Has anyone had good/bad experiences with AVADirect Custom Computers? I read through this entire thread and didn't see them mentioned.

They have a 9.6/10 on resellerratings.com and are BBB accredited. I only ask because they seem to have more options in Clevo customization than most of the other sites I've checked. However, I do understand (I think) that if they don't have reps that are active in these forums they might not be mentioned.

They have 1 or two, not quite sure. But that doesn't make them bad, not everyone can have reps on forums 24/7, I guess it's a volunteer work :)

By any chance do you know why they aren't mentioned in the suggested reseller list? I guess I'm curious as to whether they are tough to work with or just don't have much presence here so they aren't listed.

Please note that there are many resellers that are not listed here on this thread.

The 2.0 guide, while extensive, is dated.. The resellers listed here have all been proven here on NBR.

If there's a reseller you'd like to see included, yoh could do a little of the work yourself! It would take almost the same amount of time to fire off an email to a reseller asking for the info Mysterious has included in his tables as it will for you to complain about the list not being extensive enough for you..

My guess is that once he gets settled at school he'll expand the list to include a a list of alternative resellers. If I were him, I would just list the company and maybe some contact details about them. Perhaps him or another user could then shoot off an email to see if these alternative resellers would like to participate here on NBR. That would hopefully gain more support from non-North American resellers!

Has anyone ever heard of pro-star computers? My bud bought a laptop from them but I've never heard of them nor do I see many reviews! Can someone share their experience with them? Crap customer service? Bad quality?

I would like to personally welcome back Larry from LPC Digital back to the Clevo Guide :) It's good to see you again.

edit: Also, I'll be updating the Clevo Guide to include the new(er) models and delete the older ones. If someone could help me out by listing the ones that need to be deleted and added, I would greatly appreciate it. Here's what I have so far:

    Add:
    9130
    9150
    2240
    2252
    3260
    6110
    6165
    6175
    9170

    Remove:
    8130
    8150
    8170
    251HNQ
    5160
    5165
    170HR

    Anything else?

hello i am a new user here :D i was looking thru the resellers page and you seem to miss some company called DigitalStormOnline they have a forum and i think they don't re-brand from sager i think they build from clevo just checking if anyone on here knows about them as from their forum they seem to be very helpful and they have good reviews :)
also can anyone help me? trying to buy a w110er from ksa and don't which is the best reseller i checked digitalstorm bcz they say they have a standard 3 year warranty i think and almost all of their customers are happy with their business. but they are not really the one company with the cheapest price tho :/
so who are really the best reseller?

All right, so I added a new reseller: Aftershock PC. Welcome :)

And I added the W110ER, P151EM1, P150EM, and the P170EM. I know I've been lazy and procrastinating all this, and I apologize, but at least they're up.

Could someone help me with the end of the first post? To me it looks like the bar with the "reply", "reply with quote" and stuff on it is above the table for the P170EM; sometimes it even appears in the next post! EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out :p

If anyone could find some NBR reviews of the products, I would happily add them (and give Rep as well). Finally, I'm going to add the next two most popular laptops on NBR to my guide. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Mr. Mysterious

    They've had some problems...
    Check THIS REVIEW out!

Definitely not worth it if you want trouble, but hey.. this isn't the case for every single of their customers though. But still, bad incidence is a bad incidence

Hi all, I'm a new user.
Is there a reseller that will accept an international visa credit card? I want to buy a clevo, but I'm from Argentina and the only way I can pay it is using my credit card. Currently there is no means of getting us dollars here (at least not legally) so a bank wire wouldn't be an option. The shipping address would be in USA.
Sorry if someone asked it before.
    Thanks!

Yes we will take international credit cards, but with a split US shipping address you will have to fax / email some documentation of both addresses to prevent fraud.. You can email us for more information.

this may be my question... sort of. Actually, I am looking to get a laptop with 2 HDD bays (I have an SSD and HDD in my lenovo T400.) I have upgraded and they are SATA 3 (yes, I know that the T400 doesn't support them at full speed). I want a system with empty drive bays, but with CPU, GPU, etc. I would like an OD as well (currently, the 750GB HDD is in a drive caddy... would like my CD / DVD back). Is there anything other than a 17-inch form with 2 drive bays PLUS optical?

Is it just as easy for me to get what I want with a base drive, no Op Sys and just swap the drives?
    Thanks

Can someone update the FAQ to mention that Clevo laptops have fans controlled by the EC, therefore no fan control software will work on it? And that Clevo laptops are known to have bad fan profiles.

My P151EM1B is set to turn the CPU fan on at 50 degrees and turn off at 40 degrees. The idle temp is 47 degrees. End result : The fan turns on/off literally every minute or less....and the revving up noise is driving me crazy.

Do some of the Clevo resellers from the Clevo Guide 2.0 apply to 3.0? Some of the vendors don't seem to exist anymore, but some are still there like Eurocom.

I've got an x8100 with dual 5870m cards, but I've had graphics-related issues with it since I bought the rig a few years back, I'm looking to upgrade to something else/swap to nVidia cards. Does anyone know how high I can go and what steps I would need to take? (Other than physically replacing the cards, of course.)

Hi good morning, I would like to know if anyone knows how to control the fans manually laptop, I searched and found nothing, I've seen that in previous Clevo pressing Fn +1 if it worked, but it is not. Any idea? The clevo that I have is the P157SM or XMG P503.

    Hi
im not sure about your model if it works or not.
My P502 from last year EM model does not have that option but the previous years HM model does.
if it says it has that option in the user manual then it could just need the hotkey driver loaded again.
do the other hotkeys work like Fn F11 for wifi

    Hello,

Has anybody here contacted, or bought a laptop from linux-onlineshop.de? I have tried to contact them by e-mail, but haven't received answers in a week. I get automatic responses with a ticket number, so my mails are getting through alright. It seems rather fishy.

There are no upcoming model refreshes that we know of. The latest ones are the ones you find on the Resellers sites which reflect the most current change which was the Nvidia 8XXM series GPU's.

Hello, I"m looking at various sites, mainly AVAdirect and Xotic PC but I don't have an idea what a Soundcard is or does.

Lets just say I already have a good receiver that can support 7.1 uncompressed. I want my Laptop to also output 7.1 channel uncompressed for some of the materials I have, especially the blueray movies and games. Do I need to get some sound card (and it also sounds like it must use a USB port?) to play 7.1 (again) Uncompressed audio or can the basic support 7.1 Uncompressed if it's over HDMI (which it should because the receiver is doing the decoding, from how i understand and it's digital to digital).

    thanks

***Edit, also is the Xforce Xotic's rebranded msi computers or something? Is it the cheapest option if i don't care about looks?
