Ugh, I've elaborated about this so many times, I should have kept my mouth shut. I'm not going to derail this thread with my horrible experiences with Eurocom. I have made some posts about my experience with them in the NBR forums, if you want to know more just look for those.

Back to the topic at hand, I'm looking forward to seeing some nice HQ pics of your new rig, and a detailed review, I'll have some +rep for you when you post em.

I pre-ordered this a few weeks ago. I can't wait till it comes out! Though I think it got delayed because I ordered it from Xoitc PC and before it said Mid-July and now it says Early August.

Also if you are looking for a case for it get this one:

    http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Accessories/ROCCAT-Tusko/

It is the only bag I have found that will fit the 9850 and it looks really nice :)

I know, and I hope you didn't think I was going after you in any way. I see no reason why you should suffer on account of someone else, so I bear not the slightest ill will toward you. I'm just glad that I was wrong and that you did, in fact, get a production model of the unit you ordered, albeit with only a 2mpeg camera instead of a 3mpeg camera.

And, as you so succinctly put it, they said it, not you. That is the only thing that continues to bother me about them - they use puffery and rhetoric to try and convert performance that is merely competent into performance that is outstanding, and that's not fair to anyone.

At any rate, what in God's name are you still doing on the forum? You've got a kick-a computer just sitting around gathering dust while you hobnob around here, get in there and get a review out, pronto, your fan club awaits thee! :D

Where are the speakers on this unit? Are they along the hinge for the lid as shown in this pic? I know there is a sub woofer in the bottom. I also thought there might be a couple of speakers in the front vents, but I hope that is not the only location.

Just got in. Here is a pic of my ASUS G50V-A1 on the left. Now I created that thing on the right out of cardboard.

Good job if I do say so myself.

Let Windows 7 install the drivers during installation, then go to Windows Update to get the rest.

Then go into Device Manager and if there are still devices that don't have their drivers loaded, right click and Update Drivers.

Report back exactly which drivers you might be missing after doing this.

Just got mine from Eurocom today, and thought I could avoid the hell that is Vista. Turns out that I can't get Windows XP Pro on this (32 or 64 bit). 64 blue screens, and when I got into the BIOS to change options, when I choose "Other" for the OS, instead of "Vista OS" the Bios doesn't recognize any of the drives anymore.

Anyone able to get XP on this? I'm holding out for Win 7 at this point myself, and I don't want to go to VISTA when 7 is so close.

I did right click them and "installed" them but it still shows me an "!" next to the device.

I had a 2,53 Duo Core and upgraded to a 2,53 Quad Core.

If you tell me where to search in BIOS for OCing I can try finding it. So far I could not find anything.

    Edit
    Downloading the files thanks!

So I grabbed Win 7 RC x64, and upon boot up, immediately ran into a BSOD. c000021a, and I'm finding nothing on the web that helps. I'm beginning to think the BIOS is heavily flawed or hardware. Anyone have a suggestion? Only OS that I might be able to get on there is Ubuntu at this point, but that sorta defeats the purpose of a gaming laptop.

make sure that Bioshock is updated.

and make sure nothing is running behind Bioshock that can cause that flicker... like sidebars, animated stuff, etc.

I don't have Vista to install, nor do I want it. If these laptops didn't run XP, why was XP being sold as an option with them, I'm wondering. Kind of frustrating.

I've got mine on order from Sager still. I need the 9850 for college, so I called them and they put me for the 1st batch shipped for US! :D
    Now, I just wait.

Oh, I found a good bag that's very spacey, and good price.
http://www.amazon.com/Miltigiant-Largest-Multi-Design-Case/dp/B000M4RDNG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=office-products&qid=1247713871&sr=8-1 (It's actually supposed to say MultiGiant)

I got it in the mail today. Very nice. I can fit my Nintendo Wii and Sega Dreamcast as well as the laptop. xD Fits up to 20 inch laptops, has small bag inside for cords, 3 cd pockets (2 or 3 fit each), 3 wide pockets for small devices (iPods, cameras), 1 cell phone pocket, 3 business card pockets, 2 smaller sized pockets (perfectly fits my Nintendo DS Lite, as well as small cords/usb drives), mid-size pocket for mouse/speakers/more CDs, large side pocket on the lid (very large, I can fit my original fat PS2 inside xD), as well as very thick padding around the case to keep everything safe (about an inch thick).

That one look big enough to fit a 17" laptop (like a D900) and it's PSU inside.
Dicota bags are a bit pricey though.

It does look like it, but I have a 17". It's got tons more space left... It's a lot bigger than the picture shows.

You're right on the price, but most bags I find for 18" and above are like 80US$. I got it new at Amazon for 50US$

Well, while not technically selling the NP9850 as such, but rather selling the Clevo M980NU under the private label of "XCaliber" there is a certain company we've all grown to know and love, whom apparently failed to fully update their online configurator, as demonstrated in the attached screenshot, which was taken of this webpage (with the OS selection drop-down menu activated, of course).

Funnily enough that's one of the first things I noticed on the pre-production models, the colours change on the top panel but you can't see that when using the laptop.

You can however project your mood to others with the colours though....
