate it.
I didn't do that at first and I thought it wasn't working.

After you activate it, it should be fine.

When my W110ER arrives, I'm thinking to install all official clevo drivers, then go piece-by-piece of hardware to it's manufacturer and download latest drivers for everything.

Wouldn't this probably improve performance and probably fix a lot of problems?

At least I have been doing this to almot any other laptops\desktops, and have always worked good, don't know for the clevo's.

    Thanks anyway.

It will take some time until I get it :( (Already paid, but the store has lot of work)...

When I get mine I will be doing some heavy tests. And will test a lot with official Clevo drivers, then go to each manufacturer site and download latest drivers for everything piece-by-piece of hardware and test again, then compare the results.

However I'm thinking to initially already start the tests with all official Clevo installed, but with latest GT650 drivers from nvidia site (Because there would probably be significant difference from GPU drivers, and may not make it to see if actually the other drivers for the rest improved the laptop or not)...

Don't need THX to get the subwoofer working, you can tick bass management in the panel.

The sound comes out softer with this one compared to stock, which sounds better. If you install THX you can control the crossover frequency for the subwoofer, however without THX you can still use the Bass management option, but the crossover frequency will be locked at 80Hz. Also THX surround does sound better than Speaker Fill option from Realtek, the sound stage with Realtek Speaker Fill sounds a lot more narrow.

However, installing THX also means EQ will vanish. But I came up with a way to trick the Realtek and let it think that the THX isn't installed, and that way the EQ still exists, you can take a look at this post:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/686257-sound-card-improve-amplify-sound-without-headphones-2.html#post8819213

Edit: EQ tweaking actually works with 5.1/7.1, I was playing with it just now :D. If you plan to use it without THX, remember to tick FL/FR for full range speaker and also tick bass management, then start tweaking the EQ :D.

Please note this is only for 5.1/7.1 users, 2.0 users should look for USB sound card as their solution.

thank you hackness. i am only concern about 2.0 performance. i am looking for a way to increase the treble coming out from the built-in speakers. now i have to move crystalizer in thx to max plus move up the treble in eq in my music player software together to get an acceptable quantity of high frequency.

All drivers can be found on either Clevo's or Sager's site. The Control Center is the hotkey.

Question, guys. I have a Np8170, currently running the 9.2.0.1021 HM67 Express chipset, according to Intel's website. I think a problem I am having is related to the chipset, so I want to update to the latest version. This thread says the latest version is the 9.2.3.1022. But Intel's site says that version is for the x79 chipset. Is it okay for me to install version 9.2.3.1022?
Also, the link to the drivers seems to be dead.
    Thanks in advance.

well not automatically per se...but im uaing KC Sumo in order to keep track of any updates on programs & drivers. u should check it out (google is ur friend) ;)

hm, afaik the drivers should cover not only one type but a whole bunch of different chipsets, thus the series 6 should be included as well. just give it a try, if it doesnt work then revert back to the previous version :)

    cheers

By the way, if you want the latest Hotkey version, just download it from CLEVO website, go to P370EM download page ;) there you will find hotkey 6.0058.
I already tested it and it works fine in P150EM and P170EM.

PS. You have to unistall previous version first, although it might tell you it can update it´s all lies :p it will give you a network error if you don´t uninstall first.
