the x7200 reminds me of the old asus a1 laptop, it was the most awesome laptop when i was teenager, wanted it so much but the price was really out of my reach :)

Just noticed. At the first post, on the X7200, why does it say MXM 3.0 Type-B+ on the GTX 380M and only MXM 3.0 Type-B on the rest? Just a typo?

Well, ignore the specifics, it's just like how 480 and 380 is stated as 1gb DDR3, and then at below it's stated 1gb GDDR5.

Oh.. and I just noticed the built in subwoofer and 5 speakers/ 4 speakers respectively with certified home surround system, seems Clevo took the 860/870 bad audio quality criticisms personally.

Awesome some finally good speakers. Maybe they were following Asus now too like the G73JH. How bad is the NP8690 speakers? Now a backlit keyboard and call it day, been thinking about this notebook for crazy benchmarking. The nvidia GPU's are probably the same gpu scemes anyway, hence the difference between a 8800GTX and 9800GTX?

Hmm, I've loved to go for the x7200, but I'm sure it's at least $1.5k more than I can possibly stomach.

This thing will probably price out around 3.5K for the top screen dual 480M's and a 980X.

Yeah i agree about 5,000 USD maybe 3,500, i would be awesome to have a 980X, screw the 480s, 5870s are the way to go.

Well, according to the OP, dual 480M, the 980X, 4GB RAM, and a 320GB HDD is +2071.30 Euros, added to the base system. So the question is then, how much does the barebone X7200 cost?

For example, the barebone X8100 is $1769 USD.

So you have to be looking at close to $4k for the entire kit. I cant justify over $2.2k for myself.

Lol stop complaining about the price. I reckon the 980X is going to cost about 1300-1400$ by itself here in Norway ^^,

Will see how long they keep it posted...It's replacing the D900F and still with a desktop processor so if that one is too big and heavy for you then this one will be as well.

Not worried about it being too large, just want to see a comparison to the D900. Looks impossibly thin from that promo shot.

Only 300w power adapter? I don't know but it seems to me that's not going to be enough. Somehow I don't think we're getting the whole story here. Something is not right.

Yes it makes sense that the SLI or Crossfirex version would have a 400w PSU. Maybe a 300W for the single GPU version.

Looks like the D900F and the x8100 are no longer present on the Clevo website. Might be updating their website with the new laptops.

Those machines were just mistakes from the beginning, and Clevo has to realize that. Thus, the concepts are consolidated into the X7200.

I feel bad for owners of them, because their notebooks might be EOL so quickly, probably with zero updates coming.

Interesting, but without a GPU upgrade, it's hard to see 3D-Vision running games well at higher than 1280x720.
I just remember how some "individuals" tried to sell us on the fact that 280M SLI was impossible with the desktop CPU, when it was clearly an upsell for the X8100.

Hmm... 2x480M SLI with desktop CPU, and now 3D screen on top of that, interesting. Probably the only notebook on the market that has the power to actually make use of the 3D screen.

It's not hard at all really. Just a few years ago the Nvidia 7950 was king of the hill, then the 8800 came out....performance is constantly improving.

I would find it hard to believe if they could not fit more power and performance in these machines, heat be damned.

I'm hoping a lot of these specs are true. Should be fun to bench.

    The 8800 doesn't have a TDP of 100W, plus 130W TDP for the i7-980x.
