Currently, there are no S1 specials available. The P150HM-S1 / 8150-S1 ended today.

Since a single GTX 485M can compete with 460M in SLI, I would expect the 580M to do a little better. However, the 580M is only 45 mhz faster than the GTX 485M and I don't know if anything else has been changed.

Yes, the Sager models are unable to do Optimus since graphics switching is not built into the motherboard.
Still, it's the first time that the top-end video card is able to do Optimus. That is, if manufacturers implement it... it's a shame Clevo didn't!

Looks like the GTX 570M is 192-bit only, it even says so on the nVidia website...

I just don't get it... I was sure nV would come back with something competitive in price/performance at the top-end. To come up with what looks to be less than a 10% improvement over GTX 485 (for which I can OC well past stock clocks) in 7 months for the same crazy price is absurd, especially considering AMD has a 4-month old near-equal chip for half the price.

alright, so then ill just change my sig from 485m to 580m since my gaming clocks are almost identical (or rather slightly higher) than the 580m stock clocks (with significantly higher mem clocks) :p

seriously, with the 485m 200 bucks off, why would ANYone grab the 580m??? just do a slight oc and voila, u got a free "next-gen" upgrade... just ridiculous!

btw, more info and benchmarks available at notebookcheck: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M

all in all, around 8% performance boost compared to 485m, which is pretty much what im getting with my oc gaming clocks ;)

I'm not sure. That's definitely possible. I asked if it might be supported in a later update, but he said he really couldn't say for sure. I don't know if all the details are clear yet since it just launched. I'll probably just get the 485M and overclock it a little like others have said. That makes the most sense to me.

Unfortunately it does not. :( Only the 485M at this point will support 3D on the Sager NP8170.

Where you just talking to Hutsady? I was up there talking with another rep that sits next to him and heard a similar conversation with him? :)

Per Sager they specifically list the 485M is the ONLY GPU that supports 3D. I have already sent a email to their engineer last night to get more information on this. Will update once we get more details.

BTW your link is dead above Cloudfire

You can always go to a external 3D Display though.

LOL :) Good to hear! Hutsady will take good care of you.

Yes the 580m supports 3D just fine, along with every other 5xxm series card from nVIDIA. And yes the 580m will be on the P170HM3 here soon, at least thats what I'm being told, The P170HM3's were sold as a package from the factory, so people just want to flush out their inventory on the 485's before switching over to the 580's.

And the $100 difference is just playing tricks with numbers. Its all the same "price"

According to Sager at this point to the info they provided they say it does not. Maybe that will change but Sager says this specifically in their update of the 580M. (Which the shell could be the issue here)
