    Hey, well no need to PM anyway - as it happens I just got notification that my P170HM has shipped :)

    Only two days later than the originally quoted "5-7 business days" which seems quite reasonable given it sounds like they were snowed under with orders.

    Now I just have to hope that UPS don't screw up and that there are no delays with customs...

    seriously? blast your eyes!i ordered on 11/25, processed same day. Estimated ship date tat the time was 12/1.

    called 12/5 wondering what the heck was up, and expressing concern it wouldnt make it to me BY 12/20 when im scheduled to leave at 3AM on holidays.

    got told it'd absolutely reach me in time, but they'd upgrade to 2day shipping for free (very nice, +10).

    Well thank god they did, still hasnt shipped, and UPS ground most certainly wouldnt have gotten here on time. Called again on monday 12/12 for an update and was told the p170 shipment just got in, and my order would ship in a day or two.

    Well two days later, close to the end of the biz day, and now im concerned that 2-day wont even leave me time to unbox the thing and check for damages before i leave! If it shipped today, it MIGHT get here Saturday. Otherwise it'll get here Monday. I cant bear to think beyond that.

    So others can judge their builds in relation heres what i got :

    My P170HM shipped out yesterday and should be here on Friday! I was starting to get a little nervous that it wouldn't make it here in time for the Holidays, but I'll have the weekend to install S/W, etc, so it's perfect timing. :)

    FYI, I got a very detailed response when I went to the MALIBAL website and used Live Chat. They answered all my questions and it was an easy way to get a quick up to date status. I'd highly recommend using this feature if you want to get your order status. Of course, you can PM MALIBAL here on the forums as well, which I also did and got a good response as well. I just like the instant gratification of Live Chat! :D

    New member here but have been reading on these forums for quite a while now. My laptop has been delayed too. I ordered mine on 11/26/11 and processed on 11/28/11. It was supposed to ship out on 12/0711 but got an email instead on the same day that my order was delayed and should ship this week. However, up to this date it hasn't shipped out yet.

    I called Malibal yesterday and was able to talk to Matt who was very apologetic for the delay. He said that my new Satori P170HM should ship either today or Monday, 12/19/11 and I should receive it before Christmas. I think they are expediting all delayed shipments now so that customers will receive them before Christmas.

    This would be my first ever gaming laptop and I hope that I made the right decision to order from Malibal. I did a lot of research before I decided on Malibal. I was considering XoticPC which had a good deal around Black Friday but I think Malibal had the better package although they were a few days behind to offer their deals. I think Malibal was overwhelmed by a rush of Black Friday and Cyber Monday orders and Matt explained to me that they are having difficulty getting the spare parts from China in time due to Christmas rush which he attributed to the delays in releasing their orders from US Customs. I thought it was because of the flooding in Thailand that affected their inventory to be too low because I know that some suppliers have that problem.

    BTW, I almost forgot to mention but Matt mentioned that the day I bought my laptop 11/26/11 was a record-breaker for them in terms of highest number of orders on a single day. I didn't ask the figure but I think most of you guys were correct thinking that Malibal didn't expect this kind of volume on their orders - and add Christmas rush to that, and there you have the explanation for the delayed shipments.

    I was impressed by the level of service Matt gave me. I felt that he gave enough time to explain the situation, assuring me that I will get my laptop before Christmas and sharing me Malibal's vision of the future. Way to go Matt!

    I look forward to receiving my spanking new Satori P170HM next week and I'm hoping to be delighted. I will share with you guys my first impression.

    I wonder at the logic of a black Friday purchase. For the "savings" you get a loaded and rushed production queue - a shipping window that pushes into x-mas shipping volumes. You get unknowns like QC and questions about how the stress on the system will influence the process - you get the anxiety of delays and worries over all the above.... for what an extra 5% 10%? -- 100 or 200 dollars? What's the appeal?

    UPDATE: We have received the P150HM and P180HM shipments, and plan to work over the weekend to catch up on the orders from Black Friday-Cyber Monday - so if you placed your order between Nov. 25th-28th and it still hasn't shipped - we expect to ship your order on Monday / Tuesday of next week.

    We will also be upgrading shipping (at no charge) on some orders, so that they arrive before Christmas. :)

    What about orders placed before the 25th-28th, I'm assuming they will also be shipped Monday/Tuesday??? Fingers crossed the 21st will be a month since my order was processed. :eek2:

    My lappy is 1 hour away in a warehouse. Its gonna sit there all weekend since UPS ground doesn't ship on the weekend. I'm gonna be spazzing all weekend

    Great to hear that. Actually, I just got an email from Malibal tonight and it says that my laptop is currently on production and will go through a thorough burn in test over the weekend and is scheduled to ship out on Monday, 12/19/11.

    Malibal is planning to offer FREE upgraded shipping if it is required so that outstanding orders that have been delayed on shipments coming in from China so that they arrive before Christmas. They will will email me the tracking number once my laptop ships out.

    My fancy UPS Worldwide Expedited tracking still says they received an order, but not the product. Hopefully just UPS tracking being many hours slow, and not that an entire day has been wasted. No upgraded shipping for me, I paid for the fastest that was available....and so far it isn't blowing wind up my skirt!

    the nervousness came and went for me. i can only suggest you stay 100% on top of your own order.
    i had to do so for mine and didnt do a good enough job...or am just THE unluckiest person on the planet.

    let me preface saying im quite understanding of their situation with delays, and the phone support was excellent.

    Ordered 11/25, p170 satori.

    First i requested via phone on 12/5 expedited shipping for it to arrive on/before 12/19 so i could unbox it myself and load my biz needs before my trip. During the call asked multiple times asking if there was anything i could do (upgrade shipping, pay for rush processing anything at all) to ensure the delivry, was reassured that it would go out on time upgrading shipping if need be.

    on 12/14 I sent an emailing stating i was very nervous it wasnt going to arrive, reiterating my 12/19 deadline, and got the reply they'd try to get it out that day for delivery by the 19th.

