i ordered the 4, but payed on the 6th and i HAVE JUST RECIEVED CONFIRMATION EMAIL!?!?! w00t xD...

dang WSXGA, all of a sudden yall dont wait anymore ....i wonder is WSXGA better for gaming, cause i hear contradictory stuff, and decided to stick with the WXGA screen.

 

The gpu will perform better on WXGA since its a lower resolution, but it comes at the cost of a lower resolution. I dont think its better or worse, it just comes down to what resolution people prefer.

hmm, origin of package was Baldwin Park, California. Shipped 7/31 and it's already in Secaucus, New Jersey! I can taste is already, I live in Queens, New York. I can't believe UPS is willing to wait 1 week to ship a distance of less than 10-15 miles! My sister lives in Newport, New Jersey and i'm visiting this Friday, I wonder if I could pick it up at the shipping facility.....

 

Today I ended up canceling my WXGA order with Powernotebooks and switched to an Asus S96S laptop. At this point, I wish I had configured my Sager NP2090 with WSXGA+ instead since I placed my order on 7/12. I probably would have been part of the latest shipment. Alas, I want a new laptop before a business trip the week of 8/12 and don't want to risk not getting the NP2090 by then. I live in So. California, so shipping takes a total 4 days for an order with PNB.

Even if Sager gets a big shipment of WXGAs by end of this week, chances are slim I'd get one of them in time.

 

Yeah, it's unfortunate with all the uncertainty and the delays that came with this laptop ...hope you enjoy the Asus as much as you would the Sager, though!

 

Sad to see another one fall from the Sager ranks... The only way I would is if the Asus F8 were out right now and available

 

My guess (and this is just a guess) is that they are going to tell you that you can't pick it up while it is in transit. Please set me straight if you call UPS and they give you a different answer.

 

I am starting to consider the Asus F8sv or possibly the Asus V2s.

Hey, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I still have until the 18th of August so I can wait another week or two until I will need to switch to the S96S. The only thing that makes me reluctant is the 8600GS...

 

I am really starting to get worried because the ghost shipment of WXGA's and WSXGAS that sager was alleged to receive by the end of this week or start of next week is nowhere to be found if on monday I dont here anything on the sager's I am cancelling and getting the G1.

 

Bah at least you guys are est to get them this month, I got one from a UK retailer and it will be delivered 2nd week of September >_>_>_>_> I start University at the end of the 2nd week. But it's worth it! Awesome system builders and laptops :3

The WSXGA is better for gaming due to the fact that the WXGA doesn't exist (it'll ship this week....no next week...)

That's the last update and the laptop is still scheduled to be here (a suburb of DC in Maryland) tomorrow. I have enough experience with UPS to know that their tracking database is updated irregularly. I've also seen cases where all the major traveling happens during the last night of the trip but I'd rather see the package move!

 

I e-mailed Xotic today and was told that my WSXGA order from the 15th has no ETA because they don't have any idea when the next shipment will arrive. This is getting pretty rediculous...

 

I ordered on the 8th, payment cleared on the 10th. No word on shipment of my WSXGA 2090 from Xotic yet. I called them and was told they cannot confirm that my machine will actually ship this week. I guess that people that run their website and post to this forum are different than the guys answering their phones.

Plus, they are also having a nice little problem with their online ordering system. While it shows I have an order and shows the correct amount, it now says the order has 0 products. It used to show the exact specs of my 2090. I emailed and called them about this, and they seemed less than eager to help. While I'm sure I'll be happy with the 2090 (my 2nd sager), I certainly won't be using Xotic again in the future, and not because of the wait time. I have been left with a bitter taste in my mouth every time I have contacted them.

 

wow thats surprising, they seemed very helpful to everyone else. ANd they have responded to all of my emails within 4-8hrs.

 

I'm the same as you. Ordered on the 8th, payment cleared on the 10th, no word on my order yet past the "pre-order awaiting arrival" stage. My order still shows the exact specs of my 2090 though, that's weird that yours are gone. Anyway, you're not alone with yours not having shipped yet, for sure.

I haven't had much contact with xotic by phone, but Justin has been very helpful on the forums and by email. They seem like a great site to me, though it's apparent you've had a less than amazing experience with them.

 

its more likely that they cant confirm anything until they actually recieve the shipment from the manafacturer.

 

True, if you guys ordered Sagers, they are put together and shipped out from Sager. The only way Justin at Xotic could keep his status pages up to date would be via conference call. Mine went from pre-order to shipped, no in between. I think that the status is meant for in house orders, not the Sager type.

 

lol if it helps because of work I wasn't home when ups delivered so they'll try again but i guarantee i'll be away anyways... so i'll probably just pick it up tomorrow.. .but don't worry guys i'll remember you all...

i just got home and i see this white box with the name sager on it!!!!! time to go and play with my new toy

 

You must be talking to different people at Xotic than I have. I am also waiting for my Sager NP2090 (although I only ordered mine about a week ago). I e-mailed Justin prior to placing my order to try and get an ETA on the shipment. I then asked a few other questions and even on a weekend I recieved prompt responses to all of them. After placing my order I put a question in the box regarding shipping and recieved a call from Amber the very next day to confirm my order and address my shipping question. She said that while an exact date could not be provided as they do not know when the shipment will arrive for the Sager, it was expected to likely be mid to late August.

I haven't recieved my product yet or ran into an issue to see how their customer support handles that, but so far my experience with them has been very positive (I won't go into my cellular service and non-working exercise equipment customer service experiences from this weekend, but the result was the absolute opposite of the great service and prompt responses I recieved from Xotic.

 

Well, looks like people who ordered in July (before the 13th deadline) may be in the clear here, I ordered on the 12th and I just got my shipping email today, shipped yesterday ^^

Now I'm just wishing I didn't get ground shipping......

I ordered on July 12th and recieved shipping confirmation this morning. It is now enroute to Houston. Curse me for being too cheap to pay for good shipping on a $1600 laptop...

 

haha, yeah faster shipping would be great but in reality im in no rush to get it. $30 is expensive enough and i'm satisfied with it. Would have preferred FedEx as the shipper, they are a lot quicker.

That shouldn't be a problem. I'm in California too, (powernotebooks) said that Sager ships from CA to their store, then right away it ships back to CA (so there's no sales tax). He said it only adds about one day to the shipping time.

 

I really regret choosing the WXGA instead of WSXGA+. Oh well.
