New batch of Clevo notebooks for 2015-2016 wishes/expectations?

Hoping that Clevo releases a W230SS/ST/SD sorta chassis in metal similar to the P650SE. I love my little W230ST to death, but the ABS is starting to wear and look sorta bad (I bought it right when it came out so it is a little more than 2 years old now). I am thinking of vinyl wrapping some of it to help counteract it. I probably won't upgrade though until nVidia releases Pascal mobile.

 

Just to explain why Aftershock is able to release this infromation and have the review published; as they are in Singapore they are bound by different NDAs so they can publically discuss Skylake now. The situation in Europe and N America means that we aren't allowed to publically discuss mobile Skylake at the moment, we are bound by different dates. I can't tell you what those dates are, but it will take while longer before you see the familiar company rep's on here able to discuss new models and for us to be able to promote them :-(

 

Sucks, currently without a gaming computer atm and this wait is killing me !

It seems none of the listings have mentioned usbc or thunderbolt 3 clearly and I'm a bit confused I'm not confused about the the way its worded here.
Can some one fill me in which ones will have tb3?

It seems that way but it cant be right I think the wording may be off or they dont have all the details atm. For example the w15/17 is supposed to be the DM yet it doesn't even list tb3/type c on the specs sheet yet we have seen other specs sheets that list tb3 for the DM models so I'm not going to rule them all out until I see the final evidence of that.

Now I know I'm right !..... and that the wording and info on the aftershock website is off when I further examined the picture I see that the w15 model shown is actually the current ZM and not the DM notice how it has no type c port https://www.aftershockpc.com/welcome/Productinner/w15-new-2

Not sure if this helps, I noticed that the official Clevo website has no indication of 6th gen CPUs, let alone any new models.

I suspect a bigger revolution incoming?

 

Clevo has to comply with NDAs, they would be in a world of trouble if they broke them.

 

Hmm... What I am thinking then is what will Clevo reveal once its NDAs are lifted.

But I still find it strange that a reseller's NDA can be lifted before the manufacturer's, I thought it should be the other way.

 

Maybe you should look under the Tech Specs tab. Then scroll down, then look under IO Ports and you might see 1 x USB 3.1 port., AKA USB Type-C.

 

Different countries have different laws when it comes to these things. Unless that reseller signed an NDA with Clevo about the new machines, they wouldn't fall under the umbrella.

I already did all that and went to the listings and read the site specs and the info there is not very clear there plus it don't help to much that the picture of the machine is taken from the ZM previous model and is not the DM newer model. Also you have to be careful when describing the ports its best to be detailed but all i see mentioned is usb 3.1. To me its not enough and more details would be better since not all of those ports are capable of the 40gb transfer speeds. I would want to be certain that the port is capable of the 40gbps I've been reading about. Not all type c usb 3.1 are the same so honestly its confusing and I want things to be made more clear by posting the little details so the info on the site is simply not the most detailed at this time.

I already know the DM will have usbc/tb3 but the point is that I want to see detailed confirmed information, actual release dates, pricing and detailed specs and so far I have seen none for my region.

Agreed. But we are talking about the DM. The ZM has 2(iirc) A ports labeled as 3.1 but from @jaybee83 's testing they aren't 3.1 performance.

remember, the company could have used stock photos as a place holder our made a mistake on the upload. I've seen it before. Give it time.

 

That might be because there is USB 3.1 gen 1 which is the same speed as 3.0 at 5Gbps

The aftershock website was not clear in the description and did not even have actual pictures of the DM(w15skylake model). Patience is the name of the game and we have to wait because right now we simply do not have all the facts. I was the one who pointed out the lack of accuracy from that website lol and even posted the links describing my findings yet I'm the one getting schooled like I don't know what I'm talking about or something lol thats the joke.

This is totally off topic though. Back to the topic at hand - the reason for the old images is because of the fact that they don't have the W machines yet as the link I posted said.

 

Dude, the aftershock website showed pictures of the ZM not the DM and I clearly pointed that out before you and the gang decided to lecture me about things I already knew so that was far from being challenged it just shows your whole point is to try to challenge me even when I'm initially right to begin with. Ok, here's the nail in the head to all of you here - I called them up, spoke to the CEO himself. I know him fairly well, not on close terms but a decent acquaintance since I visit their service/assembly/delivery centre quite often. He said that yes, the new model is the W750 DM, with DDR4 support, G-Synch and all those bells and whistles. THE USB 3.1 PORT IS TYPE A (NON-REVERSIBLE), AND THE NEW MODELS ARE THE P750DM, WHICH APPARENTLY DO NOT COME WITH THUNDERBOLT. He mentioned that the information might change, and that the current pictures are placeholders from the Haswell models, since Clevo has not released full details yet. Now, all of you ought to stop speculating and wait for solid details. @MichaelKnight4Christ, calm down, man.

This is exactly what the Aftershock CEO said as well - they don't have the machines yet.

Clevo generally offers some scope of customization to their system builders... Its possible that 3.1 Type C and TB3 are optional extras like the TPM chip. Either way, we will just have to wait and see. There's no sense arguing over it now.

There is an alternate link that describes the specifications much differently than what was shown on aftershocks pc website and in this link we see mention of type c and thunderbolt 3 and clear actual pictures and descriptions. While we still have to wait for more info and details this lines up to other info that has been deemed accurate and on this very link people can already make configurations and preorders.
