is it loud when you put it on full?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
no it's not bad at all. even if the room is dead silent. my whitebook with 2 fans was way louder then this. but i only have one card, so that means 3 fans. but if 3 fans isn't as aloud the one extra fan would hurt.

dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
yes i do always run it at full speed. i love that option. i leave my laptop on overnight so why make it idle at 50 when i can make it go all the way down to 32-40 depending on the room temp and save the life span of it.
and since it's not loud i don't mind it at all. i haven't brought it to close (i bought when when school was done.) but listen to it now. if the class was dead silent. it wouldn't be a distraction at all. and only people next to me would notice it.
as for the q6600 pinmod. personally me i would just buy the q9650. unless you are really tight on cash. if you want a better explaination lmk. -
sorry i was grumpy
just
get the 9262 its really SLI 260's

i have had 4 notebook so far and the whitebook for me is the loudest. that gpu fan does move air.
i wonder what i had that fan in my clevo if it would make a difference(not in sound. i don't want four of those running at the same time. lol. it will turn heads.) -
dondadah88 i heard you got sli coming your way! congrats! possibly go the same route myself... are you gonna get Q9650 and completely max this baby out? that and the hard drives are the only things keeping me from maxing one out which i will probably eventually do.... the laptop that im looking at has a chip in the corner... ugh o well i guess... anyway i could get that repaired? also scratches on touch pad? shouldnt complain to much but i want my system as good as new... games like crysis and crysis warhead can run on gamer/high but not as well on enthusiast/veryhigh, on 1680x1050 they will probably run better on veryhigh but my question is how would that look on a WUXGA screen? the notebook that i am getting really isnt a sager 9262 its really a d901c, i know they are the same but the logo on the lid says NOTEBOOK instead of SAGER... plus it doesnt say SAGER on the palmrest... xD still gonna call it a Sager NP9262 if you guys dont mind lol... nowhere to buy the sager new except rjtech and avadirect and pc microworks...
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
the logo is just from the reseller. you can just pop it off and put something else there or nothing if you want. so it is still a sager np9262.
i am going to max it out however. and i'm going to get the q9650 when the money's right. as for the hdd they will be maxed out as well.
if you have any questions about the system. pm or post and let me know and i'll try to help you out as best as i can.
you can get almost anypart for the notebook except the bottom shell. if you can do that then you can build it yourself seeing that you can buy the mobo, cpu, gpu, lcd, hinge, top cover, bottom cover, everything separatly brand new. so depending on where the crack is you can replace that no problem. -
Do you see the where the corner there is missing? It also looks kinda scratched up in the other corner... What part would I need to fix it? Any idea where I can get a sager logo to put on the top XD.... I would actually do that if its $2 or under... -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
don't think about it. lol. the gpu's brand new is 750. that's the cheapest price. then 825. and then i found a place that said 1,425.85. for one gpu.. yeah right.
then the motherboard is 480. then the lcd is 200 dollars. then you shtill would have to find the bottom shell which i have yet to see.
as for the logo that can be removed. and something else can be placed there. as for the damage. thats going to be hard to replace and possible not be fixed. however you can use something to cover it with.
me i would get plaster or some kind of materal (i can't think of the name and it's not clay) and form it to it and then use crazy glue and paint for it. it's cheap but it does the job.
when i metioned about building it, it was basically saying that parts are easy to get from this system. almost anything. and since the d900f is still using the same chassis, you can get the parts for a longer peroid of time.(it's been out since jan 07(the d900 series)) -
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
exactly i'm not sure you maybe have to ask gophn but i told you the cheap easy method i would use.
-
i pmed gophn... but i may have a different solution:
Can I get my system to look like that? it looks very nice... they still sell the Blackhawk XR5 its just ridiculously expensive... is that part just called the lcd lid? i wonder if pcmicroworks has a parts inventory? -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i have seen some of there stuff and i would like to know also. but there price is sooooo much.
if i were to buy there notebook and a blackhawk didn't come out, i would return it. -
If i remember correctly the AW m9700 chassis would fit your laptop as it was just a rebrand ... you have to ask Gophn i can never remember all the models...
I think it might of been Gophns laptop that would fit the D900t.... -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i think it's the m7700 is that's a model.
-
-
anyone know where i can buy a pcmicroworks lcd lid? and the part im looking for to fix that kink? also i found this panasonic blueray burner uj-220 for $139 on ebay and they sell that in eurocom's notebook... great price if i want to max out my optical drive... also what hd's are you getting don? ssd's?
-
he is getting 2 HD's and 1 SSD

