I'm sorry to ask this without reading the thread, but is the 7970M HDMI/DVI output now working on P1x0HM ? As far as I remember it wasn't, but this was while ago...

My score. Seems legit for stock clocks. I wont try to overclock it tho, i like it that way :) Just for the record the temps went up to 72C in that benchmark. While gaming they stayed in mid to high 60's.

jaybee, maybe you should add that the 12.10 WHQL for embedded APU's is identical to the 12.9 Official Beta. Absolutely no difference, apart of the .inf supporting embedded APU's too now.

You sir have WOW running off your integrated GPU. You should be able to set your 7970M to use it somewhere.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I do not have integrated GPU. I have HM series :)

@ Jaybee The utilisation is going up to 50% only, when im benching or using Kombustor its going up to 99% but not when i'm playing WOW. I'm using the 12.8 from amd site and today after i replace my ram will try the drivers that you posted to see if there will be any difference.

P.S. I have the cap installed from amd site too.

yup thats correct, using either 12.9 beta or 12.10 whql is fine, since version-wise theyre identical to one another :)

that utilization thingy in wow is weird, that shouldnt happen... did u make sure ure running all systems in performance mode? no powersavings etc?

@beavy: have u completely removed the gpu driver using driversweeper?maybe reinstalling wow could help as well. do u have that under-utilization issue in benchmarks as well? whats ur 3dmark11 score for example at stock clocks?

that looks to be alright, even tho its a tad on the low side of expectations, but nothing as drastic as the 50% utilization would initially suggest id say.
what do ur temps look like under load btw? do u have the possibility of using an alternative hard drive to check and see if a windows fresh install would possibly help out in your situation?

My windows is brand new on my new ssd. So it cant be it. Temps are staying in mid to low 60's under load, when i was benching they went up to 72C. I guess nothing to worry about them(seems like my 1st paste job was good). I can try to reinstall drivers today too and will make new bench that will post here.

you mention dvi like its a good thing. most tvs dont have dvi only some monitors.

is there a workaround to hooking it up to my tv via a converter or adaptor and if there is will the hdmi work the same?

Dvi to hdmi cables are under $5 shipped on ebay.

You just wouldn't get the audio that you normally get with hdmi.

I was wondering on stock voltage for the 7970m on the 170EM, how stable is 950/1400 on windows 8 pro? Also what are the temps?

950/1400 shouldnt be a problem at stock voltage. my OC at 1045/1485 reaches max temps of 82C after 20min. kombustor using win8 pro. altho im wondering why you ask this question in a HM thread when u have an EM machine? ;)

Oh I'm newbie around here, just checking on the HM and EM. Haven't bought the EM yet.

WOW! What an impressive boost! It does give hope for the Enduro issues. I guess if AMD keeps this up, I'll happily buy the 170EM.

easy workaround for the mem idling: start msi afterburner with the command "-xcl" by using a shortcut, restart ur machine and u will have overdrive enabled in CCC. with that u can manually lock ur clocks at 300/150 core/mem whenever u dont need max powah ;)

btw, heres my 3dmark11 score with the 12.11 drivers @1045/1485: AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2860QM Processor,CLEVO P150HMx score: P7419 3DMarks

    oh yeah baby YEAH! :p ;) :D

Those of you who have exhausted 3dmark 11 with these preview drivers, should test Vantage - seeing even bigger jumps there :)

I know im p370em, but still was almost a 10% jump- would of thought single cards would do as well if not better :)

If this all turns out as good as it is looking at the moment, maybe , just maybe , the 4 month wait for some em users with enduro, will NEARLY be worth it .... early days though, i know.

in vantage im only seeing a 1.4% boost whereas 3dmark11 sports almost 10%. i guess they specifically improved CF performance in this case :)

MSI Afterburner 2.2.1 works with the switch -xcl, but not 2.2.4, I could not get that to work whatever I did, but the older version did the trick. Now I have normal Idle temps, yes!

nope, thats not the case. anandtech or engadget (dont remember which) have checked the image quality between 12.11 and older drivers and the results came up the same :) no cheating this time around!

2.2.4 works as well, you just need to manually add these two files here to the afterburner installation folder:

    P370EM has no enduro right?

    Also what about the P270WM?
