You can change the resolution but the image quality will be worse compared to native.

Oh yeah... forgot about that. Hmm, I guess it wouldn't be that bad to increase the DPI, as long as the screen wouldn't cost too much more...

*goes to play around with different configurations*

Edit: Hmm, if I take my hard drive back to 160GB, then I can get the WUXGA for $50 more. Plus, I was wanting a glossy screen... Hmm...

Edit 2: and actually, if I still get $50 back from the lack of fingerprint reader, then I can get WUXGA for free. I think I just might do that...

Hey Jarrettdad I got 3GB RAM also. Just got done talking with an xotic rep and they said 2gb modules arrived and so any orders from 1gb to 3gb are now ready to be assembled. Unfortunately for the 4gb ppl, not a single 4gb module has shipped out from Sager yet

Thanks for the update Gej. I wonder if they are filling 3GB first because they can fill more individual orders that way? 4GB of RAM could build 2 3GB machines if they have enough 1GB MEM?

All 2GB orders will be filled in the order they were received. :) There are limited 2GB modules and the next shipment of them will be in next week. =)

You are right, I called Justin and he confirmed that the 2GB shortage will effect everyone going with them including 3GB.

Once again, Justin I'm sorry for being a huge pain in the butt.

Too bad. I would have been getting a great price on a 4 GiB dimm. Could have sold it to recoup 1/3 of the cost of the notebook ;)

It's the 2GB Modules they are short on. That's why it's effecting people that ordered 1 2GB Module and 3-4 GB.

yukonbob_34, I apologize you didnt get a update regarding this. The machine just started shipping last Friday, there was a 3 Day delay before the 2GB modules arrived.

((EDIT: Revising your order does not affect your position in line :D))

I second this. To everyone that is waiting on their orders, please keep personally identifiable information off the forums for your own safety.

Despite the fact that there are some delays with the orders, I do think the wait will be worth it so hang in there ladies and gentlemen. :)

Quick question then to Justin: If I were to order tommorow with 4 gigs of RAM and the WSXGA Glossy, do you think I would receive my computer by August 19?

    Thanks

I'm posting from mine right now. So far, it runs games wonderfully. Its a bit too warm to place it right on my lap, and the video card fan constantly goes on and off even if its idle.

One question: where can I read how to use the built in microphone? I must be missing it.

The microphone is the bottom right of the keyboard... on the edge of the right palm rest nearest to you.

Do not use it on your lap without a hard flat surface or notebook cooler.... or you will be blocking the air vents to cause overheating.

And a couple of things for you to know (if you havent seen it yet):

lemme give you my pre-requisites for owning a high-end notebook:

Remember these things to have your notebook be healthy for years:

    1) Battery: to maintain the longevity of any rechargeable battery
    - you must NEVER overcharge it [especially for long durations of time] by keeping it plugged into AC
    - when it reaches 100% you should unplug it and let it discharge to 5-15%, then plug it back to power
    - OR you can just charge it to 50%+ and remove the battery and store in cool place [remember to use it occasionally to charge and discharge it].

2.) Heat: to prevent a healthy notebook from overheating
    - ALWAYS use the notebook on a hard & flat surface
    - RECOMMENDED to be used on a notebook cooler... namely the Zalman ZM-NC1000
    - (for Clevo's) ALWAYS use the Fan Speed Toggle (Fn+1 for the new models) to switch all fans in the notebook to Max Speed (defaults at Auto Speed) when gaming and such.
    - check your fans underneath occasionally (at least once a month) for any dust clogs [clean them out with Q-tips and air cans/compressors]
    - ALWAYS monitor the temps (CPU, GPU, HDD, etc..) to watch for fluctuations, which would indicate overheating

By doing these simple things, your entire system will easily last for more than 3 years.
    ______________
Also can you check the Fan Toggle for that model notebook.
    - press Fn+1 to see if all of the fans switch to Max Speed and then to Auto... I know the D900C has it.

And it would be awesome if you can give us a review of it (you will get paid). :)

Make sure that the Nvidia Control Panel, in the Powermizer, has the the setting to Max Performance.

And make sure you are playing with AC power connected.

I was playing this last night as well. It was actually a lot more choppy than I had imagined, especially considering I was running it on an old 9800gt before and it was about the same way. Not sure if it's vista or the fact that I haven't tweaked every little setting yet, but I didn't think I'd have to with this new rig.

If you figure it out, please post your solution here so I can try and apply it myself :)