128GB OCZ Vertex 1TB 2x500GB 7200RPM RAID0

All are very nice options... just randomly chose one and put it in my sig in wishlist... i will be deciding on those soon... -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
ok before you get into that. are you sure you want the sager np9262 and that's your final descision. i see the money your about to drop on it and i just want to make sure your happy with it. and why didn't you choose the asus w90, the alienware m17x, sager np9850. and we know why not the sager np9280.
-
because the graphics cards are still great and the cpu is superior to those notebooks... i just think this laptop gives a great balance between cpu and gpu's and unless i can get a great price on the m980nu which im not currently loving then im going with 9262... its a great price/performance for what price im getting it at anyways... dont take this the wrong way but me personally am not a fan of ati so no w90 and i want the 3rd hd so no m17x and that leaves the np9850 and np9262... besides if i got the 9800m gtx sli its the same as the 260's id get in the m17x... but the m980nu would give me 280's and the ability to upgrade to 300's... oh god this decision never stops getting harder especially when you rethink everything over... i wish there was an easier decision....
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
buy all of them.
but honestly i was in the same situation so i'm just making sure your going to be happy.
also the 9800m gtx is a great card.
also don't metion the ability to upgrade not matter how true it may be. even if the company says so. if you owned a whitebook you'll know what i mean. -
that gives me IDEAS
:GEEK:
yea the 9800m gtx is a great card and an expensive one too... not to mention sli... yea i meant price and performance lol...
EDIT: are you happy with your decision? -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
ok it seems your set and confident in your purchase towards. also the 280m gtx will have a max of about 25%max because of the 16 sp and higher overclock. but you won't notice that in gaming just really benchmarks. and that's both being overclocked, overvolted and maxed out.
also the 300 sound great. really great. but just look now and enjoy the great titles that's out. unless you like waiting then the 400, then waiting, then the 500, then waiting. then later
someone "remember that game prototype?"
you "yeah i heard about it"
someone "you never played it?"
you "no"
someone "why not?"
you "i was waiting for the right laptop"
someone "oh ok i understand, when did you get your laptop?"
you "i'm waiting for it"
someone "why you didn't get it yet?! did you pay for it already?"
you "no it's soppuse to come out in 3 months"
someone "you know it's been 8 years now right" -

dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
is it really 2010. i thought it was 09.

I may have some good news about the M980NU and its keyboard... look at this Eurocom pic...
look at the keyboard... keypad and keyboard look normal... it looks shifted more to the left than the pre-release model and it features a good keypad... at least that is what it looks like...
this image the keypad looks different so this must be pre-production. this could be hopeful news making my decision a bit harder?
EDIT: for some reason the second pic wont show up as big... here's the link to see it full-size:
http://web.eurocom.com/EC/ec_images(204)
EDIT 2: just noticed how the grills in the front look very wierd and different than the pre-production... not so sure i like that... -
The 9262 is an amazing notebook and you'll be sure to enjoy it. The 9800m GTX's are killer gpus still and don't have a problem handling anything.
In all honesty I wouldn't buy a notebook just because it might support the 300 series, which might be really good.
Everyone was all excited waiting for the 200m series, and look how they turned out. The best one (280m) is at most 10% better than the 9800m gtx and the second best card (260m) is the same as the 9800m gtx performance wise.
A q9650 and 2x 9800m GTX's will perform at least as good, if not better than any mobile cpu with 2x 280m's.
More games are going to be coming out that support quad cores and SLI, which makes the 9262 an amazing machine and will get the bost of both worlds. -
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
your gonna wait that long for a notebook. don't forget delays which always happens and you'll hear something better coming out after or just before they are released -
-
it makes me feel weird about not getting the newest technology but im pretty sure this computer will be best for me since the 280's only give performance difference during benchmarks and no noticable gameplay differences and the 300's come out in 2011 (including delay times)... quad sli notebook on my wish list then lol... it could be possible now that nvidia did single pcb 295 they could for example gtx 395m... 2x gtx 360m in one pcb... 2 of them in a notebook and you got quad sli lol... crazy but possible if they make it small enough and not heat up too much...
-
anyone wants to buy a sager np9262 right now can go for this:
http://www.shopl2.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=NP9262
or avadirect... rjtech d901c is gone and you cant purchase from them anymore... -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
you know no one will buy that right?
-
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
it's just the price for it new. if they dropped it 500-1000 dollars then that's a different story. it's crazy.
-
9262 is superior for gaming than the 9280, plus the 9280 has heat issues. There's no way I'd touch that notebook. 9850 with dual 280Ms as a slight graphics edge but I'm curious to see how the mobile processor affects performance.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
well we need runs from the q9650. i have runs from old [email protected]. and i know other peole with difference clocks/scores
-
where are the np9262 benchmarks? do they have a benchmark thread?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
long ago. back back back. way back. and it's mixed in.
-
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
it's mixed in. you would have to search one thread is 9800m gtx benchmarks or 9800m gtx.

Hellcry already reported on his 9280 and it doesn't have any heat issues.
9262 is superior for gaming, but that's where it ends and with the MXM 3.0 spec in the 9280 and Clevo/Sager's decent GPU upgrade system, it is more forward thinking (along with the CPU).
As for comparisons to the 9850 or moreso the APM17X, the Mobile CPU (QX9300) has pretty much caught up to its desktop counterparts. With most QX9300's hitting ~3ghz on average coupled with 280M's in SLI, I give the slight nod to the APM17X and potentially the NP9850.
I thought long and hard about a 9262 before getting a 9280. If I were going to go based on gaming only, I would have went with a APM17X or NP9850 with the better MXM spec. Access to better i7's and the 6-core monster down the pipe (Never mind the fact it comes roaring out of the gate at up to 3.33ghz) plus MXM 3.0 and future GPU upgrades along with decent gaming was what pushed me to the 9280 over the 9262.
In short: I'll take the forward thinking i7 and MXM 3.0 spec over the EOL Core 2 and MXM-III 9800GTX in SLI. -

No one is saying the 9262 isn't a good platform. Heck, even a 9600GT can play modern games with some detail adjustments. The 9262 is definitely a top dog system performance wise for gaming. The 9262 has a long life ahead of it as is, but its viability for future upgrades in regards to GPU and CPU are near the end. Core 2 is on its way out as is the older MXM standard.
We can sit here and play, "guess the next GPU/CPU revision," but we clearly know which platforms are using next generation standards for GPU, CPU or both.
My statement still stands.
From the MXM type to the CPU, the 9280 is more forward thinking, but again, the 9262 is still a beast.Enjoy your system. Like I said, I debated it back and forth between the 9262 and the 9280 (especially with my cost for components they ended up coming about the same price wise) before settling on the 9280 for the very reasons I mentioned.
Core i7 and GTX 280M or QX9300 and GTX 280M?
