Mine was an Atari 800, complete with 48K RAM (learned simple assembler on it, too :D ).

OK well the BIOS Eurocom sent me to fix the downclocking issue didnt work. Im at a loss here, the new sager bios (1.00.08) didnt fix the downclocking either. Im not sure what to do, I guess it will be a while before I can update the video drivers with any success! Anyone else have the m57xx and have no downclocking issues with other than stock drivers??

    that really sux man.

it's seems like clevo is going from pretty wicked notebooks to totally crappy notebooks. in alot of ways.

honestly the best notebook I have ever had in my whole entire life....

    is my xps m1710.

    Light, Powerfull for it's time.

    and looks wicked.
I could carry it anywhere 3 hours battery with 7900gtx, for movies or whatnot... etc..

my d901c sux. I can't carry it anywhere its too heavy and it sux because you have to have something under it like a wooden placemat or a cooler.

and that makes it even harder.

day after day I would like something smaller with power.. I regret my purchase..

Yeah it does suck, becuase I feel like it probably be a while before new drivers that work well will be released, if any at all by clevo/sager/eurocom. I love this notebook all other ways and I dont regret my purchase but I guess I felt this laptop was more user friendly, and mod/overclockable and as the cpu is, but i have no need in doing that really, the gpu wont even take new drivers...oh well I guess the community of m5xxx owners will have to get together and try to fix this issue. Assasins creed is coming out and they are going to release a driver for the game for some dx10 visual aspect, and I would like to be able to use this driver but i probably wont be able to without the downclocking. Hmmm..

damnit I have tried so many drivers today , using 2 different BIOS' . I need to update my drivers, for the glimpse that the new sager bios (.08) did work the 174.74 were amazing, but after a few hours they downclocked and were stuck at 275/300. Is anyone using the new BIOS 1.00.08 BIOS and their cards NOT DC'ng?

    Hi Naticus,
I don't have the downclocking problem anymore with my CLEVO M571RU-U ...
    You need to refresh your
    ..:: 8800 GTX VBIOS ( 2008/1/31 version ) ::..
(VBIOS for 8800M GTX VGA card only)
You can download here directly from CLEVO :
    ftp://ftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/M57xRU/57RU_GTX.zip

You also need motherboard BIOS V 1.00.08
    ftp://sftp.clevo.com.tw/ALLBIOS/M57xRU/57RU_108.zip
Be careful with updating the bios : you need AC power !

    And volià ca marche !

You can also use SETFSB to increase FSB

Well thanx for the help, but the vbios you gave me to update, was the vbios i already had on my computer. I flashed it again and flashed the 1.00.08 sager bios and my drivers still downclock. This is starting to piss me off!

Yeah I emailed my reseller and they said to try the new bios they shipped me,but also that using drivers that arent from the clevo/sager/eurocom website arent wise...But the bios they sent me didnt help the downclocking it was in fact just the 1.00.07 bios. Anyway I havent replied to let them know that it doesnt work, I will do that monday. I just thought that their are people out there that said they used the .08 bios and there drivers were not downclocking, apparently i am the only one that had .08 with downclocking drivers. hmmm.

    hey naticus,

im sorry you are having problems. But i have updated to the .08 bios and it doesnt downclock my card anymore. Vista or Xp, every driver works perfectly.
If you have updated motherboard bios to .08 and still downclocks maybe you need to update your video bios.

    my video bios = 62.92.19.A3
    current driver = 174.84

So from what im reading. It is possible to get a downclock on .08 bios, but this bios also corrects the downclocking issue in some machines. As well as it helps to get an update on the Vbios as that maybe also an issue with downclocking.

With stock drivers 167.44 in my NP5793 my 3dmark was 9.6k. Then i wanted to see if i could push the envelope a little more by updating my drivers so i went and tried 174.74. Full clean uninstalled 167.44 then installed 174.74 and it didnt even want to load at all. No problem checked the Clevo 167.62 drivers loaded then i ran 3dmark 4k 3d score i was kinda shocked. Not a happy camper rolled back to 167.44.

I guess im having the issue as well that my machine wont accept any other nvidia update driver. My Bios is .08 but i think my vbios is dated sometime in 12/07? not quite clear on the numbers will post later. As i am at work and dont have my laptop infront of me to check.

oh yeah im using Vista 64 HP. I have Windows XP SP 2 on standby

not sure, but i guess ill be using stock drivers for awhile. It seems stable and i dont get any downclockin issues at all. I guess ill go update my Vbios if it needs to be if not then ill just go use good ol 167.44 so sad.

thats sucks tbh, im on 174.82 and i can play crysis on high dx9 with 40-30 fps @ 1280 x800, something that was not possible on stock.

i really think its my Vbios thats not making it downclock along with the .08 bios.

ok so my video bios = 62.92.19.00.A3
    Edit808=62.92.23.00.12

now if dexgo posts his and if possible some one poster theirs with the same bios as mine and they dont get a downlock with .08 motherboard bios. then it means the Vbios is to blame for the downclock.

Thats the sane vbios i have! That has to be the reason for our downclocking! We need to get our hands on that .a3 version !

    ok I have tried:

system bio .07 with vbios .14 = downclocking
system bios .08 with vbios .14 = downclocking

It has to be the vbios, as others with the .08 system bios have reported no downclocking, i would also bet they DON'Thave vbios .14 either.... vbios is our culprit! Im getting a hammer..brb

    here is my gpu info:

for some reason when i go to burn the .bin file, it says " error unknown or invalid file format". I downloaded it twice, same thing both times. hmmm...

I tried the other bios' and they all are unkown fil format errors? .bin file is supposed to be like .iso correct? It should just burn using image burning sotware correct?

You are thinking of cue/bin files.

These .bin files are firmware updates, which are totally different. You need a program like nvflash to install them, but you have to it from a clean boot (ie, into DOS). Thus you'll need to have some sort of boot disk, either a cd-rom or usb stick. There are various threads here that explain how do this, in fact I think earlier in this thread included.

you wanna get rid of downclocking?

    easy. bud..

just edit the bios and change all clocks to normal 500/800

and then when it downclocks it goes to 500/800

might be able to open it as a 0601

    and change to 060c

    search for it.

I tried reading up on techpowerup.com, doesnt really give detailed info, the only other thing i can think of is having doxie or someone who has the same vbios as doxie possibly making a back up dump of thier vbios and possibly hosting it somewhere for us to DL flash and pray it works.

Can anyone with the .a3 vbios dump it with nibitor and host it on filfront or the like, several of us need it for the downclocking issue.
