Limited number of Sager NP2090 WSXGA+ are in the warehouse! Orders placed with Sager through July 13th will ship next week!

Noooo... mine is still on PRE-ORDER Pending Item Arrival, ordered 06/18/2007 (Copied from site). Hope they get around to it later today.

 

Assuming that ordered today, I probably wouldn't receive a WSXGA+ by the 20th, correct?

 

well since their is another shipment coming next week..
there is a possibility..
but i woulnd't say the chances are extremely high..

 

even longer if yo order now you should expect it to ship the 14 if its amd, 16 if its intel, I know some people have experienced delays of 1 month with the 1501...

 

Any estimated dates on Glossy WSXGA+, any news is welcome

 

I took a hard look at the 1520s after the big IFL90 delays. I stayed with the Compal because I expect the build to be better. Current feedback on the Dell leads me to believe I was wise but in all fairness until we get IFL90s shipped its impossible to compare.

 

I think the glossy issue is unchanged, no ETA

 

A week ago my roommate ordered a 1520 and it shipped within 5 days.

 

My order still says Item- Preorder, but I e-mail Justin a bunch of times (sorry) and he told me my lappy was in the building/testing process. However I had to make a quick change from Home Premium to business that I think that delayed them 1-2 days sorry!.

 

I'm not sure if Justin is updating the Sager orders or not, the Xotic order status is mainly meant for in house Xotic orders I would assume. I would trust Justin over the order status.

 

yea mine went from pre-order to shipped with no notice of testing in between because it is the sager model and if im correct that means it is tested at the sager warehouse then shipped.

 

My order is still in the "Pre-Order pending item arrival"

 

I called xoticpc - my laptop is "shipping today". They can't send out tracking information until tomorrow morning because they are not given that information until tonight.

 

congratz, apprarently i have another 5-7 days to wait.......which with shiping will be about 9-10 days I need something.....like pics and videos!! to suppress this anxiety

 

I'll put up pics when I get it. If I don't give up and start playing with my new lappy.

 

Just curious, but has anyone that ordered a NP2090 w/ WXGA (1280x800) *before* July from Powernotebooks or XoticPC still waiting for his laptop? Seems like Sager got only 1, maybe 2 shipments of the WXGAs.

 

this is a reason i ordered from powernotebooks..
its closer to houston..

When I ordered, the person at Xotic (on the phone) told me that the Glossy screens would ship first. This is clearly not true. Has anyone else been told this as well? Has anyone been offered compensation? I would have ordered the WSXGA+ if I was given correct info.

You may be able to switch back to the WSXGA without losing your spot in line. I know the regular shipment is due to have WXGA in them next week, and thats what PNB and Xotic will pull from, and what Sager was supposed to pull from. Sager got these on their own, so there really wasnt any way for Xotic or PNB to know beforehand.

I will have to call. I am afraid I will lose my place in line for the glossy screen and move right to the back of the line for the matte screen.

Also, Justin said "The WXGA will be arriving in the next week." on the 27th. That would be This week. Still true?

 

i think it was posted before that changing your screen doesn't affect your place in line..

I think that's what Donald said. I'm interpreting this as meaning that the priority you are given is based on your initial order date. It does not matter if you change your order later. I initially thought that changing your screen might put you at the back of the queue. The reason for this is that the screen is not something the resellers install or change after they get the machine. They install the RAM, the HD and other peripherals but the screens are installed by Compal. So if the resellers receive 10 WSXGA+ IFL90, they can only ship to 10 customers who have ordered the WSXGA+. But I was wrong, even if you change your screen your date does not change.

But changing your screen is not without effect. What matters in knowing when you're going to get your machine is how many people have ordered the same kind of screen that you did and have an earlier order date than yours. Because even if changing the screen does not change your order date, it changes which machine you are going to receive.

Let's presume the following scenario:

20 people ordered a WXGA and have an earlier date than yours
10 people ordered a WSXGA+ and have an earlier date than yours

If you switch from WSXGA+ to WXGA, you are adding more people in front of you. If you do the reverse you are reducing the number of people in front of you.

Then there's the problem that shipments to the US are still ramping up. So at what rate relative to each other the WXGA and WSXGA+ order are going to be filled is anyone's guess.

Anyway, the best way to know what effect on shipping an order change has is to call your reseller.

Edit: the explanation above assumes that scarcity is not influencing the priorities given to orders.

I ordered WXGA on 6/28 from powernotebooks and still nothing. I'm getting really frustrated because I was told that there would be a shipment in this week but after reading some posts here it doesn't seem likely.

 

well, i wasnt b4 july but pretty close, i emailed them and they said im shipping in arond 5-7 days, so u should be soon. But i wouldnt depend on this, u should email/phone them and ask about it.

 

got my email from XoticPC, my NP2090 is shipped and is enroute! Jumped straight to phase 5 (order shipped). only thing is, UPS ground shipping always takes forever, its arriving next wednesday! can't wait any longer, but might as well.

 

I got my shipping information today too!

It'll arrive at their warehouse tomorrow and then they'll turn around and ship it back to California!

The wait was well worth it.

I did from powernotebooks as well, but then again, I didn't order till july 9th. I'm still waiting for a word on shipping.

Sadly had I not cancelled my order from May 24 it would have only gotten to me 2 or 3 days sooner than it is now, but thats the way this whole pre-order works I guess.

 

Ye of little faith have mercy upon this poor soul who has fallen astray but has returned to the Sager light!

 

I ordered mine June 23 from xotic, it shipped monday, and got here today! I chose the most basic shipping. I couldn't even open it since the guy delivered it 5 minutes before I was walking out the door for work. The wait is killing me.

 

I still haven't gotten any email yet...but that's sorta good, because at the last minute I'm changing my hard drive from the 100GB to the 160GB. Justin said it would probably delay my order a few days, but I figure that waiting 3 or 4 days is better than living with a laptop for 3 or 4 years that has too small of a hard drive.

 

i just want that shipment email!!! its killing me. i ordered mine on the 9th so i figure im a little closer to the bottom of the list... luckily i dont leave til the 14th so i should have my laptop before then. but how many laptops does xoticpc process every day!

 

I ordered mine from xoticpc on July 12th and confirmed on July 13th. The Sales rep said that my system was a close case for this shipment and was unable to tell me whether it was in this shipment or not. However, he did say that they expect all testing for this shipment to be finished by next friday. I'm hoping that by that by this time another shipment will come in and enable continous shipping.

ordered mine on July 11th from XoticPC with a WXGA screen. UPS tracking says it will arrive August 8th. Less than a month I guess, but it was a hard month waiting. I still have to install Windows XP Pro and the drivers but then i'm good to go.

 

im suprised that i have to wait longer because i ordered a WXGA screen... o well congratz to all who got theres.

 

Guess I picked the wrong reseller, ordered a WXGA on July 5th from pnb, and haven't heard a peep.

 

I just called xoticpc asking about the WXGA screen, still no official worth still "expecting a shipment to arrive this or next week".

Donald is really good with replying back to emails, and very fast at that. I would say pnb has one of the greatest services i have received. Ask and you shall be told.

 

i ordered the 5th and still have no confirmation on tracking #. Xotic just told me another 5-7 days 2 days ago, so im hoping ill have it by the 5th.
