Yeah I noticed that, I use that key a lot when typing to access the spell check menu. Personally I would much rather see the numpad be completely removed as I feel it really is un-needed especially on a laptop.
-
Yeah I also use that key a lot, a nice replacement for right click action...
They removed an important button, but add another unnecessary "| \" button
-
Clevos are distributed all over the world and that's just one of many possible keyboard layouts. Look at this one on the p150hm for instance:
-
What exactly are you saying? This thread refers to the upcoming new P150EM.
It has a completely different layout and backlit keyboard, although different languages have different visual layouts (physical layouts can be changed in the OS itself)
-
would be good if we could have keyboard layout options as well, I for one use the numpad a lot, however the unnatural layout of this generation's numpad makes it really hard and annoying to use.
-
new kb looks good

-
Great more dust, cookie crusts, hairs etc in the keyboard
But it is much better to use though. And looks much better imo -
Great indeed, especially now that the keys light up too! Would be sad with a backlit colour only
-
I don't like the keyboard. I like chiclet kb style more. Is it possible to swap the kb with the older one with alittle modding?
-
The new keyboard looks great!
Functionality above looks. -
exactly, thats why id prefer a chiclet KB --> less crumbs/dirt/dust being stuck in between / under the buttons
cheers -
Is it possible that there will be an official TPU keyboard protector for p150em? It would be nice to have one for keeping it away from dust.
-
Just buy a simple plastic cover and put on it. You wont feel the difference. Costs like two bucks
-
I'm saying the P150EM will have different layouts just like the P150HM.
-
Any idea on when these will go on sale? I have a np8170 that's ordered but not shipped yet and I'm trying to figure out if I can switch my order over

We should find out some time this week, during CeBIT.
If you want some of my baseless speculation, it wouldn't shock me if they are taking preorders within the days after the conference is over.
Your seller won't be able to tell you, even if they know, because of the NDAs. -
I guess that for a $1600 laptop I'll grab another in two years or so

Got my tax return back today, I'm having a really hard time not pulling the trigger on one of these...
Any idea if the backlit keyboard can be put into the older models? -
No, the backlit can't because no power source on system board.
-

They also can't be retrofit because the new backlit keyboards are physically taller. They won't fit into the older chassis if you ever wanted to close the lid.

that keyboard looks horrible >_<
-
I like the looks of the new keyboard. I hate the island style chiclet, it just doesn't feel right to me. And a full numpad, awesome!
-
Yay macros !
-
Can I get one with the new keyboard, but the old touchpad? That would be perfect.

It appears a French site is selling the p150em's.
Clevo Clevo P150EM P151EM pcw.fr - distributeur Clevo officiel, CLEVO P270WM, CLEVO P150EM, CLEVO P170EM, CLEVO P150HM, CLEVO P180HM, CLEVO P170HM...
I don't know if clevo.fr is legit but I just noticed it so I thought I'd share. -
P.S. I am in the new market for a new laptop and am sold on the Clevo line. I'm debating buying a p150hm or waiting for the em so I've been scouring the internet. I came across the goldmine of notebookreview.com and am now glued to it. So it's my first (and now second) post and I'm just trying to help out with new info.
-
Pics and specs of GPU appear accurate based on speculation thus far..
Interesting that they specifically list the 150EM as having a backlit keyboard, whereas the 151EM keyboard under it doesn't have backlighting.. Pics for the 151 have the old keyboard style though. -
I just noticed that when you click on the photo it redirects you to http://www.pcw.fr/shop/clevo-sur-mesure-p150em-sur-mesure.html with 9 photos. However, it shows both a chiclet style keyboard (p150hm style) in one and a backlit traditional keyboard in another which obviously a contradiction. This makes me suspicious of this site.
-
I remembered seeing something about this a while back, looked it up:
CLEVO - News -
The ones with the HM keyboard are labeled as 151EM.. That's what I was referring to in my previous post..
What does that have to do with this French site? -
Can't y'all just wait for another 24h and see what will be introduced at CeBit :/
-
misterhobbs said he didn't know if clevo.fr was legit or not... they were on the list
-
So the Cebit has started today...not so excited about the Intel DIE shrink (aka Ivy Bridge) and NVIDIA high-end rebadge (aka GTX675m), but really hope to see our good old friend Kyle again:

I've tried looking up both Clevo and Sager on the CeBit exhibitors list, and they aren't there. Is it a bad website or are they not showing up to the conference?
Now I'm just sitting and seeing who from here can go and see what they have on show if Clevo is there. -
look here-
CLEVO - News -
I've seen that, but "Issued on: Oct 07, 2009" doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
-
Is, something fishy here.
and again, the logo of cebit 2012 here- http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/index.asp -
At least they are correct. Get ready for some videos posted by ceannel (CeBIT) on youtube themselves
-
I can't wait to see some news..
Might be coming back to the Sager Lounge. -
I don´t think sager will go there since it´s too far away.

Here's your news, Model B (P151EM?) Lacks a backlit keyboard
. Other than that they look real good, new 'command center' app too.
-
So, model A & B are 15" and C is 17" ?

Yes that is the case....

Must get summer job and buy a decked out p150em ;(

We may not even have to switch to the discrete GPU depending on how demanding of a game it is! AnandTech - The Ivy Bridge Preview: Core i7 3770K Tested Ivy Bridge GPU performance with immature drivers is very respectable, 60 fps Performance settings Crysis Warhead 1366x768.
-
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
Woha want expecting those results honestly.
I'm impressed with the performance of the hd4000 in games. Besides crysis warhead which is impressive, I also find dirt 3 performance great. Averaging 50fps at 768p/medium is great.
I bet that with future drivers and with the ability to raise the clocks with the 3770k the gpu should run with even higher clocks.
Maybe finally I can assemble an htpc without bothering about a discrete dedicated gpu, who cares if I'm stuck playing at 720p.
That's a great achievement none the less.
More over in a mobile platform context the higher clocked mobile CPU counterpart should juice enough those laptops aimed to portability and slim form factor without having a slow performance in games. -
The AMD Llano still has better graphics performance... Just nowhere near the compute performance.
-
Oh, the suspense!
-
hope this is no repost HawkForce - .:NEU:. NOTEBOOKS

Anyone else watch this? What the deal with the custom printing stuff? Is that going to be a custom lid option from Clevo/Sager or what?
