When receiving a new machine, is the general process as follows?

    1. Install Windows 7
    2. Install all drivers related to the machine listed in the OP of this thread

Asking because Windows 7 generally installs with drivers for *most* hardware. I want to make sure it is safe/recommended that one installs the drivers in this thread OVER those standard Windows install drivers.

Is anyone else having issues installing the reference Mobility Catalyst 11.9 drivers on Clevo laptops? I've got a brand-new Malibal here, and when I try to run the installer from AMD I get an error about there not being any appropriate hardware installed. Very frustrating, considering how high end the 6990M hardware is.

    Atmosk;

Sager did an upgrade on my 8690 to the v2 system board and a GTX470m.

I'm seeing a USB controller in device manager that has no drivers loaded that I assume is the USB 3.0 controller. Sager's site has no driver showing available for download (what a surprise!). Do you know what USB controller this is in the v2 version of the 8690 and where I can get the driver?

    TIA

    S.

Now the USB 3 feels like it's USB 3.

Before I was getting slow speeds, maybe about 50MB/s Max.

    Now I get 100MB/s.. Awesome!

    Hi Patrick,

    Thanks for your help :)

Can you (or anyone else) explain this 'Intel Chipset Device Software' driver version oddity?

Latest available on the Intel website: v9.2.0.1030 (4/21/2011)
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...Series+Chipset

Latest available on the Clevo website: v9.2.0.1021
    CLEVO - Download

Latest available in the Cleve drivers thread: v9.2.3.1017 (6/16/11)
    Clevo Driver Thread

Why is the version in the driver thread such a higher version number?
Are we sure this is for the HM65 chipset?

isn't there any site with all the latest drivers listed for each clevo notebook? If not, maybe someone is interested to maintain such a site? Could offer a webserver & html-code/whatever. Getting my MALIBAL soon and I'm not sure where to get a bios update, which intel driver, nvidia driver, etc.

For yu I think Malibel are best to answer but I know that I was told that with some drivers it is relative to the build combination. That is why NVidia say get your driver updates from your computer supplier and only download from NVidia if you bought the original direct from NVidia.

That is another issue we are having with Kobalt going bust... These driver threads are great though 'cos no-one told me I had to activate the THX until I read it here.. yay I did it!

MALIBAL = Clevo = Sager.. so actually all the drivers should be the same. I know that often NVIDIA / Intel tell you to use the drivers that came with the laptop... but so far I never had problems with any newer drivers (or DOX drivers). Drivers being built related... hmm I guess you could be right with that. Maybe we should make lists then where you easily find out what driver you will need for your hardware?

    On another topic:
I've upgraded my touchpad driver to the latest version 15.3.17 but the scroll function has stopped functioning.
Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

Two finger scrolling is the default. Go to mouse settings and change it over there.

    Hello everyone,

Anybody found some mobility mod for the recent ATI driver that's been optimized for the game Rage? I'd be very happy to have that one; with 11.10 preview and 11.09 I'm experiencing a lot of slight hiccups all the time (not to mention it' be nice to have less texture pop in if possible).
Two weeks ago some mobility mod for 11.10 preview seriously improved my Battlefield 3 beta experience, so it would be groovy to experience that again with this game!

    Playing on:
    P170HM: i7 2720QM, 8 gb ram, 6970M 2gb.

Love to hear from ya! Greetings

Pretty sure there is a an ATI Rager Driver specifically designed to improve performance of that game?

Guru of 3D: PC Hardware Reviews and tests -> forums -> ATI Drivers.

I think one of the top threads will be very rage-centric with drivers posted in the first post.

    You mean this topic? AMD Catalyst 11.10 Preview2 [BF3 & RAGE Driver] (8.901.2 October 6) - Guru3D.com Forums

But that's for the desktop version right? Skimmed through the 15 pages of the thread but no mentioning of a mobility version!

Edit: I'm assuming you need a specific mobility version (or mod of the desktop driver) to use on a notebook, right?

That's the Sager OEM driver. The one that I posted is working fine on my laptop. Some people, like me, prefer having the latest drivers.
