Considering that there are 3 possible laptops you can get inside the WxxxER series, I would say approx. 1000 - 2000$ depending on your unique customized hardware build and so on

ive seen an hp dv6t with i7 quad, amd 7670m blu ray, 1080p go for like 1000$ with the right coupons, i hope the w110ER isnt much more for the portability, once hp ugprades their line to gt 650m and ivy bridge quads, i expect these two lines to be nearly parallel in price hopefuly.

    Remind me, is DV6t 15.6 or 17.3?

EDIT: take blu-ray and 1080p off the HP for fairness, you can't get those on W110ER.

wow 14000 for the w110er compared to 12738 for this samsung i guess.... thats a significant difference, you think samsung used a cut down model, like 338 shaders instead of full 384?

    Nooo there are many possibilities

Very likely its the same 650m GPU

    But there are differences

    1. Samsung q470 uses an ULV versus the fullpowered i7 in the w110er

    2. They use different settings in 3dmark 06?

    well i see a i7 3820qm up there 2.7ghz

just out of curiousity, do you have anything saying that the samsung uses a ULV, just wondering cuz i want to know as much as possible before i just go for the clevo w110er.

and i doubt its different settings 720p for 3d mark 06

so its this notebook ? xD

    http://www.monsternotebook.com.tr/monster-notebook.html?opf=p1207&opr=5055

Btw the site already has other products listed such as the P150EM with the 660m and the W110ER with a 45W 3610qm and the 650m.. very interesting.. and this Compal barebone notebook with FHD screen and 650m

    MONSTER® Q61P150EM03 15.6" - MONSTER® Notebook » 15.6" P150EM ( GTX660M )

    MONSTER® Q61W110ER01 11.6" - MONSTER® Notebook » 11.6" W110ER ( GT650M )

Seems the first ivy bridge CPUs come down to the 3610qm and the 3720qm! I havent looked thoroughly though but atleast on that site there isnt any other cpu options

EDIT: Looks like they even have some comments from buyers already.. Someone commented the compal 650m notebook with
Bad translation but hes basically mad it took 8 days to arrive.. ??

The GT 650M comes only in two flavours, both with a 128 bits bus. One with DDR3 (W110ER), the other with GDDR5 (W150ER/ alledged W170ER).

The design of the new models are the exact same (small changes, such as ports, and keyboard size for some models) as last years. So yes they will look the same.

Okay is the 192 bit 660m just rumor, cause I have not read anything besides the posts here on NBR that mention in, this is searching google.

edit: nvm, it's 100% speculation, someone made it up or was horribly misinformed. Only Fermi based 600m series has 192 bit variants.

Apologies if this was answered earlier but will the W110ER have a backlit keyboard? I am thinking about picking one of these up to do sound/video calibration work when I travel and having a lit keyboard would be helpful at times.

    Video calibration?

Just like in the m11x, the 11.6" screen doesnt look very good.. probably it has bad viewing angles, low gamut and low backlight plus its glossy.. Also it has the 768p resolution, which is okay for a netbook though..

The screen was always the biggest problem of the m11x, too bad they didnt fix that, a 12.5" or 13.3" would have been so much better, even if they only were 768p and a cheap TN panel

    Screen:

By the way, anyone notice the black bezel in the first picture? Is that because of 3dmark or is the screen placement just bad?

Default 3dmark is 1280x720? I think, so there are black borders when you run it on a 1366x768 screen.

Well yeah I thought so, would be weird if the screen would be smaller even with the large bezel..

But what I was trying to say is that the 11.6 inch screen in that notebook isnt of good quality..

As a matter of fact there isnt any good 11.6 inch panel on the market because all of them are made for low cost netbooks..

The only good 11.6 inch panel is in the macbook air, but people havent suceeded in building it into other laptops..

damn, wish they gave us a screen upgrade option i say it would be the only flaw for this laptop,

pretty sure people have tried putting a macbook air screen in the m11x, its the same size?

When your calibrating another screen your own screen quality does not matter as the measurement is done by the spectrograph and all your screen does is display the results of the spectrograph. You're screen could be monochrome for all that it matters towards a professional video calibrator's job. That is not to say that a poor quality display wouldn't be likely to bother someone who has trained themselves to detect a inaccurate display. Just that the signal generation and measurement is done by calibrated instruments and not by you comparing your screen to theirs and tweaking theirs.

Correct, you use another meter for the calibration and not the laptop's. I've even gone as far as using a Samsung S7 Slate but it is annoying

Is it the 8th yet? I guess waiting few more days or months would be nothing considering I've been waiting for the right opportunity, reason, circumstances to by one of these bad boys. With that said ten years has flow, and now I having hard long look (read) in this sub forum. I always wondered why the old site, sagerforums, shut down.

Reminds me of a MacBook Air with a black screen bezel.

Interesting? Maybe, but most people looking at Clevo want a powerhouse beast, not an ultra thin/light producitivty machine. I am sure it will be good though.

I guess I'm mainly here for the GT 650M, which I don't see anywhere else other than in the Lenovo Ideapad Y480. I believe Clevo's cooling system is superior to Lenovo though, so I'm leaning on this side atm.

The W540EU looks like its marketed as an ultrabook, with Intel UMA graphics. Definitely not powerful enough for my liking..

Yeah, it's perfect for keeping your girlfriend away from Apple products!

*Clevo products tend to be very good value for money, I'd like to think it will be an ideal replacement for the models without dedicated graphics.

I'll probably get one as my personal machine for when I'm out and about, I like the look of it and don't need a gpu when I'm on the move (which is often) and it will fit in my bag better than the chubby w110. Besides it looks like the upcoming 3rd generation Intel graphics is going to be a substantial improvment on the current gen.

*Even though I am a reseller I have no pricing information at all on this model, everything I'm basing my opinions off is based on what is on google.

    Sager rebrands Clevo barebones.

Clevo produces notebook chassis (the box and the chipset), Sager picks the parts (CPU, GPU, HDD, RAM etc.) and assembles them.

Quite a meh ultrabook, it has more ports than the competition, but its still meh.

It would make more sense to have a 13'' w110 model, with a 1600*900 res, being a little bit thinner and lighter.