    On 12/16 requested an update, and got the response it wouldnt make it. So no laptop for the first part of my trip :/ . Anyways a new 12/21 delivery date was requested for my neighbor to pick up, unbox, load with my stuff and ship to me before he leaves for his own trip the very next day. Again i said i would be happy pay for rush processing/shipping/whatever, even asked to make sure my parts were in stock (horrible surprise there was a part out and they hadnt notified me, bigfoot 1102. i said do an upgrade or downgrade i dun care all that much).
    I came away from the conversation believing it was definitely going out Monday or Tuesday (12/19 or 12/20), notifying me if it didnt happen monday.

    So 12/19 comes, and i get on live chat. From the best of my memory it goes like this:

    Me - "Hi. My laptop is scheduled to ship today, can i get an update? Name/Order#"
    Malibal - "Yes it should be going out today"
    Me - "2-day shipping, estimated delivery for Wednesday?"
    Malibal - "yep"
    Me - "sweeeet deal. thanks for your time and have a superb day."


    12/20 (very) Early in the day - I leave for my trip feeling assured of my plans, it's coming wednesday, neighbors gonna do his thing and ship it out before he in turn leaves the next day. No time to check email, off i go!
    12/20 Later in the day - Ive reached my destination, but no email with tracking. Bummer. Hopefully they're just swamped and havent manually sent my email. Get on livechat again :

    Me - "Hi my shipment was supposed to go out yesterday but no email with tracking. Update please? Name/Order#"

    I dont rightly remember the response, but it both shocked and angered me. I remember being told somewhere in the conversation i was never really promised it'd go out monday. (makes me think of the poster above me, i hope he not counting on it actually going out tuesday and making biz arrangements simply over being "told" something to have them say it wasnt "promised"). Anyways (sorry im still quite dissapointed right now) I recounted some facts, told em check their logs, and said nevermind i'll call Matt ( think that was his name ) as he knows my order and wont let this stand.

    I vented with Matt, he vented a tiny bit with me which was cool (i understand the frustrations of both phone service and a small biz being snowed under by orders), and so as to have no confusion and not get my hopes up he says it's almost certainly not going out today so even overnight shipping wouldnt help.
    Now my laptop will ship....well i dont care any more when as long as it gets to my finaly destination on/by Jan 1st. Which seeing how hard Matt said theyre working to get orders out for xmas should be easily accomplished.

    In summation,

    Malibal - Great Company, Better Than Average Service So Far, Truly Expecting A Superb Product When It Does Arrive

    In my case could have been more proactive notifying of the status of my order instead of my pestering them 3-4 times a week.
    Unfortunately made a few statements about shipping dates that I maybe took too literally, or were too hopeful in their outlook and I got rather screwed up by it.

    Take it how you will, this has been my experience so far. Overall quite good despite what it seems...The only regret i have at the moment is that it's not in my hands NAO lol. Sorry for the Long Rambling style, I'm beyond tired and typing quickly before internet is gone from the next few days apparently of my life.

    It is completely understandable to feel pain for such delay, I can relate to that.

    I am bit lucky that the laptop reached today (just 1 day before traveling), although I lost $90 in shipping upgrades which is really upsetting me, but I appreciate MALIBAL's effort to deliver my laptop 1 day before the deadline.

    I believe you might get it shipped by today, I know MALIBAL is working hard to clear their BlackFriday orders' queue.

    It seems to have affected their ticket responses too. Their responses just get slower and slower. My last email on a ticket was on 12/4 with no response since. Definitely not the level of service I thought I was getting when I purchased from MALIBAL in large part because of their fast responses to questions.

    Last response from Malibal 12/3/2011 5:08 PM asking if the top was flush and asking for a picture. Response from me 12/4/2011 4:14 PM with picture. That's according to not only my email but your ticket system. Ticket still listed as open.

    It is normal that the response speed get affected with such peak demand unless they increase number of employees to maintain the same level of service which is not practical for most businesses (which is a valid decision IMO).

    Still I would say they respond quickly most of the time, but mistakes happen.

    Got my P170HM today too. It was shipped Monday from NY - took less than 3 days on upgraded UPS 3-Day Select. I'm updating drivers and downloading benchmarking tools. So far so good. No dead pixels and everything seems to be working perfectly, although the touch pad buttons are a bit hard to press for me. :)

    I just received mine today too. This is my first post on the forum with the new machine. :)

    I had a brief scare with nothing showing up on the display though the backlight was on. Then I noticed it briefly flickered to life at certain lid angles, indicating a possible cable issue. I called Malibal up for help on accessing the display and they gave me all the directions I needed. I was able to remove the display and give the cable in question a little room for flexing. Lo and behold, everything came to life and was working after that episode. Amazingly, the process also got rid of a stuck pixel that I had noticed when the backlight came on too. :)

    I repasted my CPU and GPU heatsinks. I popped in my SSD and put the HDD into the optical caddy. I just finished installing some basic software and drivers. And plenty more set-up to do before I get to gaming on it at a later date. :D

    Congrats guys, There's a thread called what to do after unboxing, it will be great if everyone shared detailed steps about the machine preparation process e.g. updating drivers, benchmark tools, screen check for dead/stuck pixel etc. it will be great resource for others. I am planning to send a post on that thread tomorrow or so.

    I got doortagged by UPS yesterday afternoon and picked it up at their facility at 8:30pm last night. If you get doortagged, call UPS and try to make arrangements immediately.

    Incidentally, this was the same routine that I followed with the Dell in my signature. Almost parked in the same parking space I did six years ago.
