Can you elaborate?

Ugh, I've elaborated about this so many times, I should have kept my mouth shut. I'm not going to derail this thread with my horrible experiences with Eurocom. I have made some posts about my experience with them in the NBR forums, if you want to know more just look for those.
Back to the topic at hand, I'm looking forward to seeing some nice HQ pics of your new rig, and a detailed review, I'll have some +rep for you when you post em. -
anyone found a laptop bag that will cary this beast yet.

The Eagle has landed!

I pre-ordered this a few weeks ago. I can't wait till it comes out! Though I think it got delayed because I ordered it from Xoitc PC and before it said Mid-July and now it says Early August.
Also if you are looking for a case for it get this one:

It is the only bag I have found that will fit the 9850 and it looks really nice -

And, as you so succinctly put it, they said it, not you. That is the only thing that continues to bother me about them - they use puffery and rhetoric to try and convert performance that is merely competent into performance that is outstanding, and that's not fair to anyone.
At any rate, what in God's name are you still doing on the forum? You've got a kick-a computer just sitting around gathering dust while you hobnob around here, get in there and get a review out, pronto, your fan club awaits thee! -
ya, go play with your toy and tell us everything! Like can you OC it, temp also...and picture! lot of it!

Where are the speakers on this unit? Are they along the hinge for the lid as shown in this pic? I know there is a sub woofer in the bottom. I also thought there might be a couple of speakers in the front vents, but I hope that is not the only location.
-
Just got in. Here is a pic of my ASUS G50V-A1 on the left. Now I created that thing on the right out of cardboard.
Good job if I do say so myself.Attached Files:

I believe they are where you think they are, and also there are 2 more just inside the front vents, as well as a sub.
-
Excellent cardboard job, Dazman!
I'm willing to bet you are quite happy... -
-
you should show K-Tron that cardboard work... to help him finish his custom OCTITRON.
-
LCD looks bright and clear. Awesome. :O
-
That Asus is hideous though ...
Throw it away. -
Just getting windows up and running then SP2, but I have to admit this thing is nice. I did consider the the Alienware M17x, but this looks better.

It's about time we had a M980 owner's lounge thread then, isn't it?

Alright I installed win7 and half of my drivers, which I got from my Reseller do not work.
-

Let Windows 7 install the drivers during installation, then go to Windows Update to get the rest.
Then go into Device Manager and if there are still devices that don't have their drivers loaded, right click and Update Drivers.
Report back exactly which drivers you might be missing after doing this. -
Just got the mail... mine has been dispatched from Novatech and will arrive tomorrow... expect full review by tomorrow evening

bios: 1.00.01

anyone get linux running successfully?
-
Just got mine from Eurocom today, and thought I could avoid the hell that is Vista. Turns out that I can't get Windows XP Pro on this (32 or 64 bit). 64 blue screens, and when I got into the BIOS to change options, when I choose "Other" for the OS, instead of "Vista OS" the Bios doesn't recognize any of the drives anymore.
Anyone able to get XP on this? I'm holding out for Win 7 at this point myself, and I don't want to go to VISTA when 7 is so close. -
Install Windows 7 RC then.
-
-
OH and I could not find anything about OCing in BIOS. Did I miss it somehow? =(

I did right click them and "installed" them but it still shows me an "!" next to the device.
I had a 2,53 Duo Core and upgraded to a 2,53 Quad Core.
If you tell me where to search in BIOS for OCing I can try finding it. So far I could not find anything.
Edit
Downloading the files thanks! -

If after installing, the base devices are still in your device drivers with errors, uninstall and reboot for proper redetection.
-
-
all fine now!
Can anyone tell me what to do about OCing?^^ -
So I grabbed Win 7 RC x64, and upon boot up, immediately ran into a BSOD. c000021a, and I'm finding nothing on the web that helps. I'm beginning to think the BIOS is heavily flawed or hardware. Anyone have a suggestion? Only OS that I might be able to get on there is Ubuntu at this point, but that sorta defeats the purpose of a gaming laptop.

So Vista won't install gpsclair?
-
oshi.. trying to play bioshock and the backround of the game is flickering.. D:
-
make sure that Bioshock is updated.
and make sure nothing is running behind Bioshock that can cause that flicker... like sidebars, animated stuff, etc. -
I don't have Vista to install, nor do I want it. If these laptops didn't run XP, why was XP being sold as an option with them, I'm wondering. Kind of frustrating.
-
I've got mine on order from Sager still. I need the 9850 for college, so I called them and they put me for the 1st batch shipped for US!
Now, I just wait.
Oh, I found a good bag that's very spacey, and good price.
http://www.amazon.com/Miltigiant-Largest-Multi-Design-Case/dp/B000M4RDNG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=office-products&qid=1247713871&sr=8-1 (It's actually supposed to say MultiGiant)
I got it in the mail today. Very nice. I can fit my Nintendo Wii and Sega Dreamcast as well as the laptop. xD Fits up to 20 inch laptops, has small bag inside for cords, 3 cd pockets (2 or 3 fit each), 3 wide pockets for small devices (iPods, cameras), 1 cell phone pocket, 3 business card pockets, 2 smaller sized pockets (perfectly fits my Nintendo DS Lite, as well as small cords/usb drives), mid-size pocket for mouse/speakers/more CDs, large side pocket on the lid (very large, I can fit my original fat PS2 inside xD), as well as very thick padding around the case to keep everything safe (about an inch thick). -
That one look big enough to fit a 17" laptop (like a D900) and it's PSU inside.
Dicota bags are a bit pricey though. -
It does look like it, but I have a 17". It's got tons more space left... It's a lot bigger than the picture shows.
You're right on the price, but most bags I find for 18" and above are like 80US$. I got it new at Amazon for 50US$ -

Besides your vendor, who did you see selling the NP9850 with XP? -
-
My Novatech X1 has just arrived
What a machine... only thing that has dissapointed me so far is that all of the lights don't change colour... the ones around the touchpad and the media buttons remain bliue all of the time
-

Funnily enough that's one of the first things I noticed on the pre-production models, the colours change on the top panel but you can't see that when using the laptop.
You can however project your mood to others with the colours though....
