I believe for xoticpc it's april 5
-
wow, that's actually a lot earlier than i expected
-
That these were just like a holding spot so you could pre order basically . There was indeed a persay np8150, but not a np8151. It just makes sure your in line for when they due release due to defered shipping and the 50 dollars off. -
Oh , it'll ship out between May 20th and June 30th?! or is that just turkey and the US will be out much earlier?
-
Check origin pc out. There eon-x already has the pre order for the 675m dual and single, there site mentions dual 680m graphics. Shipping is around 30 april for their sure I believe. Price is 491 additional for an extra 675m card and an additional 300w power supply.

Xoticpc and Powernotebooks already have that option for their NP9270, but they're only charging $450 for an extra 675M + ac adapter + converter box.
-
Originpc is freaking expensive.
-
^^^^ Well, this is including the power converter box and another AC adapter, which cost like $195 on sagernotebook.com... First post.
-
Xotic has been taking pre-orders for the new line for a few weeks now. However, they can't give all the details on what you're actually getting until April 5th (the supposed lift date of the NDA). If you pre-order you are reserving your spot in line as well as getting a small discount.
-
If xoticpc charges 150-195 for the power supply and converter box will that mean the 475m will run around $300 and upgrade from 660m would be around $150 to $200. Does that sound about right?
Can't wait to see the OC potential for these cards. -
That would be right, except this is the 675m, not the 475m
EDIT: wait, where did you hear that the 660m is going for $100? The 560m is ~$225... Or are we expecting 65% price cuts across the board now? -

Price to upgrade to 2x 675M and extra AC Adapter and Power converter box is $450. The AC Adapter and power convertor box bought by itself is $195. 450 - 195 = $255. Not saying thats what they will cost since we haven't seen those numbers yet, but that would be a great upgrade price.
-
If I pre-order now I need to know which Video Card options I can have on the NP8131. If it's at least a GTX 660m, I am sold. This is through xoticpc. Also I can't find a different between the NP8151 and the NP8131.
-
afaik: NP8131 --> no backlit keyboard, no rubberized finish, 120W PSU, no XM CPU, GPU up to 660M and not XTU enabled (altho its not sure yet that NP8151 will have that enabled either, but it is definitely capable of that@HM77 chipset.
cheers -

