Mine is still in Nebraska getting tested. At least I think thats where its getting tested.

This thread has kinda died...

No no, thats not what I meant. I ordered july 8th, got my confirmation on the 10th. But since its credit card, they don't charge until they have my items. So i was wondering since they charged my fathers card 5 days ago, shouldn't it almost be shipping?
-
Nope - They charged my card on July 9th when I ordered and they just shipped it last thursday...
-
i ordered on the 14th and it got charged on the 16th and its nowhere to be tracked, idunno if im gonna be getting it anytime soon..
-
Well, i know powernotebooks shipped out about 100 of the laptops from what donald posted somewhere else...
-
anyone know when the next shipment of WSXGA+ are being sent out?
-
Tim -
oh wow this sucks really bad
-
-
I think this has just been an odd time with all the delays because of the plastic manufacturers and the line in which these were supposed to be built... Basically all of us were unlucky. Can't blame the resellers or even compal because they said that the plastics manufactuer screwed up...so is it their problem?
-
I don't blame the resellers. I *do*, however, blame Compal.
Someone screwed up royally here, and isn't passing any news down the line. Whether they just want to keep their current orders, or just because they forgot/didn't care, it's still unacceptable. -
I have a feeling that there are going to be a lot of cancellations in the near future. There are people who have been waiting a long time and there seems to be a lot of frustration.
-
when mine came friday the ups guy didnt even ask me to sign. They called the night before tho and warned me about it. But then agan i am familiar with my delivery guy. He gives my dog treats.
-
EDIT: upon more searching, I have decided to cancel my order. Nearly a month after my order, prices on competing products have dropped. I'm leaning toward the Asus S96S right now but still searching... -
ShadowoftheSun Notebook Consultant
Has anyone who has ordered after July 13th received a NP2090 of any resolution? I am personally wondering about anybody who received shipping notice on a WXGA screened NP2090. If I don't get a notice on Monday, I'll email PNB and see if there's a more concrete shipping date. I'd really prefer not to have to switch notebooks, but I've been giving the Dell 1520's a serious consideration for the first time since I placed my order, despite the fact that I (personally) think they are unattractive. I also don't want to continue my experiences dealing with Dell if it can be avoided.
-
I waited 9 weeks for mine and thought about the Dell too. I've had such bad luck dealing with the support on Dell's consumer side that I couldn't make the switch. If you're considering Dell, I'd look at the latitudes, but you're compromising on the GPU, but they're well made machines. I'd also look at the Vostro over the Inspirons. They may be supported by the business side of things.
But you'll like the Compal if you can hold out for it. -
What was bad about your Dell experiences? I'm getting a laptop for the 1st time, was always a desktop DIYer in the past.
I'm also considering the Inspiron now. Similar prices with an OS and a choice of colors. -
any update on the sager shipment of Wxga's?
-
Okay I just called Xoticpc they told me the WXGA's from sager ship out till next week, even though they have them in friday, I just called sager(BTW you cant get one person there who speaks adequate english) and they just told me that they ship this week, someone who ordered from powernotebook's call them to get the info str8...
-
-
Up through which date will Xotic be shipping next week?
-
I also called and was told they would ship early next week. They should be in this week.
-
-
-
-
I called PNB
-
Damn if there in LA i might as well drive oer there and pick my notebook up.
-
-
So my UPS man came by today dropping off something other than the laptop, and we asked about being 21 to pick up the laptop- he said it was cool and that I could just go ahead and sign anyway for it tomorrow... tomorrow will be glorious
-
Received mine today!! OMG, this is a sweet machine!!
-
Lucky man, the ups guy came again today but again I had no one home 21 or older, so I'm forced to wait another day.
-
you have to have someone home 21 years or older...why?
-
Xotic and PNB's shipping policy goes somewhere along the lines of you have to be 21 in order to sign for the package. someone clarify this more lol
-
The item is so expensive that they choose the highest UPS policy or something like that which requires a 21 sig.
-
Oh the happiest day of my life as i got a phone call from Xotic telling me that my laptop will be shipped by the end of the week WITH the WSXGA+ because they failed to change my order from before. Oh Happy Days!!!
-
Congratulations hondatrixter - you'll really like it!
-
* Adult Signature Required: UPS will obtain the adult recipient's signature and provide you with a printed copy. Adult recipients must be at least 21. You may also view the adult recipient's signature online.
Usually placed on orders that cost alot or require more security than others. Sager, PNB, and XoticPC use these policies from what i know. -
wonder if im 19 and mine is getting shipped to a p.o. box and i have to go to the post office to pick it up...still gotta be 21?
-
so we can die for our country but we cant sign for a laptop we paid for ourselves. USA USA!
-
-
I'm only 18 and i'm having mine shipped to my dorm. My parents won't be their to sign it. How will it work for me?
-
Someone in your complex (the manager or what have you) signs for packages and you receive a note in your mailbox saying "dude, you got a package!" and then you go to the manager/front desk and give them the slip and you get your package. All of the dorms on my old campus required you to get in to the building with your ID or a security code (all electronic) so there was no way for packages to be delivered directly to your dorm room.
This was at Western Washington University 2+ years ago. -
thats actually a good system but i would like to have to option to have my stuff shipped directly to me sometimes.
-
My dorms were the same, they had the housing office place where you could rent stuff like vacuums and ask questions. They also handled the packages by signing for them and placing a slip in your mailbox that notifies you of the package. You then go inside and give them the slip and show them your ID and sign for it.
-
Thats exactly how my dorms were. We had a PO mailbox where we would receive all our mail. If we received packages, we would be notified about them to come and pick them up.
-
could anyone go 3 weeks weeks in college w/o having a personal computer
-
negative here not with an english class
-
I'm going to have $20 waiting for my delivery man at the door if he decides that he won't let me sign for my package.
Limited number of Sager NP2090 WSXGA+ are in the warehouse! Orders placed with Sager through July 13th will ship next week!
