Limited number of Sager NP2090 WSXGA+ are in the warehouse! Orders placed with Sager through July 13th will ship next week!

This totally sucks. I ordered a month before most of the people getting their laptops and mine hasn't yet shipped....thats depressing.

 

I chose ground shipping because I'm in Oregon. Ground shipping from Cali to Oregon really doesn't take that long. I should have it Monday or Tuesday.

 

How about this. I ordered a Sager NP2090 June 19th but then decided (around the first week of July) that I'd rather have a Compal IFL90 for the better warranty. Now I get to see all of these reports of people who ordered in July getting NP2090s while I wander best buy longingly staring at the G1S and X205 they have on display.

I keep telling myself that as soon as I jump ship the IFL90 orders are going to start shipping out so I wait one more week... but if no news comes next week I've decided it will be my last. I don't blame the reseller's at all though. Just a sucky situation in general.

 

I ordered on the 8th, payment confirmed on the 10th, but I haven't gotten a shipping confirmation yet. However, I need to call Xotic today because I want to change the harddrive on my order...I hope it's not to late. =\

 

Maybe I should too...it seems to be cheaper over there too.

 

I placed my order in July 14th, yes i know that sucks 1day off the cutoff , and the payment was recieved by the 16th. its now august 3rd, how long do you think id have to wait till i get my sager np2090-v?

 

like i posted in the compal thread, I called xoticpc today was told that they expect th enext shipment of sager to be in 2 weeks ... for both screens.

 

Why wouldn't Sager ship out orders placed earlier first? Seems like a lot of people who ordered before me still haven't gotten no confirmation.

Hopefully they shipped out today and everyone else will be notified about theirs tomorrow.

Yeah this is a good laptop, but there are much better laptops for a few hundred dollars more with far less waiting times. Maybe consider one of those?

ive looked around, i dont want a mac because im a windows person, and i was going to get the asus gaming laptops, but they are from newegg, and newegg has a terrible dead-pixel policy. under newegg's policy, it must have 8 or more dead pixels for an exchange. thats not what im looking for. i am getting the WSXGA+ 1650x1050 and that is a beautiful monitor, so i want it picture-perfect. i just hate this wait time, its really annoying me.

 

hm. how about just ordering the G1s from Xotic or PowerNotebooks then?

 

ive already ordered my sager on july14th, so if i were to cancel and then re-order from xotic, it would be an even longer wait time in my thinking... im certain i will get my sager before september, but how soon till september i dont know. im estimating mid august ill get it, but if anyone else has a better estimate please tell me.

 

well the g1s can probably be shipped maybe in 2-3 days. i mean they should be in stock. probably the only laptop thats really backordered this badly is the sager or the ifl90 force.

 

yea they might be, but i really want my sager. i was very interested in the asus ones at first, but now i only want my sager because ive been waiting so long. has anyone already recieved it and has pictures of it they can show me? im curious as to what it looks like in person.

This is probably the most perfect laptop for me because it has a good gaming capability and has a very good battery life for a reasonable price

I go to college next week...I know how much it sucks not having a laptop ready for college.

 

July 2nd from powernotebooks, i got the powerpro though, not the sager.

I suppose there is still some hope, but it's really frustrating not really knowing anything.

edit: I don't want to settle for a lesser laptop, so I suppose I'll be bringing my crappy desktop if it comes to it.

if it makes anyone feel any better about the college issue, you usually dont need your laptop till the 2nd week.

 

im leaving for college the 15th but im going out of the country so I cant even change the shipping address, ill wait till tuesday and if the ghost shipment has not appeared ill settle for the g1 for 200 more btw...

well the person that signs the package must be over 21 by what Donald and Justin said. This also requires photo id.

Because I ordered from a different reseller---I can't find it on my package tracking, does that mean I (also being only 18) can't sign for it?

 

well from what i know is that sager and pnb and xotic use that policy. resellers usually use this when shipping an expensive item. This has happened when I ordered expensive stuff on the internet other than laptops.

so you should keep a friend over 21 or parents just in case.

 

What I am hearing from many students is that they don’t really need their laptops the day school starts, and would rather wait a while to get what they really want rather than settle for 2nd best just so they can have it right away.

 

That policy seems pretty ridiculous. Can anyone sign for a package? I'm going to have to find some random 21 year old I guess if I have to have it shipped to my college.

I don't absolutely have to have it, but it'd nice not to have to cram my desktop + monitor into my car with all my other stuff for a 500+ mile drive. If it comes to it, I will though, as I'd rather wait and have my first choice.

That might apply to most students, but some of us need to have our computers setup and ready by the time school starts. I'm going into my 3rd year of a Computer Science degree, if I don't have my development environment(s) setup before school starts I will be at a disadvantage.

Not that there's much you can do to speed things up unfortunately

I've never once had any UPS/Fedex person as for ID, and I've ordered more expensive things online from various places. Sounds silly to me /shrug

Well, you're required to have your own computer, but I don't know how much that matters. It's mostly that I want my all my music, movies, games, and internet in my room.

Really? I survived my freshman year without a notebook. I'm sure you could squeeze by for a week or two. Couldn't you just bring your games/music and chill out with your roommate and newfound friends for the first few weeks?

 

My fathers card was charged on the 1st and today is the 4th. Shouldn't it be shipping by now?

 

If you mean 1st and 4th of August, then no. People have been waiting since June/July. I personally have been waiting since July 16, and there are many, many people who ordered before me and who have not received theirs yet.

 

Your CC will be charged for the pre-order but the laptop won't ship until it is in hand, tested, and yadda yadda yadda.

 

At least my card was charged the same day the unit got shipped, and I had a 5 weeks waiting time...I don't think they actually charge you before shipping date, it shouldn't be right.
