Did you check if your FireWire is JMicron or Texas Instrument?

The reason why I didn't post the firewire driver here is because to install the last update I tried it I had to manually force it since the inf did not have the right vendor id, the driver worked fine but not everyone likes being told to force install a driver, modding the inf would have just broken the signature resulting in the driver not loading at all while signature enforcement is active.

I see they have since corrected this and the last update installed fine for me normally, I'll add it to the list.

If remember correctly it's JMicron... anyway, the driver installed without issues.

Just saw that the download link on the first page that reads "JMicron Gigabit LAN Driver version 6.0.30.8" leads to the "JMicron Card Reader Driver version 1.00.63" file...

The correct version number is 0.0.30.8 and correct link is:

    JMC2xx_WinDrv_R0.0.30.8_WHQL.zip

Download link is fixed, it was meant to point here but apparently my editor duped my link for the card reader driver.

The version of the driver package is 6.0.30.8/5.0.30.8, it actually contains two driver revs. 1 for each of different hardware types, the gigabit being the first one.

When you install the driver you will see the gigabit adapter listed in device manager as having driver version 6.0.30.8 which is the actual version number.

    tl;dr: driver version is 6.0.30.8, not 0.0.30.8.

    Hi
I am thinking of swapping the optical bay for a HD caddy. Will that work out of the box or any special driver is needed?
Mine is a P150 but not from Sager, it comes from MOUNTAIN - WorkStations, Servidores, PCs Sobremesa y Portátiles - ALTO RENDIMIENTO .
Any vendor you can suggest me in Europe/eBay?

What about Optimus? Is it possible to change its settings somewhere, I can t see anything in the bios ? My bios settings are very scarce.

    tx

No, you don't need any special driver for an optical caddy. It's really just a super fancy SATA to SATA extension cable with an enclosure. Any 12.7mm SATA caddy will work, though you may have trouble getting the front bezel mounted on some. Seems to be luck of the draw if you aren't getting one from a reseller, but it's just aesthetic anyway.

What optimus settings were you looking for? There isn't much you can change with it other than on/off with the hard button.

These will work for a P170HM, correct?

Also, something seems...weird. This will be my first ATI card and there seems to be an enormous difference in driver file sizes.

ATI Catalyst Mobility package 11.7 = 1.1MB in size.
nVidia Verde 280.26 driver package = 183MB in size.

What the dealio? Are ATI driver packages less robust or just more streamlined and less bloated?

You can look @ the post date. I usually post the driver update @ same day.

Are you installing them using Device Manager?

Added dates to the releases, will try to make them less eye straining to read when I have a free moment.

Same with my "last update" text at the top of the post, I also put what was added in the edit text so people know what was at the time of the edit.

I'd been against adding dates for a while because there were a few times where the dates were inconsistent between when the driver showed up, when the driver released and what version actually showed up when installed for a few of the drivers but it seems thats worked out now so I'll be adding dates where applicable from now on.

Also thank you to all who have contributed to this thread.

the way i have been trying is the install via the Setup.exe for the wireless suite. it runs the installation of the software + driver at the same time. should i uninstall and try the driver only via device manager?

    Hello everybody,
I'm new to this forum and have a question regarding an unknown driver / device.
Once I go to computer management it shows an unknown device. After a little google search about the hardware ID I found out that its some kind of IR-device
I tried installing nvidias USB IR-Driver but without any result?
Does anybody have any ideas what this is or what driver I could try?

what are your system's spec? Did it shipped with TV tuner? I distinctly remember that P150HM/1 and P170HM had a IR receiver somewhere on the front.
