No clue on the price. I selected the 485M and asked for a HOLD until the 580M.
-
-
Since it's replacing the 485M, and the same thing happened with the 460M and 560M, it's not that big an "if".
-
12:03am Eastern Time and no 580M announcement... Boooooo
-
Well if the $900 price tag mentioned earlier is accurate and the 485m was said to have been priced at $750, then it looks like the price is going up right? But again I'm just making my assumptions based on info posted by others.
-
NDA lift is usually around 9 am pdt.
-
Anxiously waiting....
-
Has there been any word on whether the GTX 580M will be plugged into anything below 17" besides that one fudzilla article's speculation?
-
NP 8150 - is the only capable 15" laptop that could carry 100w gpu, so i think its your only option)
-
Yes, but has any vendor come out as offering that model with a 580M?
Trying to talk myself out of canceling my Clevo P150 order to hold out for the release... -
You may try to talk to your rep and ask to hold for 580m release, don't cancel if its not in the middle of the build.
-
No news of 580m......and its the 22nd
-
Sheesh 22nd just started. It's only 7:30 on the Pacific coast, and 6:30 when you posted.
-
580 where r u baby!
-
hahah..
im est time. I posted at 931 am its now 1042 am eastern and nothing
-
I dont think 580 is coming out today
-
First, it's an announcement. Secondly, even if it were "released" today it will still be a couple months before vendors get them in their grubby little hands, test, and implement into their machines. Sorry to be a dream crusher.
-
Who even "confirmed" the 22nd?
-
The 560m was implemented pretty quickly, I see no reason why the 580m would be much more difficult considering they were both slight upgrades over their predecessors.

This is the 22nd page of the thread on june the 22nd. (sorry, i've been reading the entire thread but have nothing to contribute; thought i'd join in on the fun)
-
loool that is funny
-
I think it´s a little bit strange that no magazines etc. did get some presamples or something to test and review tíl now...
-
Correction, HAD money.
-
Well now you ruined it
As near as I can guess it's the source of this softpedia article. The source links so the site of santec, a tiny site that ships like four different cheap- models which supposedly had the 580M in their configurator, but now they only seem to list various ATI cards and the 550M.
I've also seen a German clevo reseller list the 580M in a 17.6" notebook but they did not list a ship-by date as far as I remember. -

LOL I see what you did there Justin and babyhemi. Thanks

Schedule your clocks for the middle of next week so either late June or 1st of July. It looks like my 6970m option is going to see an upgrade.

See what.....????
-
I wish I had a notebook compatible with the GTX 580M in SLI, then I could negotiate with Clevo for a tester price. Unless some X7200 owner is willing to do that. Tirenz?
-
I guessing it will be middle of next week before we get any official info
Btw Harley your upgrade is Nvidia card or AMD Card ? -
I just wanna see what the new powerhouse will do. And of course, fuel my desires for a P170HM with it there. And the 3D screen. And a 2720QM. And *trails on and goes off dreaming about what could be*
Now if only clevo would make a heatsink and BIOS upgrade for my D900F that I could put in that 580M >_>. -
Guys, I'm very serious. Any of the X7200 owners want to test for us the GTX 580M in SLI? If any, provide your target price. I'll do all my best to convince Clevo to reach it given the fact that it's not yet officially released. But, please only serious offers.
-
What exactly do you mean "target price"? Do we have to pay to test? Or would you pay us to test? Not that I can do it, sadly, but I would like to know for future reference.
-
No, Clevo will not pay for testers, neither they are interested. But I can negotiate a price basing on "we want to buy a sample in order to test this card; but because the card is not yet officially released and we don't know its real performance so we want a discounted price for our first order"
That's what I meant. So the "target price" is what you are ready to pay for a GTX 580M SLI. (if it's not a SLI it'll be really hard to negotiate with them) -
hmm could this be 7xxx? (that is if your talking about an amd upgrade)
-
Exciting, been waiting for this card.
-
I have only one choice to upgrade if I'm going for the top-end GPU and that's going to be the 580m since the 485m is its predecessor. I'm expecting to be gouged by Nvidia for the new card but that might be offset by a processor downgrade from the 2820qm I selected previously.
I'm just going by what my reseller has informed me regarding the status of my order, I'll be making a decision as soon as the cards which hopefully will be within the specified timeframe. I'm not settling for a 560m downgrade since I know I will regret it within 3 years. -
ok if u can my target price is $580 for 580m sli lol......or whats the reserve price?
reference my 485m posts, u can count on me

$580 for the SLI?
When the single card is worth ~$900???
Yeah right.
Mr. Mysterious -
Where'd you get the USD(?)900 price quote for the single 580m card from?
-
Previous post in this thread , but thats with shipping fee .....
-
Source? I must have missed that in the morass of posts. The NDA has not yet lifted so I'm curious as to where the pricing info came from.
-
Its on page 12
Why not try visit mythlogic website ? i believe they already list 580M in their laptop configurations
-
"not yet released"
lol@pricing. Yes 580m is more expensive: +$396.15 vs $395.00. Add that extra $1.15... -

From phketan's post in this thread.
Mr. Mysterious -
I've found the source, I don't know how reliable it is though. Anyway, the dates specified are 4th-6th July so that gives a 1 1/2 week window before everything is made official.