At this time the video card options we can post are posted. If things change it will be once the NDA is scheduled to lift on April 5th, but the deferred shipping discount goes away then too. If you pre order now and arent happy with the GPU options you are in no way obligated to continue with the order. -
And like I said, the 560m used to be $225
Looks like I overshot with my budget for this. Time to go hunting for more accessories
-
Wait, isn't the P151EM the one to have 660M while the P150EM has 670M/675M in it?
I'm just disappointed that the P151EM doesn't have the backlit keyboard Q.Q -
^^^^Yes it is. But I'm sure you could put the 660m in a P150EM if you wanted to. And yes, that keyboard is part of why I've waited soooooooo long for the P150EM (RAID support is cool, too). Even though I just joined, I've been watching and waiting the P150HM from November, and I was so bored I read the whole owner's lounge for both the P150HM and the P151HM1. It was quite a read.
-
The latest (March 2012) spec sheets show P150/170EM models getting 360Min battery life..
-
The only thing that makes me grr a little is the P150 having the backlit keyboard. If P151 has the same shape/style keyboard, just with the backlighting removed I may bite since I'd rather have the 120W PSU instead of 180W PSU (just for the portability purpose) and I only plan to get a GTX 660M GPU. The cost difference is $200 and to me that is a lot.
If when all the hardware is out that I want, If I'm able to get the P150EM with a GTX 660M and 120W PSU I'd be pretty happy. -
Order the P150 and request the 120W PSU. I'm sure someone can make something that simple happen for you.
-
First batch of P150/170EM models start shipping from Clevo next week.. Sounds like the early-mid April ship date some of the resellers are expecting is pretty realistic.
If only we knew where IB was at -
Where did you hear this? I'm just going to ditch my What notebook should I buy? topic if this is the case. I can survive until Mid-April without a notebook.
-
I won't out and out confirm that... But ...
*wonders off* -
The backlit keyboard of P150EM seems delicious but the the lack of right-click key has held me back for a while (I use this key really often), is it possible to remap a laptop keyboard?
-
Do you think there's could be a mod in the future to replace the keyboard with a backlit one? Is there any such mod for that current model?
Sent from my HTC Vivid -
Doesn't work because there's no power source for the lighting. Also, I think the backlit KB is too thick to fit in a P150HM.
-
Anthony@MALIBAL Company Representative
That's correct. The keyboard is physically taller, so it can't be retrofit into the old chassis as the internals don't leave any room for it. -
Interesting... thanks for the responses guys. I must be thinking about something I heard about Asus then. I recall hearing about replacing with a backlit keyboard and using the wifi switch to control the on/off function for the lighting.
-
^^^^But I thought the G series already have backlit keyboards
-
So wait will there be a version of the P150EM with SB and the 600 series gpus?
-
It wasn't the G Series. One of the other ones, possibly the N series. I don't recall for sure though. I just remember it was in regards to an Asus.
-
Yep, it's true
-
I can't quite see the resemblance towards the P150EM ...
Anyways, I would imagine April is the month where the P150EM sees daylight! -
Because if 675m SLI costs $297 more than single 675m, cost of 675m ~= $297. Mythlogic's prices tend to reflect the list prices for parts a lot better than sager's (anybody seen the 2760QM?) and they previously had 560m SLI listed as $255 more than 560m on the P270WM. So, this helps give us a better idea of the pricing on all the models, because the price of the best launch GPU is about the same as the stock GPU from last gen. If Ivy is cheaper than sandy, some sellers like xotic will probably carry P150EM base model at $1000. Oh by the way, 6990m price rose $100
that's on the P150HM.
-
check this out.. Mythlogic's config page for the 150EM. 670M stock, $495 upgrade to the 675M
MYTHLOGIC :: Configure Your System
edit: Now I see what you guys are talking about. wonder why it's only $88 to go from the 670 to the 675 for the P270..? MYTHLOGIC :: Configure Your System
edit2: he moved it to make me look foolish >_> -
Lol, That config isn't even done yet, and now I have to move it so ya'll can't find the dang thing. I would pay less than 0 attention to that pricing, I can tell you for sure that isn't correct and does not reflect any real pricing.
-
Oh, nice lol. didn't mean to spoil your plan
-
If it actually says 475m, it's definitely not correct
But, Mythlogic, I thought a while back you said all the resellers had finished their new config pages and had just stashed them away somewhere offline so you could just swap them with the old ones when the time came.
-
Most of my hopes just got shattered... I was hoping for a cheap upgrade option.
-
Semi accuracy for most part? Don't get your hopes too low yet!
For some motivation -
oops, my bad lol. corrected in mine.
I tried for a while to figure out where he moved the page to so I could at least watch it evolve but I've given up.. for now.. -
The only part I care about is the release date :x was waiting so hard for Kepler, now I have to wait again for the P150EM. grrrrr
-
Yes, that is correct, what was up was an old development config-set. The +475 was the old pricejump of a 580m over the base card. I never said we didn't have the real deal pricing etc
-
How did your hopes get shattered? Are you so anxious that you interpreted Myth to mean that the 675m will be more than $500 more than the 560m? When Myth said that wasn't complete, I'm sure he was just talking about the P150HM as the P270WM is still there, cheap 675m's and all. Or are you referring to the 6990m?
The reason I mentioned that Myth's prices are closer to the real market is for reference, because it helps put the 675m into better perspective. I certainly haven't seen any official price from Nvidia (If one's released, it hasn't made it to the 700m/600m clevo thread yet), I figured this is the most accurate. -
LOL for that one!
-
I'm trying to return my P151hm within it's 30 day return policy; It's had a defective speaker that is popping up above the rest of the chassis. It's been like that since I got it. I don't think we are supposed to talk bad about suppliers here so I won't list them but it isn't Malibal or the others in this thread at all so no worries
.
If I can get this returned I will have 1,300 to spend on the P170em or maybe the 15.6" version. I would really like to return it because of the vast improvement in battery life with the GTX 660m or 670m [those are within my budget]. And possibly an IB CPU. The battery life would have to be almost double this atrocious 2 hours. I want to use this laptop for gaming AND school so it would be great to get at least 4-6 hours of life so I could go through 2 classes without charge. I really would even take OPtimus on this GTX 560m but they don't have it enabled for some horrific reason even though the Mobo supports it. Could there be a BIOS update to enable Optimus and then I swap in a GTX 660m or 670m?? If that was the case I might not even return this.
Otherwise I will be forced to buy another battery and just deal with charging one overnight and then another in the morning so I have 2 battery's for school. My backpack is going to be heavy with this + all of my accounting and finance books -_- -
"Could there be a BIOS update to enable Optimus and then I swap in a GTX 660m or 670m?? "
Nope, an Optimus laptop is wired differently than yours so that wouldn`t work -
I took his suggestion to be imply that the 675m would instead be a significant cost upgrade as opposed to a pittance ($100 vs the $375 or whatever currently for 560m->580m). I did not think that it would be a 500 dollar upgrade; that would seem reasonably odd
-
Anthony@MALIBAL Company Representative
Trust me, you don't want a 17" laptop if you're going to be carrying it to and from classes (unless it's the only thing you'll be carrying). I'd highly recommend sticking with the 15.6", or even the smaller 11.5" W110 if/when it comes out. Save your back and try to get something you won't regret carrying everyday. I carry my P150HM pretty often and it would be a nightmare to carry that plus a bunch of heavy textbooks.
As for your question on Optimus, as was pointed out it's not a simple bios update or anything like that. The current lineup that lacks optimus is wired with the discrete GPU hooked up directly to the screen. For optimus to work it has to be wired through the Intel GPU, which is hooked up to the screen instead. No software or bios updates will be able to make up for the physical limitations, unfortunately.
