    That looks nice.

Did you ask for that design? Or did it automatically come like that?

I'd like to have Miss Malevolent on my laptop.

It came like that, which I prefer over an OEM logo.

so do we know for 100% that the 9850 does not support OC!? I really cant believe that. No company would make such a mistake right now. With W90 and m17x out, that is a massive let down.

Well, if you keep spending so much time browsing the forums here, we might begin to wonder.... ;) ;)

jk - with a reasonable explanation to hand, I don't think anyone doubts that you have it.

I was playing crysis warhead and my temp on my second gpu jump until 80 degree Celsius :S

The cpu and first gpu was around 75 degree

Setting was at Gamer and res was 1680*1050

I order a cryo lx. I'll see if the temps get much better

Those temperatures are just fine. Anything below 95C is ok...and short times slightly above that is ok too.

80 and 75 degrees are considered high now? No.

Also, why are you playing at 16:10 resolutions on a 16:9 LCD? You should be at 1600x900.

75 is not high but that magic line for me is 80. Thats how I judge a good cooling system. If it goes over that or reaches 80 then its no good. lol. so far only ona laptop in the world was able to achieve that. 9262 ftw!!!

    EDIT;
ok guys so I looked at the alienware section and that m18x is actually a very well thought out laptop. GPU.s on the opposite sides of the lappy (keeps the temps down), OC in bios. I kinna like it more then the sager. lol.

btw, for those who want to overclock the CPU on the NP9850, you can try nTune to play with the FSB and see if that works.

How hard is it to swap out CPUs?

I have the Core 2 Duo T9600 CPU and was thinking of putting in a Quad Core once the prices drops.

Are there huge gains to be had with the quad core?

thx, mate. Thats really helpful. Especially for gophn as he might need it when he s reviewing the 9850. Without your "how to OC a cpu" I m sure, the review would have never been done properly.

Reseller thinks it is my OS which is causing that error. That is why I am asking what OS other people are using. So I can see if the problem really is win7 or not. :/

I know that, but where can you check? It's not on the Clevo site, is that because they don't deal directly with consumers?

What is it you want to check, Dazman? As you've ascertained, Clevo doesn't deal directly with consumers; however, they do have a small support site that end-users can access. The frontpage for that rump support site is here. Of course, not everything is available from that site, including this particular BIOS update.

If you just want to verify which version of the BIOS you have, you should be able to get the version number of your current BIOS from the System Information applet in _Vista, and then check it against the version number for the BIOS release that's hotlinked above.

I've already been to the site, but don't see a BIOS listed anywhere as you mentioned.

How do you update the BIOS using the one provided above?
