ok i placed my order in a hurry and already realized i made a couple booboos... i had my preconfig all setup in my mind and then none of the things i thought i was going to pick were actually there lol
what is this 9800 gt and gts business?? why is the gt more expensive than the gts?
also are the P CPUs the new platform or the Ts? -
I just bought mine from Xotic, and to think all that fussing for nothing.
-
alienware are going to have to lower there price to

Yeah I think it's fair to say that the PCMW people got screwed...

@vestibule1443, in desktop field, 9800 GT is actually faster than 9800 GTS I believe.
-
-
-
Should i change my order and upgrade my 320GB @ 5400 to the 320 @ 7200?
-
Based on all current information (Which is to say, not much), the the 9800GT will be the more powerful of the two but until reviews/benchmarks come out we won't know how they compare to the 8800M GTX
-
Problems if the 9800gt is slower, many people waiting to get this for college will be in a dilemma wait for the 9800gtx as it may come later than college day usually around the 15th.

The performance of the 9800M GT is statistically equivalent to the 8800M GTX. The 9800M GTS is a lower performer.
vestibule...Just email me your changes and I will make them for you. -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
It will never be in the NP8660. -
But at least there is some variety in between, instead of just 8600M, jump to 8800M GTX.
Anyways I have an Exam in 7hrs -
What I meant was that people who were waiting for the 5796 were waiting for a stronger system, and if it turns out the 9800gt is slower than the 8800mgtx, then some might want to opt for the stronger 9800m gtx but if the ETA for the 9800m gtx gets changed again that would cause problems.
-
it seems like the 9800m gt will be alot more stronger than the ati 3870 considering the price
-
Do you think they will upgrade the people who did the preorder to the GTX
lol
And once again do you think there is a different between 5400 and 7200 RPM? -
with upgrade fee of $365 for 9800m GTX, i hope it's more than just 15% of performance gain.
-
Would two 512 MB 9800M GTs in SLI be better than a single 1 GB 9800M GTX?
-
the 320 7200 rpm will probably be considerably better than the 320 5400 as 320 5400 was = 200 7200, so 320 7200 higher speed with the higher density = bam
-
i cant wait to receive this beauty of a machine!
-
-
@ Minkang, It will probably also be louder and create more heat =P. But yes, the performance should be noticably better.
-
-
I wish someone would answer the questions about the 8800M GTX vs the 9800s that are offered by xoticpc.
-
Well we don't know that the WD 320 7200 was considerably quiet and cool, but it depends on what Sager uses, always depends on the brand.
-
wow...these are very nice systems.
-
Paladin did (compare video cards)
-
i just sent a ticket for the change to the 7200 and the P9500
Is it worth going up to the P9600?

Paladin is that deduced from looking at specs or actual benchmarks / performance somewhere?
-
armagideontime Notebook Consultant
another question for paladin: how does the 9800gt stack up against the 8800gtx in terms of power consumption and heat?
-
Unless this was just a marketing gimmick to please people even more at release. -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
The performance has been measured with actual benchmarks.
Power consumption and heat will also be statistically equivalent. -
This thread has moved so fast I guess I missed it. -
-
When will we see the 9800M GTX in the 9262?
-
-
-
Actually the core processors might have been correct but the 9xxx series uses something called shader optimization 2.0 or something which increases the effectiveness by 40-50% is what i read.

i'm going to wait for dell to hurry up and revise their xps series to get one
-
Paladin44 and justin do you guys think you can post a picture of gpuz w/ m9800gt
and also cpuz w/ p9500 or t9400
Thx -
Since everyone is here might as well post this.
1. How quiet is the quiet/power saving button. Is it quieter than the current fn+1 low auto / fn + 3 med?
2. Are there still the OC limitations through bios or are all the processors OC'able through bios now.
3. Do you guys expect any delays with the 9800gtx ETA or is it pretty solid? -
What's the difference between T and P processors besides wattage?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
one is for performance the other is battery optimize
which one idk
Intel has moved the Centrino 2 Launch forward to 12:01 AM (midnight) July 15th. Sager's launch will be at that same time
