Currently, there are no S1 specials available. The P150HM-S1 / 8150-S1 ended today.

yes "that item does not exist"
-
Available for order already on the m17x as a $600 updgrade
-
So whats diffent from 485m to 580m besides the core clock? is the power consumption the same or lower?
-
ROFL.
That is all. -
I just checked Sager website and the 580M havent showed up yet but the reseller already offering them lol
And the price of 485M still $ 595 ... 1 more reason to order from reseller
-
in there 570m spec change to 192bit 1.5~3gb & core clock 575mhz......seems like msi custom version
-
Since a single GTX 485M can compete with 460M in SLI, I would expect the 580M to do a little better. However, the 580M is only 45 mhz faster than the GTX 485M and I don't know if anything else has been changed. -
Yes, the Sager models are unable to do Optimus since graphics switching is not built into the motherboard.
Still, it's the first time that the top-end video card is able to do Optimus. That is, if manufacturers implement it... it's a shame Clevo didn't!
Looks like the GTX 570M is 192-bit only, it even says so on the nVidia website... -
Guess it's time to open my wallet. <evil grin>
/msg me with your bestest deal. Kidding!
-
They are saying GT780R MSI is selling the 580m with optimus... is this true??? (abd back lit keyboard) can those potentially beat out clevo? -
^
^
MSI GT780R coming with 570M not 580M ... -
Sorry i dont think i would want anything MSI, all my past exp with them on the desktop side of things has been a disaster (GPU's RMA)
-
I just don't get it... I was sure nV would come back with something competitive in price/performance at the top-end. To come up with what looks to be less than a 10% improvement over GTX 485 (for which I can OC well past stock clocks) in 7 months for the same crazy price is absurd, especially considering AMD has a 4-month old near-equal chip for half the price.
-
soooooo.......... does the 580m support the 3D screen in the p170hm/np8170? Or will we have to stick with the 485m?
-
Yes it supports 3D
-
I just got off of the phone with Xotic and they said that it doesn't.
-
its a shame there is no optimus support for clevo with this new high end card capable for optimus... no one wants to wait till next year
-
So is it just clevo and alienware with 580m??
-
Thats what engadget said for now
besides i dont see any other OEM/ODM have laptop that can hold this card -
Huh, that is weird. Even the 560M supports 3D. Are you shure it is Sager that does not have models with 580M and 3D?
-
alright, so then ill just change my sig from 485m to 580m since my gaming clocks are almost identical (or rather slightly higher) than the 580m stock clocks (with significantly higher mem clocks)
seriously, with the 485m 200 bucks off, why would ANYone grab the 580m??? just do a slight oc and voila, u got a free "next-gen" upgrade... just ridiculous!
btw, more info and benchmarks available at notebookcheck: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M
all in all, around 8% performance boost compared to 485m, which is pretty much what im getting with my oc gaming clocks
-
Actually, I spoke a little too soon. We did put up an X7200-S1.
-
Because A, B and C: You can also overclock the 580M
-
I'm not sure. That's definitely possible. I asked if it might be supported in a later update, but he said he really couldn't say for sure. I don't know if all the details are clear yet since it just launched. I'll probably just get the 485M and overclock it a little like others have said. That makes the most sense to me.

Unfortunately it does not.
Only the 485M at this point will support 3D on the Sager NP8170.
Where you just talking to Hutsady? I was up there talking with another rep that sits next to him and heard a similar conversation with him?
-
So why is the 485m and 580m +$100 more for the NP8170 than the NP8150?
-
That doesn`t make sense to me. Why does all the other GTX models support 3D and not their flagship?
This link says:
-
Haha! Yes that was me. I've been agonizing over the configuration of my NP8170 for over a week. You guys have been sooo helpful (and patient).
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Per Sager they specifically list the 485M is the ONLY GPU that supports 3D. I have already sent a email to their engineer last night to get more information on this. Will update once we get more details.
BTW your link is dead above Cloudfire
You can always go to a external 3D Display though.
LOL
Good to hear! Hutsady will take good care of you.

The 580M may very well be available with the 3D 120hz display in the near future...

Here is the link NVIDIA announces GeForce GTX 580M and 570M, availability in the Alienware M18x and MSI GT780R -- Engadget
Even the Nvidia webpage says
GeForce.com - Get the Most Out of Your GPU
And the specs says the same:
http://www.geforce.com/#/Hardware/GPUs/geforce-gtx-580m/specifications -
I wonder if it will be compatible with the existing 3D screen that Xoticpc offers or if it will require a different one.
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Will update you all once we have more details on this. Thanks for your links Cloudfire. It is strange that Sager has specified thus far that ONLY the 485M Supports 3D.
-
Yes the 580m supports 3D just fine, along with every other 5xxm series card from nVIDIA. And yes the 580m will be on the P170HM3 here soon, at least thats what I'm being told, The P170HM3's were sold as a package from the factory, so people just want to flush out their inventory on the 485's before switching over to the 580's.
And the $100 difference is just playing tricks with numbers. Its all the same "price" -
i think you guys reversed the s1 and the regular, and the pricing for your products is different on different part of the website
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
According to Sager at this point to the info they provided they say it does not. Maybe that will change but Sager says this specifically in their update of the 580M. (Which the shell could be the issue here) -
when does it comes on MSI GT780R? the post says thats its already avilable for it , but i can only find 560m of most of the websites :S
-
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
Yes of course the 580m supports 3D. Sager at this time is not using this GPU with the 120hz screen and the 3D integrated emitter.
_ -
how much a single 485m costs?
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Here is a update on 3D we just received from Sager Engineering in relation to the 5xx Series Cards:
-
Ah yes that makes sense. Just a matter of time before the drivers are ready
-
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
^^^^Yes it will come in a timely mannor...
-
For individual purchase, it's probably around $550.
-
So does this mean that I can go ahead and order an NP8170 with the 3D screen option and a 580M? I mean, if it's just an update they need to do to make it compatible.
-
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
Sager has said you cannot order the 3D 120HZ screen with the 580M at this time. Sorry.
_ -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
It is all related to Drivers and unfortunately Sager will not ship a 580M/3D Screen combination at this time.
-
Thanks for the responses. I'll just order it with the 485M then. I won't be missing out on much.
-
Yeah if its only a light OC from NVIDIA then i would say save the $200
-
i think through malibal you can get it though
Gtx 580m
