I'm sorry to ask this without reading the thread, but is the 7970M HDMI/DVI output now working on P1x0HM ? As far as I remember it wasn't, but this was while ago...

My beast is already here and i installed it today. I will try to post some benches tomorrow since im rly tired today
-
hope u ll enjoy ur beast!!
-
My score. Seems legit for stock clocks. I wont try to overclock it tho, i like it that way
Just for the record the temps went up to 72C in that benchmark. While gaming they stayed in mid to high 60's.

What drivers are u using guys? I cant get WOW maxed out.. at 1080p. Im using the one from amd site.
-
really?? thats weird, wow should be running away at like 100+ fps, even maxxed out! whats ur driver version? im using the 12.10 whql from www.benchmark3d.com
cheers

jaybee, maybe you should add that the 12.10 WHQL for embedded APU's is identical to the 12.9 Official Beta. Absolutely no difference, apart of the .inf supporting embedded APU's too now.
-
-
Thanks for the replies guys.
@ Jaybee The utilisation is going up to 50% only, when im benching or using Kombustor its going up to 99% but not when i'm playing WOW. I'm using the 12.8 from amd site and today after i replace my ram will try the drivers that you posted to see if there will be any difference.
P.S. I have the cap installed from amd site too. -
that utilization thingy in wow is weird, that shouldnt happen... did u make sure ure running all systems in performance mode? no powersavings etc?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 -
I cant find any settings in ccc other than that im not on powersaver mode
After the driver upgrade my fps went even worse, dropping to 16
-
my np8150 is hooked up to a tv if i order the 7970m can i still use the hdmi>?
-
-
@beavy: have u completely removed the gpu driver using driversweeper?maybe reinstalling wow could help as well. do u have that under-utilization issue in benchmarks as well? whats ur 3dmark11 score for example at stock clocks?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 -
I uninstalled and cleaned before installing the other driver
-
that looks to be alright, even tho its a tad on the low side of expectations, but nothing as drastic as the 50% utilization would initially suggest id say.
what do ur temps look like under load btw? do u have the possibility of using an alternative hard drive to check and see if a windows fresh install would possibly help out in your situation?

you mention dvi like its a good thing. most tvs dont have dvi only some monitors.
is there a workaround to hooking it up to my tv via a converter or adaptor and if there is will the hdmi work the same? -
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
Dvi to hdmi cables are under $5 shipped on ebay.
You just wouldn't get the audio that you normally get with hdmi. -
does hdmi work with the 680m
-

From what I have read, yes with the 680m HDMI works.

Is Dell 680M compatible with P150HM?
-
I was wondering on stock voltage for the 7970m on the 170EM, how stable is 950/1400 on windows 8 pro? Also what are the temps?
-
950/1400 shouldnt be a problem at stock voltage. my OC at 1045/1485 reaches max temps of 82C after 20min. kombustor using win8 pro. altho im wondering why you ask this question in a HM thread when u have an EM machine?

3DMark11 score no OC with new 12.11 Beta1 driver P6586!!!
AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2860QM Processor,CLEVO P150HMx score: P6586 3DMarks
I was hoovering around 5900 before. AMD did magic this time!
Edit: Just noticed that the memory clock does not idle, while core does. So the card idles at 46 now and not 37... Maybe the beta fix that coming out later today will fix it. -
-
btw, heres my 3dmark11 score with the 12.11 drivers @1045/1485: AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2860QM Processor,CLEVO P150HMx score: P7419 3DMarks
oh yeah baby YEAH! -
Nice workaround jaybee! Exciting that the driver brings more power to non enduro laptops like ours, I was expecting enduro fixes only.
-
Those of you who have exhausted 3dmark 11 with these preview drivers, should test Vantage - seeing even bigger jumps there
I know im p370em, but still was almost a 10% jump- would of thought single cards would do as well if not better
If this all turns out as good as it is looking at the moment, maybe , just maybe , the 4 month wait for some em users with enduro, will NEARLY be worth it .... early days though, i know. -
in vantage im only seeing a 1.4% boost whereas 3dmark11 sports almost 10%. i guess they specifically improved CF performance in this case
-
Great jump in performance ... hope that they haven't cheated by reducing texture quality or filtering like ati and nvidia have done in the past ...
-
MSI Afterburner 2.2.1 works with the switch -xcl, but not 2.2.4, I could not get that to work whatever I did, but the older version did the trick. Now I have normal Idle temps, yes!
-
no cheating this time around!

Can somebody with ATI card check if your HDMI out working with the new driver?
-
sheldorconqueror Notebook Consultant
-
oh? really? nice, gotta check that out for myself then
would be good news indeed if the HDMI issue was fixed as well
-
TIA -
^ a pic would be great!!
-
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
I think he must have an EM notebook if his HDMI works, because I have the latest driver and have just tested HDMI again and no it still doesn't work
-
I also tried the HDMI with the beta4 driver and it does not work.
-
huh, too bad..

Anyone tried a P370EM 7970m vBIOS yet? Curious if our BIOS (and 3DMark) would detect the 7970m with that vBIOS
-
sure, anyone with either too much money or balls of steel could go ahead and try. i for one wont

I don't have too much money but if someone could give me a link to the vbios I will try it.
P370EM has no enduro right?
Also what about the P270WM?
